ActionScript 3.0 :: RadioButtonsGroup Change Event On The Stage - Doesn't Respond

The situation: - some radio buttons on the stage (design time, flash GUI) - A quiz class What I want: - create a RadioButtonsGroup in the quiz class (not with the flash GUI) - assign all the radios to that group (radio.group = myGroup) - respond to the CHANGE event It seems not to work. The group gets created (all the radios of that group are indipendent from the others on the stage), but it doesn't respond to the event.

i have in my program few swf files and using mxmlc i compile the application into one swf file. when i open the swf from the output directory(just dbl click) everything works fine. But, when i copy the directory to another location in the hardisk the application stops responding (i can see my swf main picture and its buttons in it. But, when i click a button which just popup a message, it doesn't work!) Note: any location in my workspace, the swf still works fine. But when moving out the workspace it fails

I'm using AS3 timeline actions. I have a movie clip nested in another movie clip, which has five buttons. The code is on the parent movie clip's timeline. The buttons activate movie clips with tweens. I wonder why the buttons need to be clicked several times before I see the tween movie clips appear. Some times the movie doesn't even show up. Is it a script problem or something else?

My movie clip doesn't respond to gotoAndPlay(1) command at all. Here is the situation: The Main.fla has a movie clip instance "Mov1" and the following AS3 code in the first timeframe:

Once it's loaded it plays once (there is a stop(); at the end).So far so good but... the following code in the button script doesn't trigger any action at all:
Mov1.gotoAndPlay(1);
Any other code in that button works fine, so the button itself works ok.

I using the SSP component, and I scripted a custom event for clicking on loaded images to go to the next image.This is working very fine except for that the hand-cursor won't show up on roll-over on the image.I'd like this to happen, but dont't know how to.This is ths scrip I use now:

I'm trying to wrapup a slideshow for a client and the client asked for keyboardEvents in addition to buttonEvents. So I went ahead and added a stage.addEventListener and it works but only if you click on the stage first. In Flash CS4 itself when you test a movie, the problem doesn't happen but when you test it in a browser, the problem exists. Go to [URL] and see what I mean. Try the keyboard left and right arrows first. Then click on the stage and try again. How can I make it get focus on the stage on startup?

I've (actually my classmate) got a problem with loading local ZEND_AMF services on Windows 7 (XAMPP). I can't find any answer on Google or on Stackoverflow. No Error function call and No Complete function call. We've been searching for the cause and tried several things.In a ZEND_AMF tutorial on the Internet we've found an online AMF Service and put that in the code. Of course we're using a nonexisting service function so the responser will call the Error function. And yes, this works. He runs the function returnError(). The cause of this problem is obvious: Flash on my classmates PC (using XAMPP) won't load local services. Allowing swf to correspond with non-local URLs (is an option where you have to add your swf to the Flash settings) => Has happened

I've got an app where numerous Sprite objects are being placed on the stage, and then when an event occurs (mouse click most likely) I want all the Sprites to move, independently, based upon an algorithm that each Sprite has. I can't get the Sprite objects to respond to the event; I get no errors.

I have a scrollBar movieClip inside an interface that is not always responding to the onPress event. Sometimes, it works fine, and sometimes I have to roll off of the scrollBarMC for the cursor to change back to the finger and respond to the onPress event. Other times, it responds more than once to the event on just one click.
I realize that there could be other issues within my interface's code, however, when I trace my function calls they seems to not execute or execute more than once. Has anyone else ever run across such an issue with the movieClip.onPress event? Below is the code for the scrollBar mc. Anyone see something glaring?

So all that works fine, except when I add a onRelease event to a duplicated MovieClip it does not seem to respond. So I was wondering if the duplicateMovieClip function does not copy the button inside the original MovieClip. The code for the button is

I would like to create some text on the stage that does not respond to mouse activity. I've found that after adding a piece of text to a class I am using to draw, it covers up some of the mousing area of my class and disables the user from being able to roll over the other graphical elements...
Is there something like:

I am trying to add an eventlistener to the stage to respond to a resizing. When doing so i want to keep the relative position of a movieclip-object constant to the upper and leftmost edges, without changing the alignmode of the stage to top left. This can be achieved as shown below - examplified with two classes and reference to fla implied. The problem is now: When supplying the crucial statements with a Math.round, the movieclip-object gets displaced pixelwise with each new resizing:
myMovieClip.x -= Math.round((deltaX / 2));
myMovieClip.y -= Math.round((deltaY / 2));
Whereas the solution without Math.round is rock stable so it doesn't move at all, as it is not supposed to either! Can anyone figure out why? I know it's a luxury-problem, as my use case is solved. The problem is that i don't know why? Shouldn't the use of Math.round just assure the int-value? Such a small issue could easily spoil the whole app! And i fear that i have misunderstood something fundamental in as3, and suddenly become unpleasantly surprised.

I have a loop that goes through an array and duplicates (and positions) movieclips on the scene and loads JPGs into them with "loadMovie". I then try to attach an "onRollOver"-handler to the movieclip but it doesn't respond. Here's the thing: It works fine when I don't load the images into the MC instances... but as soon as I do, the onRollOver is not responsive anymore.
I read the telltale line "loading a JPG or SWF into a movieclip replaces it"... is that the cause of the problem? I mean- can I not refer to the duplicated MCs anymore as soon as I load something into them? How could I work around it?

I have trace statements in eveything and from this I know the despatcher in TellAllModeChangeToStudent is being called.The problem is that the listener in the main.as is not calling the function exp.I cant see why and I dont know how to check if the listener is actually seeing the dispatch event?

So basically I have a class which adds items and needs a drag and drop. I change the x value of the entire contianer class simply by this.x = something
By drag and drop all the items slide across the screen. When I trace the x value of the container class it has changed, but the x value of the items stayed the same (although their x value on the screen definitely changed).

I am displaying a combo box in something of a WYSIWYG preview. I want the user to be able to click on the combo box and see the options inside, but I don't want them to be able to change the value. I tried using preventDefault() on the change event but it doesn't work. I don't want to disable it because I do want the user to be able to "look inside" the dropdown.
So I'm trying to block the change, but can't. My next resort is to change the selected index back to what it was before the change, Is there any way to do this within the scope of a ListEvent.CHANGE event listener?
Current Workaround is to basically re-assign the controls selected item the same way I am defining the selected item when I originally build it (a default selection). So a user sees their change then it immediately changes back to the default selection.

I've been working on a project that requires lots of scaling around a center point.
I always thought that stage.stageWidth and stage.stageHeight give you the dimensions of the stage you set in the properties panel no matter what. But when I went into fullscreen mode (with scaling), both the width and the height changed to the dimensions of the screen rather than staying the dimensions I specified.

I have a moving vehicle on the stage, which should change directions according to where I click on the stage.I already made it work using this formula:var angle:Number = Math.atan2(dy,dx)*180/Math.PI+90;However, I need the car to tween to the correct angle, instead of just "jumping" to it. While this is easy enough to do, the car sometimes takes the longer turn (especially when I click in the bottom-left quarter of the stage), and it seems unnatural.

It works flawlessly the other way round. I can dispatch an event in a class (extends sprite) and my main .fla does catch it. The other way round it doesn't. To transmit a number from my fla. to the class (added as child) I dispatch an event, but the class never receives it. What's wrong. Initially I wanted to dipatch the event in another class, but as far as I understood, the event would never be transmitted from the other class as events only communicate to their parents.
Actually the image (uiloader) should transmit the loading progress directly, so the loading status bar could change its width. But as I couldn't get this to work, I started to dispatch another event from the main document which placed image and loading bar dynamically on the stage. How do I need to add the listener to the LoadingStatus.as, so that it can change the width by itself?

I'm attempting to use a custom event and cant figure out what I'm doing wrong.The event just doesn't seem to be either triggering or received.I borrowed the code from the internet, but I only know enough about custom events to sort of figure out what the code is doing.I have a movieclip inside of another movieclip.I need to close the child movieclip when a button on the child mc is pressed.I'm attempting to listen for a custom "close button clicked" event on the parent mc.[code]again...the event just never happens.I never see the output of the trace in the parent movieclip.I do see the output of the trace "OK button pressed" from the child movieclip though.
