I have been making a simple aplication and i have a problem i cannot find the solution (neither why it is happening) The thing i want to do is to dynamically add a canvas containing a button to the application and then i want the canvas to be moved from the left side of screen to the right. i have in my program few swf files and using mxmlc i compile the application into one swf file. when i open the swf from the output directory(just dbl click) everything works fine. But, when i copy the directory to another location in the hardisk the application stops responding (i can see my swf main picture and its buttons in it. But, when i click a button which just popup a message, it doesn't work!) Note: any location in my workspace, the swf still works fine. But when moving out the workspace it fails

I created an full flash template website loading external swf.Lately, I managed to add a fake3D rotation with AS3 and CS4 to this global template with an enterFrame.some of my external swf use a vertical scroller also using an enterframe function base on the x / y position of the mouse, the scroller dont work anymore.Can't an enterframe swf loads another swf with enterframe function?

I'm using AS3 timeline actions. I have a movie clip nested in another movie clip, which has five buttons. The code is on the parent movie clip's timeline. The buttons activate movie clips with tweens. I wonder why the buttons need to be clicked several times before I see the tween movie clips appear. Some times the movie doesn't even show up. Is it a script problem or something else?

My movie clip doesn't respond to gotoAndPlay(1) command at all. Here is the situation: The Main.fla has a movie clip instance "Mov1" and the following AS3 code in the first timeframe:

Once it's loaded it plays once (there is a stop(); at the end).So far so good but... the following code in the button script doesn't trigger any action at all:
Mov1.gotoAndPlay(1);
Any other code in that button works fine, so the button itself works ok.

I want to dynamically add different items to thumbContent canvas and use scroller canvas to scroll. I see than the height of thumbContent bigger than 7977 it truncate from scrolling. So - I see the scroller canvas with empty space on top. Then I scroll to bottom - I see the content of thumbContent and at bottom scrolling I see empty space too.

I'm trying to skin a canvas with an image (which is essentially a custom border for the canvas). I've been trying the backgroundImage style as well as the borderSkin style. I can't get the image to scale to the full size of the canvas though. I was wondering what the best way to go about this is.[code]...

The situation: - some radio buttons on the stage (design time, flash GUI) - A quiz class What I want: - create a RadioButtonsGroup in the quiz class (not with the flash GUI) - assign all the radios to that group (radio.group = myGroup) - respond to the CHANGE event It seems not to work. The group gets created (all the radios of that group are indipendent from the others on the stage), but it doesn't respond to the event.

I have a flash file that reads and XML file, it creates an empty movie clip in a placeholder (mc_image_holder) for each entry in the file, so 4 entries in the XML file = 4 movie clips inside the placeholder. it does this like so:

however, for some reason, the last created movie clip in the place holder never fires the onEnterFrame event more than once, so, If I were to trace the word "hi" I would only get it once, where as if I apply that to each of the other three that are created, it would put it many times, as it should.

I have a function that running on ENTER_FRAME inside another function that is called once on COMPLETE. I need to stop that ENTER_FRAME later on in the timeline. Here's the basic code:
myLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, startListener);

So you see when myLoader is COMPLETE it creates mySprite that is an ENTER_FRAME and continues to run the function playerBarPos. The function playerBarPos then traces over and over again "this keeps going and going". How do I later in the timeline stop this?

I have a whole bunch of onClipEvent(enterFrame){} events going on. Would taking all that code and putting it into just one mc's onClipEvent(enterFrame){} function lower cpu usage? What is a good way to have enterFrame functions die if not needed?
I have 5 nav buttons. The first two have sub sections. (1st one has 2 elements, 2nd one has 4 elements). The way I set it up, each of these buttons checks on the _y position of the button below it. I then use a move function with inertia to move the bottom button, and all buttons on top of move along with a springy feel. Also, when these move, I show the 2nd frame of each of the buttons in the corresponding section, for it shows the text of each button. This is the way I am doing it right now (By setting everything in one enter frame function it seems to run a lot smoother than when each element had its own enterframe function for just one line of code):

I have a loop that goes through an array and duplicates (and positions) movieclips on the scene and loads JPGs into them with "loadMovie". I then try to attach an "onRollOver"-handler to the movieclip but it doesn't respond. Here's the thing: It works fine when I don't load the images into the MC instances... but as soon as I do, the onRollOver is not responsive anymore.
I read the telltale line "loading a JPG or SWF into a movieclip replaces it"... is that the cause of the problem? I mean- can I not refer to the duplicated MCs anymore as soon as I load something into them? How could I work around it?

I put TextInput component in the Library, as suggested in many forums. But when I do this, and I try to test the program, it simply doesn't work... some images disappear and buttons don't work. If I start a new project and put TextInput I don't have any problem, that makes the problem very weird. Do you have some idea what's going wrong?

it seems like my prog doesnt really care about the "for" loop at the bottom. anybody know why?i can move my character left and right, but when i press space, he "jumps" 1 inch, but he doesnt do whats demanded in my loop :/i know i wont be able to make him jump again and the jump would look weird etc. but for now id just like to make him do anything when i press space.[code]

My program reads a rather large data file that is crucial to the display of the program I am making.I have an event listener that waits for my loader to load all data from the file, and it then adds all the data (and parses it) to a 2d array.Unfortunately the program flow doesnt wait for the loading to finish, so when it checks the array, it is still empty because nothing is loaded into the array yet.

I'm in the final stages of a project, and I am in trouble for not having bigger tests on lower end computers. It's a game, and frame rate may vary for low end computers on certain intensive parts. This creates a de-sync with the Timer class as it counts real seconds, unrelated to the fps.The frame rate is 30. Bugs start to occur on anything <20, specifics don't matter, but I should have expected that. And now I should fix that.
What would you suggest? I could write an enterframe timer class (counts frames, won't go desyncd). This means I'll have many enterframes events (opposing many Timers right now) - is this significant, cpu-wise? How is it in comparison?Btw this occurred to me as I tried the application on my N900, didn't really expect it to run properly but the device's a beast and it did. Everything worked, slowly but worked, except the fact things got out of sync.

I'm using Flex 3.5 and I have a Text object with an anchor set in the htmlText property. The link only works on every other click. Is this a known problem in Flex?I've done a simple case and I've found out that I get this problem when the htmlText is inside a TabNavigator object. If it's outside it works as expected.

I would like to create some text on the stage that does not respond to mouse activity. I've found that after adding a piece of text to a class I am using to draw, it covers up some of the mousing area of my class and disables the user from being able to roll over the other graphical elements...
