Apr 23, 2009
i have a button on my main swf and when i click this button a new swf loads into this main swf. when this happens the button is placed behind this swf. is there a simple way to keep my button on top when this new swf loads in?
I'm running Flash CS4 on a laptop and find it gets sluggish. I find when I restart my computer, I can work at a good speed for a while, but eventually it becomes very laggy - why is this?
Can I dump the cache files or something to simulate the restart? I've reduced the undo history to 10 - any other tips for CS4 on a mediocre machine?
I was wondering how to embed an swf file inside another swf file, If i simply import it to the stage or the library it will become a symbol but the actionscript interactivity is lost, another question is can I have an actionscript 2 file play within an actionscript 3 file? The actionscript 2 code for embedding is something like this: don't mind the _mc titles
I should build a web application for back-office purposes and one of the main requisites is a good UI. On server-side I'll use Java very likely Spring framework, depending on what I'll be using client-side. I think to basically have 3 choices for client-side: a "normal" web application, meaning JSP pages, using JQuery framework. In this case, I will use full Spring's features, complete MVC pattern etc. I've been using Spring and JQuery for 2 years, so I know these techs very well. But I also know that it's quite complicated to realize some effects, much javascript code involved, specially when dealing with ajax calls and dynamic changes of page structure.
Flex with add-ons such as BlazeDs to integrate with Spring. I have no experience using Flex, I just read some articles and tutorial about it, but I really would like to learn something new :-) Google Web Toolkit, maybe with something like gwt-ext. No experience, but I really like to learn. It's plenty of support out there if I need, but I think I will struggle to maintain Spring MVC and GWT in the same project, I read that it's not so easy but there are a couple of patterns to follow.
my login form in flex when I login I have created a cookie in jsp like this name setValueCookie.jsp [code]through the httpservice value i am getting but if i open a new window or any new tab cookie value is not getting how can i solve this?
I'm looking to work out the most efficient way to maintain the joining of two points with a line in AS3. Basically, I have a whole bunch of circles that move around, and have a property subNode which will act as an end point for the line. At the moment, the way I'm doing it is extremely intensive:
I want to build a gallery that is full screen all the time and make it scaleable. The gallery is easy but I want image to maintain ratio but once reaching a 800 by 600 stop scaling .
i am trying to develop a simple car game, and to do that i have to maintain the distance between the two wheels. for the collision detection i have used coreyoneil class, which i think is excellent. i cant get the distances to go smoothly. and basically i am finding it hard to get the physics to work.
p.s. i tried to upload the files here and got an error each time, anyone know why that is?
Is it possible to maintain the style format I've applied to my dynamic textfield when using css? What I'm trying to accomplish: I'm trying to get the url links in my cdata from my xml file ( <a href="">link</a> ) to underline, and if even more so possible, to bold or change font color for that link. And I'd like to avoid just using the <u> tag in the cdata instead.I know you can just use a stylesheet to accomplish that, but I've already set up my script to use the setTextFormat method and when I try to combine the two, it seems that I lose my embedded font.Heres what I have now for my textfield, which is also successfully pulling the style from a xml file.[code]
My app has 2 frames; in frame 1 there are 5 MC and on a DOUBLE_CLICK event the target's color change and go to the next frame 2. In frame 2 i have a button to return to frame 1. How can i maintain the MC color when i return to frame 1?
We are working on digital photo frame(DPF) project where we need to run DPF on 3 different resolutions, i.e., 800x480, 1024x600 and 1024x768. Is it possible to maintain only one .fla file for all resolutions? How can we go for it? We will be publishing it for flashlite 3 and using AS2. The application runs on a processor of 800MHz.... and total available memory is 128MB..
I have a DataGrid and I set the DataProvider to my data. When my data changes the DataGrid loses the selected row and the scroll bar jumps back to the top. How do I maintain the selection and scroll position?
I have created a flash video player using as3 (videoObject) but when I play the video the video is streched how to tell flash using as3 to maintain aspect ratio.
I have an app that has been a standalone app 'til now; however, in another app it's going to be a wee little module. Is it possible to somehow maintain 1 codebase when the standalone has a source tag of:
I have a container full of tiles and other assets that serves as the map. On top of that container is a mask that serves as the camera the player sees through. In order to move the camera around I move the container around.I'm able to center on a tile within the container using the following formula:
This moves the container into position relative to the mask such that the center of the mask will be the tile in question.I recently added the ability to zoom, which just adjusts the scaleX/scaleY of the container to make it bigger or smaller. I've already fixed the centering code above to account for it, but I'm having trouble making it so the "camera" doesn't appear to move around as the view shrinks. Basically, when zooming out everything appears to move to the left, because the container shrinks. It's all fine once I center on something with the code above, but I need a way to bump the container over to the right a bit based upon the difference in scaleX and scaleY to keep everything looking like it's in the same position while zooming.
My app has 2 frames; in frame 1 there are 5 MC and on a DOUBLE_CLICK event the target's color change and go to the next frame 2. In frame 2 I have a button to return to frame 1.
How can i maintain the MC color when I return to frame 1?
public class test extends MovieClip { public function test() {
My function is when you click it, it will navigate you to the other page(same .swf file) at the same time the blue box will turn to red box...what happen is that, when it reach the page, it turns blue box again.. How can I maintain the color(red) of the box, when it reach the other page?
I'm developing an app consisting of 6 frames with 4 or so ComboBoxes on each frame. ComboBox data has been declared through Component Inspector > dataProvider. I want the user to be able to return to previous frames to review their selections made in each ComboBox. However when changing frames, the label returns to its Prompt condition. How do I override the DataProvider data when a selection has been made, to keep displaying that selected label while the user navigates? I've tried a few possible solutions but keep getting an error 1119 message dealing with fl.controls:ComboBox.[code]
I'm making a thumbnail gallery where I want the image you click on to expand, while the pictures to either side move out of the way. I managed to get it working using this to move the pictures:
"Value" is just a number assigned to each picture, so this does one thing to the pictures to the right of the target, and one thing to the pictures on the left.
i try to charge a XML images inside a movieclip, but i need this movie clip maintain the aspect ratio. This movie clip gonna change with the size of the explorer, but when this change my image is going stretch. I used this code doesn't work but i try:
I'm having a hard time figuring out the best way to import graphics from Photoshop. I tried importing a psd for an arrow shape into Flash CS5. The imported image looks good. But when I right click on the imported image and choose 'Edit with Photoshop', it's just a flattened version. Is there another way of importing that keeps the editability of the original psd?
My picture size is about 1000px by 1000px. It's pretty big, but simple. It has large circles, & when I place it in Flash, the circle's edges become pixelated and choppy, and not at all as smooth as it was in Photoshop. How can I maintain the quality? I tried putting a JPG in and a PSD, both of them looked really bad.
I have a TileList which represents some remote data. I also have a form which allows me to change the data. And the data may be changed by someone else too.
What is the best way to maintain data in the list in an up-to-date state? The simplest option I see is the following:
Select an item in the list Edit it in the form Save it. The form submits the data to the server When the server reports success the list re-fetches it's data The very bad thing about this workflow is that the list loses selection (a tree would also loose the nodes' expanded/collapsed state). I would really love to find out another option which would enable the list to maintain it's selection state.
I have flexlib WindowShade component in repeater in my Flex + AIR application. <mx:XML id="mainMenuXML"><items> <item value="abc" /> <item value="xyz" /> <item value="lmn" /> </items></mx:XML>
Now in button1 click handler I am appending child in XML(mainMenuXML) resulting adding one more windowshade instance. But the problem is it opens all the windowshade instances. I need to maintain the opened states after adding a new windowshade instance.
For example: Initially I get 3 windoshades with labels: abc, xyz, lmn all opened. Now I close the xyz windowshade instance(by clicking on the header) Now I click on button which appends child in mainMenuXML and also add a windowshade instance with some label "pqr". But now I see all the windowshade instances opened. But it should be like abc, lmn, pqr should be opened & xyz closed(property opened="false").
How to maintain the opened true/false state of windowshade instances. I tried to add a property in dataprovider Bindable to opened property of windhowshade but didn't worked for me.
Code: var img_array:Array = new Array({img:"nav_thumb1", img:"thumb_01"}, {img:"nav_thumb2", img:"thumb_02"}, {img:"nav_thumb3", img:"thumb_03"});
This is pretty simple, but when you need more values inside each element, it gets difficult to maintain.I know I could probably do this using XML, but I'm trying to learn all about arrays
I'm having a problem with importing a layered PSD file into Flash, an issue which i've read about in a number of forums but haven't yet been able to fix.
The content of the PSD file in question is numerous layers of line drawing which I am importing to the Stage and converting to keyframes in Flash. The layers have no white background and are clear but for the lines of drawing.
The problem I'm having is that the first layer of the PSD file imports perfectly, with its quality intact, but all those which follow it are distorted and jagged, and look pretty awful for some reason.
I have experimented with both lossy (set at 100) and lossless compressions to try and improve the layer quality, lossless is marginally better but not the best.
I am creating simple drawings in Power Point and them saving them as png or jpg files. I then bring the drawing into Flash using import to stage. The imported drawings lose some quality (e.g. straight lines appear jagged). Any way to maintain image quality when importing images into Flash.
