ActionScript 3.0 :: Flash : Get Text Progression To Flow Right To Left?

i am trying to get my text progression to flow right to left but flip it so that instead of tiliting your head to the right to read it you would tilt your head to the left...i had orignally transformed and flipped the text box which worked for english text. but there is an option to change the language to chinese and when you do, the chinese character display upsidedown..
loading dinamic text from rollover on buttons, with:Code:textfield_txt.text = "Example of text loaded on dinamic field"But sometimes the text will be longer than the permitted field _width, missing some letters.Is it possible to make the text flow, like a marquee or a news ticker, from left to right when the text is too long, and then go back and start again? I searched for it but is always use movieclips
What i done there i draw a box and made it to movieclip and instance named it hook and created a invisible dot and called it dot. Then I calculated distance from box to the mouse then i took that number and put it in Math.cos command. And finally i made tweener to change box scale depending what my mouse distance from it.So if my mouse is close the box is big , if far - box is small. Ok, I want to know is there another way to do this ? Cuz , i cant think of other way to change arithmetic positive progression(like 3,6,9,12) to negative progression(like 12,9,6,3) than Math.cos command.

Is there a way to make text flow from one text field to another? I have some dynamic text coming into 2 textfields. I can have it so they enter the text as a paragraph for each field, but i was wondering if they could enter all the text and i could make it flow from one textfield to the other, like you would see in a magazine.
I have a 2GB Mpeg 4 Movie , i want to set the speed of frame progression by Action script. Example: play 1 frame every X seconds,where X can be a value that i will change
the movie is 1920x1080 ,30 frames per second square pixel.
I must be missing a step. I've set up a text container and font parameters correctly, and I've selected multiple columns. The text, however, won't flow from one line to the next. I'm working from Classroom in a Book, Lesson 7, on Using Text. I've never encountered this problem before in other Adobe programs.
I have a project where I'm loading some HTML into an HTML-enabled dynamic textbox, along with some images, using the img tag. The problem I have is that no matter what I do, the text tries to flow down one side of the image (depending on whether I have the image set to align 'left' or 'right'). I don't want this. I want the text to sit under the image, not flow around the side. I've tried everything I can think of, and I just can't seem to achieve this.
Does anyone know the math to create this type of spectrum?
I'm using the F8 bitmap object and this image for a color preferences panel, and would like to use the same image for a fall-back to F7.
For F8, I'm using getPixel(), for F7 I'll need to determine the color (or as close an approximation as possible) using the math used to create this type spectrum.
been a fan of this great site for ages. [URL] One thing i really like about the site is that when you get into a section, you will see at the bottom of the section the numbers 01 , 02 , 03...ect.. progressively load into the movie, which when they are loaded in are active and can be selected whilst the rest stilll are preloading.
Has anyone else noticed a lot of things breaking since flash player 11 was released? I have input text fields that display html content in them. They also have an image embed in them as well. Before people could enter text in them with no problems and now suddenly all the text types from right to left and is completely backwards?
Just to be clear it's not aligning to the right, the actual letters are coming out backwards like it might do for another language that is from right to left. These text fields are not TLFTextFields just regular textfields.
I have other textfields just like this that, but they don't have images in them and they seem to be working fine. Anyone else have this issue or know what might be causing it with flash player 11?
My vision is to have a colored square at the top of the site Im working on which should span across the entire browser window. I have created a square 1280 x 100 pixels in size and imported it to the stage, alignment is set to x=0, y=0 ad alignment. The scene is the same size as the square I 've imported. When I view my Flash creation its displayed 8 pixels from the top left corner of the browser window. The flash file only contains the square and nothing else. take a look at the 3 files I've attached: issue-scrreen1-3.jpg. The first 2 screens are my Flash, properties and library screen shots. The third screen shot is my browser window.
Specifically, I have a demo of a flash game (sort of super mario style). In it I have two types of weapon - a simple fire and big fireball. I reviewed the code in order to learn flash better [I am very new - since around monday this week].
I saw that the program has a variable that keeps track of the number of uses I have left in each weapon. I tried to review all the places this variable was used but I couldn't find where it affects the drawing onto the screen.
I even tried removing the variable declaration and then testing it - so I may find all references to the variable -- By the way any convinient way of finding all references to a variable/method/class [I am using ADOBE FLASH CS5.5]? Also, I tried changing the variables starting value to "12" and I noticed that when I test the game, the weapon has 12 uses indeed.
So my problem:1. It seems that this variable is somehow affecting the drawing. Yet, I don't know how it does so since all the code I have found that uses this variable has nothing to do with drawing. It is all, logic, like

My goal is to shoot a bullet everytime I click on ship. What happens, in fact, is that If I click on it once, the bullet is shot, but if I click on it twice before the first bullet is off the screen, the first bullet literally stops(it does not disappear, only stops) and the second bullet is shot.

I'm looking to simply append the following text to an existing spark.components.TextArea's text flow: <b>something</b>: hello world
I have attempted to do this using the following code, but nothing happens: this.textarea.textFlow.addChild(TextConverter.importToFlow( "<b>something</b>: hello world", TextConverter.TEXT_FIELD_HTML_FORMAT));
How can I accomplish this? I know in the old mx.controls.TextArea component, I could simply do: this.textarea.htmlText += "<b>something</b>: hello world"; How can I do this with the new TLF/FTE API expressed in the spark.components.TextArea component?
I made a little animation for a client. Its a repeating movement of a cat. The flash-file works great and shows an endless animation without interruptions. But after I integrated that animation, it plays the animation wrong. It sticks on some point. Heres the code and the link:
I have downloaded free version of itunesViewer and working on it. I found it was extensively using onEnterFrame which is taking lots of CPU, slowing the system.there's function 'controlTheObject' which contains onEnterFrame code. eliminate the use of onEnterFrame. Can there be other alternatives??
I can get the Arabic text to work except for the direction from left-to-right to right-to-left without going through the entire file and changing all the text boxes manually or coding each text box individually which is proving a real headache as some files have loads of text boxes.
I just migrated from CS3 to CS4 I have a set of navigation buttons which are in text now. I need the first left word to be at 100 align left and the last text word to be at 800 align right there are 3 other buttons in the middle. How in the world do I align all these with keeping the far left word and far right words where against their lines and keeping the spacing inbetween all the same? I tried this with keeping the text as text and using the align tools, paragraph tools then converting all the text to an mc and still can't get it right. I pic of what I need to do is in the attached.
I have a box that when rolled over, I want some text over to the left to increase. Say I have a dynamic text that says "computers". Now when you roll over that box, I want "computers" to increase to size 28. How would I do that?

i hav a left right moving thumbnail gallery from xml, i need that on the last image image come on focus from the left side so automatically the left button will be disable or opacity goes 0 anything and same thing from right side also.
