View 4 RepliesIs there any way to make a full browser swf that, at a certain point, stops scaling to the stage and allows the browser to use it's native scrollbars? For example, say my flash site has a top bar (it's y is always 0) and a bottom bar (it's y might be stageHeight - 15). Is there any way to tell the movie to stop scaling if the bottom bar's y is less than say 300, and from that point have the browser display it's scrollbars allowing you to scroll the content?

I got 4 Google AdWords Conversion Page codes, which in the case of an HTML website would be placed in the respective individual HTML pages.But my client needs that in his AS2 Full-flash Site.. each should be called when one arrives in specific areas of the site.I suppose I might be able to place the Conversion Codes in the main HTML (index.html) and then call the Javascript functions from within Flash.

My site displays fine in Firefox and IE, but appears as an empty page when attempting to view in: The site will load, but isn't visible for me until I double click in the browser window or minimize/maximize the window... The site also loads fine if I access it through a hyperlink. This one's really got me confused! Any more ideas?

I got this code to use google analytics to track activity on my flash site but I am not exactly sure on how to use it. Do I place the code on all the buttons I would like to track or is there a way to embed this code into to HTML document that my flash site is embedded in. I figured because of the onRelease action that it needs to be on a button,but I was hoping that there my be a better way. (My flash site has a lot of buttons.)

I had designed and setup a flash website for a client a while ago and just recently they emailed me saying their website doesn't work in Google Chrome or Safari. I have SWF Object 2 on the website and that doesn't seem to help. The flash component of the website doesn't show up at all yet works fine in IE and FF. What could be the issue here?

I'm creating this simple strip crawl of logos (1920x95). It's a about 40 logos in one strip that I imported. I created a tween that scrolls the logos right to left lasting about 1 1/2 minutes @ 24fps. When I export the SWF file the scroll is not smooth and there is all types of small jerky movements.
View 2 RepliesI'm working on a standalone Flash application (written using Flex 3/ActionScript 3) that features a text crawl, like what you might see at the bottom of your TV when watching a cable news channel; it's a long narrow box that text moves across from right to left. I've implemented it by creating a Label element, populating it with text, and then moving it using a mx:Move object with a Linear.easeNone easing function. It works, but it has ample room for improvement. It looks a bit jerky, and tends to have a fair amount of "tearing" (the top and bottom halves of the text sometimes fall out of sync).
I tried throwing math at the problem to get the crawl's movement rate synced with the monitor's refresh rate, but that was a bust. I found out the hard way that the app's frame rate jumps around too much; the "optimized" crawl varied between looking silky smooth and like it had epilepsy.
Is there anything else folks would recommend I try to smooth this thing out? Is there some alternate design you'd recommend I try?
Edit: Some context: the crawl is part of a digital signage application (played from a standalone Flash projector -- no web browser) that does stuff elsewhere on the screen, including video playback and rendering text and images. It definitely gets choppier during video playback, but it's never as smooth as I'd like it to be.
I would like to know if there is a way to create a calendar page on my site that will display the free Google Calendar? I have embedded code in a Myspace site before and it worked well, but have no experience with the IFrame code that Google Calendar uses. fyi- I just bought Flash a month ago and have been editing a template that I purchased to be my new website.

View 10 RepliesI have added 2 text3D textfields for each plane that gets rendered via xml.Everything works fine, yet as more planes get added via xml the carousel slows down considerably.If I remove the text3D fields the carousel rotates very smooth and at normal speed. Is this just a limitation of text3D in Papervision3D or is there a way to optimize this better? Yes, smooth is set to false and images have been optimized.

View 2 Repliesthe flash4 published set of files, with a variety of skins tried, works well on the local drive, even when moved to a different folder structure. when index.html is opened on the remote web site, the browser (firefox3 and ie7) displays the player conrols and a rotating horizontal barber pole, green and black, but no flash video.some of the skins i've used are: SkinOverPlaySeekFullscreen.swf, nOverPlayStopSeekCaptionVol.swf and SkinUnderPlay.swf. all work locally but do not play the .flv file on the web site. no problem playing flv movies on the remote web site if the file set is created by dreamweaver.

I know to get the values I need the radiobuttonGroup, but I'm not having much luck setting the values.
