ActionScript 3.0 :: Pre-load Swf When A Video Is Embedded On Your Timeline?
Oct 2, 2009
I'm working on a project where an flv will be embedded into the flash timeline and graphics will be animated overtop. My video is going to be around 3 minutes long, what's the best way to load this with out the view sitting idle while the entire piece loads?
My question is how do I incorporate playback controls to a Embedded Video that plays with the timeline? I saw how easy it was to add playback components when you import video externally. I figured that I probably need to start by creating my play back components, but then I need code to tell the swf what to do?
I'd like to gain read only access to the following parameters of embedded Flash videos located on sites that I do not own through my own custom browser extension/add-on:
Time location of playback head (so I can display the current time in the browser extension via HTML5/JavaScript) Frames (so I can make capture them to an image file, save it and display image in browser extension) Original Dimensions in pixels (so I can display the original video dimensions via JS/HTML5 in browser extension)
Is this possible by using Javascript and HTML5 from a browser extension?
Would I have to use something like the SWFObject Javascript API [URL]
I made a flash mp3 player and it works fine in any other test pages. but when i embed it onto my site it just shows blank. what do i do? my site is [URL] and the flash player i tested here [URL] and it plays. What im i doing wrong? i tryed everything. right now i just got it in a iframe but i dont want that iframe.
How do I link a button thats embedded in frame 2 (music page timeline) to a frame in the main timeline ( frame 3= biography page)? Both pages are on the same scene with link buttons embedded in each page independent timeline.
I have trouble in choosing between external video with playback component and embedded video . I have tried adding video to dynamic page and everything is perfect .This video I have imported using the option File ->import video -> external video with playback component. If I try to execute flv on another system , the video is not playing eventhough it is in library.
So, I have imported video using the option of embedded video and this worked fine on another systems as it embeds video. The video plays for only 2 min 54 sec. I have compressed the bit rate to how much ever I can in premier pro. It resulted in reducing the size of the file but still I see the video occupying more than 3500 frames in the timeline. I feel this is not optimal.
I'm looking for an animation timeline or video/audio timeline ui or maybe like a gantt chart thing that can be adjustable. It's basically draggable icons in tracks and bars that you can adjust the size of.
I may not have the correct terminology and such, but I have a simple symbol that plays, and then I have a timeline within that symbol that I want to play right after that. I named the embedded timeline/frame "trailer" so I used the action
gotoAndPlay("trailer");
this works if the named frame is in the main timeline, but it doesn't seem to be able to access the timeline within the symbol. Is there a different command I could use? Or am I doing something wrong?
I am trying to embedded an flv into a flash movie timeline that runs at 12fps.My source avi is 60 seconds in duration. However using cs3 video encoder with the frame rate set to 12 fps results in an flv that uses up 1440 frames of my timeline. In fact any frame rate selected always results in an flv of this frame length? Assuming that I need the flv to be 720 frames total (60 seconds * 12 frames), and not twice that duration as that would still have to be played at 24 fps. I undertand that there is a relationship to the original fps the movie was shot in (in this case 24fps) but will/does the encoder not produce an flv with the frame rate altered to match my timeline fps? or do you basically have to use a camera that shoots the original avi at 12fpsto get it to play in 12 fps timeline??
Is there any way we can stop the sound embeded in timeline directly?
We have an application that load SWF dynamically. These external SWF are not created by our company and other company has embed the sound in timeline. without use of any actionscript or anything.
Now we need to provide the MUTE option for our user, is there any way We can simply disable all kind of sound in any mode from our ActionScript code.
I've been given FLAs that contain audio embedded within the timeline. It's been a long while since I've had to deal with audio in this manner and I'm running into a problem.
The basic setup is this:
- There are 3 movie clips within the FLA
- Each movie clip contains embedded audio within the timeline
- The audio plays as soon as each movie clip begins
Here's my issue:
On the main timeline, there is a 'back' button which allows the user to move to the previous movie clip.
When the user clicks this button, it does move back to the previous movie clip; however, the sound does not stop which results in 2 audio files playing at the same time.
If I were calling the sound utilizing SoundMixer/SoundChannel, I know how to ensure the audio stops, but since the audio is embedded within the timeline, I'm not quite sure the best way to make sure the audio stops when the preceding movie clip is called.
I am having trouble with an embedded audio clip. (embedded in the timeline) First, the reason for embedding.... I need the audio (voice over) to correspond to the on Stage animations, and have words and animations appear when certain keywords are spoken. Second, here is what I have tried...
1) I have tried to embed the audio clip directly on the timeline. The audio file I am using is an MP3 created out of Garage Band. (Mac audio program) When I embed the clip, and publish a preview, it nearly crashes Flash Player. The audio continues to play, but all on screen animations are severely slowed and choppy. And I must force quit Flash Player to close it. Plus it is nearly maxing out my CPU during playback.
2) I removed the audio clip from the timeline, and decided to try AS3 to import and control playback of the audio clip. This seemed to work fine, no slowdown, less CPU usage, and on screen animations seemed to play normally. However, it is nearly impossible to sync the audio and on Stage animations with an externally loaded audio clip. (timing is always different depending on computer and internet speed.)
i am creating a survey with say 7 questions. each question has the same MovieClip symbol each with a different instance name, like q1, q2, ... q7.
the MovieClip symbol has 5 static texts and 5 SimpleButtons. i have some code in that symbol to make sure that only a single button has the "on" or "checked" state to show that that one is chosen. this works great.
my question is, how do i communicate each user choice with the main timeline after the user hits the "submit" button? or, how do i have code under the "submit" mousedown event that can iterate through the 7 symbols to query each one and see which of the 5 SimpleButtons is "checked" or "on". this iteration will then create a list of responses for all 7 questions.
ultimately, i will have flash concatenate a GET POST string that will send the survey results to a web server.
I've embedded a SWF into a class using this syntax above my class definition:
[Embed (source='/../assets/MyMovieClips.swf', symbol='SpecialMovieClip')] public class SpecialMovieClip extends MovieClip
The MovieClip asset seems linked with my class okay, and instantiates along with it, and is visible, but:
I can't access instances placed on stage within that clip. The timeline scripting seems non-functional.
Is this the drawback of embedding SWF files at compile-time with the Flex SDK? So, maybe I should just go back to compiling with the Flash IDE if I want timeline scripting or instances positioned on-stage?
I have a swf that has embedded audio on the swf's timeline which is set to Stream. This swf is then loaded into my main flash timeline via the loader class. I have a button coded as a toggle switch that pauses the loaded swf via the stop() and play() command. This works fine. The issue is that when the swf is paused (stop()), the audio is longer heard, but it continues to play. When I press my toggle switch again, the swf begins to play exactly where it was paused and the audio is now heard, but the issue is that the streaming audio is now out of sync since the swf timeline paused, but the audio continued to play. Is it possible to stop or pause the embedded audio on the timeline? I've tried looking at the SoundMixer static class, but this doesn't seem to help. I can use SoundMixer.stopAll(), but there's no way to start the audio again.
I am developing a flash web site using ACTIONSCRIPT 3. There is a menu of small icons that, when one of them is clicked, the program loads the correspondent SWF into a loader and then presents it in a "virtual screen" ( a rectangular area ) in the web page. The problem is that some of these child SWFs have an embedded background sound and I DO NOT KNOW how to mute them from the main SWF when a user decides to do so by clicking a "mute" button.
Each SWF embedded sound has its own layer in its timeline and is set as Sync: Event, Repeat:1.
i have an embedded video in my .fla. It's like the "background" of the scene. I need to slow down this video in a specific keyframe, and then return to the normal speed.
I have a video on a page and I cannot get the play list control to appear above it. I have set the z-index of the play list to 99999 but the video is still being rendered on top of it.
Here is an image that shows the problem and the CSS. I have tried setting the z-index of the video to -1, 1 etc. So my question is, how do I force the flash video to appear below the play list?
i'm trying to figure out how to get an embedded video I have to when it completes start a new function. For example I have running.flv embedded in a movieclip timeline called p2. And I want to have actionscript know when the video ends and start a new movieclip
This is driving me nuts folks. I've imported a video clip to my stage, added a skin for stop, play, pause etc. I test the Flash file using Control --> Test Movie and everything appears exactly as I want it to.
The problem is that when I upload the files to my server the embedded video clip does not appear, nor does the skin. Just a blank space
I'm working with Actionscript 3.0 and I'm working on a project that requires me to know where a certain point in a video is at all times and have it relay that information to me via trace. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to select a point within the video and getting that point to move with the subject.
I'm building a flash website where I'll show my tv commercial works. In the flash project I placed a FLVPlayback component that will play different flv videos. Those videos look very good and crispy when played in quicktime player. But when I export the swf from flash and play it the videos look bad with a lot of compression artifacts and pixelation. To show you what I exactly mean you can go to my website (url...) and click the 8th video in the scroll panel. Compare it's quality with the link to which refers the (url...)
I have created a preloader, to load a single swf file, that has embedded video and sound. It works when I test it, using Air 2.6 settings. But when I compile it, the swf plays, but the sound and video are missing in the swf. I addded the swf, the mp3, and flv files to be included in the Air app. Do I need to add a reference to them as well in the code, or is there some other reason they may not be appearing? Do I need to load the src files into the library of the preloader?
If I play the original swf, that is being called and loaded, it plays with the sound and video. The original swf, the sound src and the video src are all in the same directory with the preloader.fla.
Here is my code for the preloader. It is all in frame 1 of my flash file. The file does not have anything else, other than the dynamic text instance "percent" on the stage.
Does anyone know of any tutorials that explain how to make a seek bar with a handle that will be linked to the main timeline, so that when you move the handle the animation will move too, e.g. if you drag the handle to the centre of the bar then it will skip to the middle of the animation?
I currently have a handle that move on the x axis with in a set boundary, but not sure how to link it to the main timeline.
I would like to play a video in full screen. This is no problem when the swf resides embedded in a HTML document on itself, but..
..now it's loaded into another swf file called 'container.swf' (look at picture A).When the fullscreen function is called from within the swf file that contain the video and the fullscreen button, it goes to picture B. The other two swf files (swf1 and swf2) also goes into fullscreen. My desired result would be picture C.The video goes fullscreen within it's own swf file and does not "take over" the whole screen.
