ActionScript 3.0 :: Get Object Bounds In Relation To Transform Center?

I'm building a class at the moment for transforming and scaling content with align, constrain and scaling options.
This is just just fine if the transform center is LEFT or TOP_RIGHT, or what have you, and always within the object bounds, but I haven't yet tackled situations where objects are NOT nicely aligned, or the transform point is outside of the object bounds.
I am just getting back into using Flash after not using it for about 5 years. I'm having an issue with the simplest thing! I want to be able to type pixel values into the Properties panel to transform/resize an object from the OBJECT CENTER as reference point. If I use the transform tool, it uses the center of the object as the reference. However, if I do as above and type values into the Properties width/height, the object transforms with the top left corner as reference. If I need two or more objects sized exactly the same, or if I want to do a "zoom in" effect, using the transform tool is very ineffecient!
My object seems to be showing that the center is set as the reference point (white circle in center of object). Also, the objects I am working with are jpg's and psd's imported to the library, and made into movie clip symbols.

I've been looking for a JSFL command that might do this, but haven't come across anything even remotely similar to what I'm trying to achieve. Perhaps there is another solution besides JSFL that someone might know of.Question: Is there a way that I can select multiple symbols (either in a single frame or across multiple frames) and apply a scale transform that will adhere to each symbol's registration point?
Scenario:In an animation sequence, a movieclip of a tall rectangle is tweened on the timeline using "classic" tween. There are 20keyframes, where the mc changes position and rotation.In a duplicate of that animation sequence, I want to change the height of all instances of the mc in the animation, but keep the position and rotation. The rectangle should stay a rectangle, only shorter.I go to a keyframe, select the mc, and enter the desired scale percentage for the height in the transform pane. Then I repeat this for the other 19 keyframes. Imagine the pain and suffering I go through when this is done for several sequences!
Ideally,I would want to use the "edit multiple frame" mode in the timeline, select all instances of the mc across all 20 keyframes, and apply the height transform to all mcs via JSFL or dark magic.Flash's default behavior transforms multiple objects as a group,so not only will it squash and shear the different mc instances(creating diamonds),it will also shrink the distances between the different positions(changing the path of the tweens).I'm looking for a way to apply the transform so that each instance scales to their own registration point,preserving their position and respective of their rotation.
I have a situation where i have relations like this:A person has one or more addresses.A customer has one or more addresses.Person,customers and addresses are separate tables.I used to do this with the @OneToMany relations.This is giving me problems since our flex client is sending me objects wich are created in the client ad have to be created in the DB.If the client sends me a person and customer which reference to the same address hibernate will create two address objects since the two address object are not the same java objects (not the same pointers).This is a problem which is caused by BlazeDS and Dozer which will create new objects when they are send to the server.So what i would like to have is the address id in the person and customer object without an relation so hibernate does not create the objects. But when i read a person object i would like to fill a transient address object based on the stored address id.
i have a character_mc that moves on mouse click, a logtxt dyanamic text box and a mc named $box. The camera follows the character and when the log and $ boxes are staying put.
I want them to stay on the same point on the stage(meaning I want them to stay at the same place on the camera) I was wondering what i might do for this? I have tried to put them in a movie clip but it doesn't really seam like it worked well so i discarded the idea.
I have a frame_mc that get scaled 400 % onPress with a fusekit tween. Now I'll like to anchor a title_mc to the the top edge of the frame_mc without scaling it. How to do that? onEnterframe in the onPress function?
I have a movieclip and when I do 3D rotation from Transform panel, It rotates perfect, center is in the middle of image, and when I apply mc.rotationY, rotation center is in left of the image, aren't 3D rotation from Transform panel and mc.rotationY from AS same? what's up?
I'm trying to code the snap to grid functionality. The dragged object should snap to the grid if the distance between the object bounds and a grid line is less than 5px. I found a way to do it if the object's rotation is 0 but it doesn't work if I rotate the object. I need a different approach. Can you point me into the right direction with the algorythm or any source code?
If I brought in a sunburst vector into Flash cs5 and made it an editable object, and made it a Movie Clip (lets name this movieclip, sun1_mc) and than made another (lets call this one sun2_mc) the only thing that changes in between these objects is the color. How would i acess the advanced feature through Actionscript 3.0 so that when the user clicks on a button (lets call this button button_btn) it transforms the color color smoothly from one frame to another. I know i could do it old stlye and make a shape tween and than put sun1_mc on frame 1 and sun2_mc on say frame 15 and just put a motion tween between them. But i was just wondering if there is a way to do this via Actionscript 3.0?
I'm having trouble with loading in an external image that I can transform with the Senocular Transform Tool class. I have managed to load in the picture but the transform class doesn't seem want to grab it. Eventually I want to us the FileRef to upload the image but I just need to figure out how it works first. Here my code to load in the external image

The transform class can grab the other movieclips but it doesn't want to grab the new image loaded in from the code above.
i want to assign a transform matrix to an object, but i want to assign the values myself (as in, no 'rotate, scale etc'), but for example, set a matrix like

which if applied, would have no effect, but would be valid (actually not exactly that matrix, but you get the idea). i want to set the values of the matrix and the object should be affected by those values that i set by myself, no scale rotate or any predefined operations. how can i set my own matrix?

I have a BitmapData object with an alpha channel. I'd like to know the fastet way to offset that alpha channel in ActionScript3 (FlashPlayer10). By offsetting I mean shifting all pixels of that channel in one direction (wrapping around the image borders) while leaving the color channels as they were.Is there a good way to apply a such a transform to one channel only?

I wrote earlier about this InterpolateColor class that I have just written... now I am wondering about why I seem to only be able to use it on one object at a time and not on two objects at the same time.I want to use it to increase the brightness on my background image, while at the same time decrease the brightness on my navigation link text. It works on either one if done alone but when they are done at the same time, only one executes.
I found the function: rotateAroundExternalPoint(m:Matrix, x:Number, y:Number, angleDegrees:Number) to rotate an object around an external point. The top of the object will always point at the center point which is exactly what I want.
It works fine but its possible to rotate it in an oval instead of in a perfect circle...I think it should be something with the angleDegrees Parameter but im not sure what to do with it. I also tried to set up an own matrix but I failed. Any right direction to orbit an object in an oval, and where the top of the object always point at the rotation center?
I'm having a little difficulty getting to grips with the getBounds() Movie Clip function. I assumed the getbounds() method simply got the boundary coordinates for the movie Clip, that one could use to draw a rectangle. This is what I'm trying to do;I'm trying to get a movie clips coordinate bounds, and use the min and max values of x and y to draw rectangle around the object. Simple right? But in my case, I'm getting some unexpected results. I wonder does ther registration point of the object determine the coordinate values? Also are the coordinate values local to the clip instance or global to the stage?
my problem is that if i scale, rotate or translate a display object using its transform.matrix i am not getting the value in the display object but the transform is happening like displayObject.scaleX or displayObject.scaleY etc. i get this new transform value using the dislayobject? as i am using a matrix transform manager which actually changing the transform matrix of the display object.
I want to make a fluid layout for the website I'm working on right now. I know the basic concepts of how to center an object and keep it there, or how to stick a shape to the top or bottom... etc. But if there's a movieclip that I would like it to conserve its position proportionally as the visitor resizes the stage, how can I do that?

A simple motion tween rotating the image will only work if the object is perfectly round, so distorting the object to make it more straight or curved won't work with a simple tween. I want to do exactly what is happening here (with my own object), is there some AS3 behind the scenes here making this turn on a center point?
I have a situation where i have a horizontal scrolling container that has a video object inside it. the video object has to stay inside the scrolling content for another reason i don't want to get into here. Now the client wants me to keep the video in the center of the stage even when the clip its inside of is scrolling. Normally I would just take it out of the scrolling clip and place it above the scrolling content but i cant do that here. I tried this math but it didn't work exactly. on an enter frame when the video is open I have this code;

I have a TargetCirlce_mc which moves on "y" axis from top to bottom. And I have an arrow_mc which is on x:100 & y:200. How can I shoot an arrow exactly on the registration point of the TargetCircle_mc (automatically) while it is exactly opposite to the arrow_mc?
I have two MC's on the stage. One of them is standing still in one position, the second one is moving towards it. I want the moving mc stop right at the very centre of the first mc. I've tried using hitTestPoint, but I don't know how to set the proper parameters. If I put there just: mc1.hitTestPoint(mc2.width / 2, mc2.height / 2, true), the trace function I use doesn't seem to have even noticed the collision...

how to lock the mouse to the center of the drag object but instead of the center of the object moves towards the mouse its the mouse who's going to move towards the center of the object? This

locks the mouse to the center but its kind of annoying to see the object jumping specially if the object is big.
