ActionScript 3.0 :: Remove Scroolbar After Resizing Page?
May 7, 2010When a user resizes the page(using the corners) the horizontal/vertical scroolbars appear if the page is 2 small.
Is there a way 2 remove the horizintal/vertical scroolbar?

Apr 21, 2009I am building a flash site for my own photography business and the site is designed in such a way that it will scale from 1200x720 down, but never up. So on the biggest monitor, the biggest this should get is 1200x720.
I am having an issue where after you resize the page down smaller than the biggest, i the main container of the content "mainStage" is too small, and even after maximizing the window, it is still stuck on a small size.
-- if you refresh the page with the window at ANY size, it works PERFECTLY.
-- if you resize the browser without refreshing the page, you will reproduce my issue.

i really want to get this resizing dynamically to work before i work on the rest of the page.
HTML Page - MovieClipLoader And Resizing Stage
Aug 5, 2009I'm currently trying to have a swf file to show up on an HTML page when the page initially loads. When the user clicks the close button (on the swf file), the swf disappears and the rest of the content on the HTML page shifts up. Similar idea to how CNN occassionally have their "breaking news" banner on their homepage. In order to do this, I thought of the idea of creating a 1x1 pixel main swf file containing a MovieClipLoader function to load the "content" onto the swf file.
As the user clicks on the close button, it will unload the external swf, returning back to the 1x1 main swf. However, how do I get the 1x1 main swf file to resize to the size of the external swf? and to do the reverse when the user clicks the close button? So far I have the MovieClipLoader function working, but not the resizing.

May 31, 2010I made a website using AJAX (with jquery) for the navigation.The pages of the site are sliding and I use remove() to destroy the old page.
Every thing seems alright, but some times the browser crashes when he tries to remove the old page containing a Flash object.
How do i remove this Flash's object for my page without having the browser crashing on my face ?Is there a way to stop the Flash execution before removing the object ?

Nov 1, 2010I am not simply trying to contain things and have the container resize without the contents resizing. I would just use a simple MovieClip for that.. My main focus is on the use of BitmapFill. I'm trying to make a repeating background image for a container; thus far I'm able to draw my BitmapFill sprite to the size I want. (Which is the stage's height) but when the stage is resized, I want to re-size my container but have my containers BitmapFill crop or add more as the window is resized bigger or smaller. Allow me to illustrate what I mean:
I've got a simple rectangle sprite that fills with a bitmap from the library and a simple resize handler function that detects when the window has been resized.what I would like to do is have my rectangle resize to the height of the stage.stageHeight maintaining its bitmap fill, but not resizing the bitmap fill or any children within the sprite.
From what I've read, this is a little tricky because the sprite resizes in relation to what it contains.. or.. something like that.. I really don't know any more.. I saw one example where a person extended the sprite class but I don't know why or how..

Sep 11, 2009I'm loading a few pngs/jpgs externally so they can be swapped out occasionally, and the issue I'm running into is when they are shrunk they become fairly choppy. Is there a way to have flash re-render them, or do something to smooth the resizing as opposed to going in and resizing every file manually myself?

Jan 26, 2009i'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,

Sep 22, 2009When i zoom into the page then move around the edge of the page can be moved past the edge of the browser window showing the static page which appears at the start of the document. Is it possible to use actionscript to stop the page being dragged past a certain point so the static page is not seen? On the example below the static page is white so it does not pose too much of a problem however im using the static page as a sort of instruction page and it looks a bit rubbish if the user drags a page past the edge of the view window and see's the original page. Unfortunately it won't work to have the preloader loading at the top while the rest of the html below is visible — it will end up looking like the top navigation is cut off, as the top 10 pixels of the nav bar is actually in the swf header (fully loaded it will look contiguous)Is there a way to preload it in one html page and then once it's loaded into the cache automatically jump to the page with the big swf?
