I'm working on a charity project that needs a parallax. I followed some tutorial and got the parallax and page zoom out working. The problem is I'm not sure how to stop the parallax from moving when I click on the MC pages on the map. They are marked as Village1 , 2 and 3. The pages AS3 scripts are under parallax-level3 MC. Attached are the current working files. [URL]
View 0 RepliesI'd like to control a mc movement on_x direction (or _y) when the mouse mouves horizontaly (or verticaly). So when I mouve the mouse to the right the mc mouves to the lefht and it mouves to the right when the mouse moves to the lefht. It's for a window effect.
View 8 RepliesI tried my best to search the forum before posting, but if this issue has already been addressed, I apologise in advance. My goal is to create a movieclip that will scroll vertically based on mouse movement, rather than mouse position.I've found many tutorials on the yugop scrolling menu, but my problem with this menu is that the scrolling continues even when the mouse has stopped moving, if the mouse position is on either side of the stage.
View 1 RepliesSearched the forum and couldn't find the mouse movement using the ._x/._y tween class to move based on another mc's dimension to give me the idea how to work on it.
View 4 RepliesOne of my Clients wants a certain type animation on his buttons and he wont budge. here it is. a set of buttons (home - about - products - contact) with a line running parallel to them on top. when you roll over (lets say products) he wants that section of line to bend up and away from mouse. this 'bend' in the line 'unbends' when mouse is completely rolled off the button section but moves along the line if next button is rolled onto. This Isn't all. he says If possible he would like an object (lets say an apple) to move along the down slope of the line bend. however the more i think about this the less it works. so im only worried about the line bend for now. Im still waiting for him to send me an example he saw on another website i will post it as soon as i get.
View 4 RepliesI am doing a website where the background is moved with the mouse horizontally. I want it with a edge size ti avoid too much movement when the mouse is in the middle of the stage.

var edge:Number = 100;[code]...
I would like to create something similar to this: and only need a few things to complete it.What is missing is to make the whole flash movie (the white area, including the watches and cursor) move from left to right and right to left depending on the movement of the cursor (round circle) .. Panning effect I have attached the file i am working on..maybe that makes it easier to understand
View 5 Replies[URL]. I am curious how I can achieve an effect like this. More specifically the background movement associated with dragging on the mouse. How is the image constucted? Is it a large circular image?
View 3 RepliesI am about to make a gallery where all the pictures are ligned up, in a vertical row collum.I wan to make the Movieclip move in the opposite direction of my mouse movement
View 2 RepliesWhat I really want to know is how to rotate the symbol based on direction of mouse movement
View 1 RepliesI have a round arrow on stage (like half of a circle) and I want to make it turn left when mouse moves right and vice versa. How to accumulate this turning thing ?
View 2 RepliesWe have made a dynamic image animation using xml. We are attaching the source code herewith. At present, when you place your mouse over the images, the animation will start backwards. I.e., it will reverse the way the images are loading.
We want this animation order (normal and reverse) to control based on the mouse movement. By default, now the images are animating in one direction. That is fine now. But, we want the animation should get reversed when you place your mouse at bottom of the page. And again when you move the cursor towards top of the page, animation should again start as normal (vice versa).
how we can achieve this task using mouse placement?
hi i m new to flash and i want make a site in which the back ground moves with mouse just like URL...
View 1 RepliesIs it possible to draw motion guide/path for a mouse position based movement?
For example if I have path the is like letter H. I would need to write many clauses/conditions for the borders of the movement. It would be a LOT easier if there would be some solution that makes the object always to stay on the defined path when moving..
I'm trying to create the effect on the dreamers site [URL] during the main intro where all the kids are sitting in the theatre and the one kid is smoking. Anyone know how to create this effect that has different images move at varying speeds based on the mouse location to show depth.

The slider at the bottom for the thumbnails moves ok but I want it to stop at the last slide. I
I can manage to code it based on the mc's _x value
i.e if (mc._x < -200){ //do nothing }
but this creates a dead stop and I want a gently slow down like if you were to navigate from thumb 8 back to 1.
all of my coding at the moment uses the mc's x value in relation to the mouse's distance.
The code I have currently set on the slider is:
Code:
onClipEvent (enterFrame) {
if((_root.slidesQTY>6)&&(_root._ymouse>460)){
if(this._x<0){
[Code]....
how I could add another if statement that doesn't halt the animation as it hits the last slide but creates a smooth slow down?
I am having difficulty with getting the playhead to move inside a movieclip based on the horizontal or vertical position of the mouse on the screen. I can get the horizontal motion to move the playhead, but I can't get the vertical movement to do the same. I have attached the document class .as file for it.
View 2 RepliesI recently came across a small business site that had a homepage with there logo and some basic nav in the center with the business logoBut there entire background had a moving flash background made up of photos in the shape of words, that when you moved your mouse to the left, the background would move to the right, up and it would go down and so on as if it followed your mouse but inverted.
View 3 Replieswhere i can find a script to attach to a movie/background image so that i can make the movie clip pan left or right based on the mouse position (with easing too!)? Example http:[url].... make sure you enter the site thats where you will see what i mean. I've been wanting to create a page like this for some time using png files and transperency and multiple layers.
View 9 RepliesI am using the blitting technique that jeff from uses for creating tiles. I am trying to paint 2 layers of bitmapdata onto a bitmap. One the first layer is the background ( 1 image). and the second layer is the tiles. In that class below. the updateMap is the method that gets called in the loop to repaint the image.

I have 10 images in 10 frames ( 1 image per frame ). So I'm trying to make the frame to go to the next one when the mouse is moved to the right, and make the frame to go to the prev one when the mouse is moved to the left.
View 14 RepliesI wish to get the effect of ants scuttering across the screen or up a tree, I have not decided which direction yet. I started with the tutorial code for the snow effect from kirupa, and changed it around to fit the little vector ant I created. The way I have it now looks pretty good, but the movement is a little too fluid. They obviously move in sinusoidal paths bc the code tells them to. I have about 20 copies of the main obj, and they're all a little different in size and specs (speed, transparency, etc) but what I was wondering was if there is any way I can change the code to make it a little more hectic, or erratic, not so fluid. If there is no way of doing so, it looks pretty good right now. If there is, however, I think it could look awesome. here's the code I'm using for the object.
onClipEvent (load) {
//stage
movieWidth = 850;
movieHeight = 50;
[code]....
I just want to say that I am fairly experienced with AS2 because i'm used to visual design, but I am very new to as3.So I found a tutorial on a parallax effect and then tailored it to my needs. I have had previous websites where I loaded and unloaded swf's with AS3.But when I combine the scripts to load and unload external swf's with the parallax actionscript, My parallax mouse follow effect does not work. It is a lot to explain so I uploaded the .fla and all the files needed with a description of the problem. I'm really stumped here with what I am doing wrong.I did not include any script for adding the external swf's so you do not have to backtrack through my problems and you can show your way of doing it.could not include the movie player because of the file size so I included the actionscript file in the folder and where it is placed in the fla.
View 6 RepliesI have a mc (fStrip) which looks like a piece of filmstrip with thumbnail images in it. I want this mc to move when the users mouse is positioned over it, but I only want it to move only along it's x-axis and in a direction opposite that of the mouse. And I want it to move or flow smoothly.
I've been trying to figure this out (see my lame attempt below) but without much luck.
onClipEvent (mouseMove) {
buffer=20 //movement buffer
mousePos=_root.fStrip._xmouse //store mouse position
if (mymouse!=_root.fStrip._xmouse){ //if the mouse has moved

I want to know how i can moving my scene by moving a mouse over them.

i've figured out how to move objects with actionscript but am having trouble pushing it a bit further. i'd like to: a) ease in and out with actionscript and b) have the object move to a certain distance, then move back.
View 4 RepliesI am currently creating an explorable comic. The problem being the explorable part.Essentially I'm trying to scroll the "screen" in order to explore the comic, the comic being just one massive picture. To do this I figure I need to move the picture in relation to where the mouse is to a centre point, So the further away the mouse gets from the centre point the faster the image moves in the opposite direction.
View 1 RepliesIm looking for a quick solution (if its out there) using the autohide feature using the FLV Playback Component.
Current situation: Using ActionScript 2. The FLV component fills the stage. Autohide is set to true.
It looks to me that since the video fills the stage, the skin will not hide. What I would like to do is have the skin fade out if the mouse doesnt move for a certain period of time.
