anyone have a fla file (flash document with swf file) to rename a notepad file (text file) / Create a notepad file (ex : Test.txt) in Drive C or D or place where we save the fla file. I don't care about inside the test.txt.... "abc" or no text...
I need to rename an xml file and then change its contents so I use this:ActionScript Code:[code].....
On the event complete,I open the xml i just renamed, open it, change some information and then I have to write it, however flash tells me the file is still being used :S
ActionScript Code: function renombrarArchivo(e:Event):void{[code]....
Am I doing something wrong? I mean I'm using the onComplete on the moveTo to make sure the copy is done and then I open the file to be able to overwrite it, however flash keeps telling me the file is still open.
I have recently deployed a website created in Flash CS4. Some of the user reviews about content are rolling in and most people agree that I mislabeled a button "References" when it should have been "Referrals".This website only has six pages but the Reference button occurs on almost all of them.Is there a quick and easy way to change the button text without changing anything else about the functionality of the button.
I'm working on a flash project and wanted to rename an .as file. When I changed the name, the .swf breaks. Is there anyway I can remap the .as file to the .fla from CS5.5?
just wanted to know where is it preferred to keep your .as files? I've seen examples where people store them in a separate folder (ex. Actionscript/MainTimeline.as) but I've also seen examples where people just keep all the .as in their .fla file.
I tried to use the following to rename and move a flv file to a different folder but it doesn't work.....I tried several combinations but can't seem to figure out how to do it.
fileObject3 = new File("streams/"+insID+"/"+stream+".flv"); fileObject3.renameTo("streams"/"adName"/"+adName+".flv");
I'm working as a freelancer in a flash project. The project includes a list of as2 files which I need to edit and debug. I was going to do that using flash cs3 but every time I try to open an as2 file I get an "Unexpected file format" error message. The files are strictly text and (not binary), but it seems flash cs3 won't open files with a '.as2' extension (e.g.scriptfile1.as2). If I rename the file so it holds the .as extension (e.g. scriptfile1.as) then cs3 opens it fine. Unfortunately I cannot rename these files since I'm not the owner of the project, I merely make some modifications.
I have created a static text in my FLA file and for some reason when I convert it to a movieclip symbol, my setting of the text - such as the letter spacing - are no longer. It scrunches together and looks pixelated. Any knowledge as to why? It was not doing this a while ago but I don't see what I have changed!
I am using CS3 / AS3 to create a kiosk app. As part of the kiosk I need to create an external file that I can append with visitor comments (2 text fields and 2 radio buttons). These would then be approved by a museum administrator and copied over to another text file that gets read into the kiosk and displayed. I'm not having any trouble reading in an external file, but I'm finding so many conflicting things about writing an external file with AS3.
Is there any example or codes (in Flex) that can I create and save these values as a TXT file (data.txt). These values as a structure should be like below.
I'm trying to create a flash app that has 2 things inside. An InputTextBox which is called txt_userinput and a Button called btn_submit.
Bascially, the user just need to type in some word in the InputTextBox and press btn_submit. The data will then be sent to a testing.TXT in my DESKTOP. My .FLA file is in MY DOCUMENTS while the testing.TXT is in my DESKTOP.
Question 1: Question is, how do I make the data from txt_userinput to be sent to the .TXT in my DESKTOP?
For example, the user typed "Hello, how are you?" in the InputTextBox. In the .TXT file, I want it to show "Hello, how are you?".
PS: testing.TXT file is already created in the desktop, just waiting for flash to write the data in and keeps on adding more data in the future in the following format.[code]...
I'm looking to create a slideshow that needs to automatically advance, with each slide having 2 pictures and a short text description, each which would be unique for each slide. The file name for the pictures and description are contained in this xml, currently my XML file has the tags in the format <pic1> location.jpg </pic1>, each grouped for the slide they both need to be on.
I have a banner rotator fla file that has an xml file for producing the content.How do I rename the xml file from"config.xml" to "BannerConfig.xml" and still have it work with the flv file?
I made a basic text editor that lets users insert predefined strings into the document with button clicks. What I need to do now is let the user define their own buttons and string values. For example I have a button that inserts "Hello" into the text. The user may want to create a button that adds "Goodbye".To accomplish this I figured I would create a .txt file called buttons.txt or something. i would readutfbytee, loop through it to create the buttons. problem is I know what I want to do but not sure where to start
So i have an external text file organized like this:
/* $file: data.txt */ &title0=Sacrum &detail0=Detail text for Sacrum &title1=L5
[Code].....
There are 28 of these 'title' and 'detail' pairs. The 'title' text is to fill a dynamic text box and the 'detail' to fill another dynamic text box depending on which section the user is mousing over.
My issue is getting the text from the file stored into arrays. For my test loop I keep getting undefined as the stored value, and i know it has something to do with converting a string value to object..
var lv:LoadVars = new LoadVars(); lv.onLoad = handleDataLoad; lv.load('data.txt'); function handleDataLoad (success:Boolean) {
I want to create a simple high score list of 10 high scores of a game. From reading the forums I seem to get the idea that flash cannot create a simple text file. I don't have php or asp but do have cgi capability. Does anyone know where I can find a simple cgi-script that will allow me to write the text the cgi receives to a simple text file: game.sco I want to be able to write a single long string to it so that I create a string of values and can load it back in using flash loadvariables. I can create the string in flash... but how do I write it to a text file using a cgi script? the text file would include this string...I already know how to read it and split it to parse it into arrays:
I have a flash application that is split into 12 frames at the top level.When I view the Actions pane, the Scene 1 list reads:ActionScript: Frame 1ActionScript: Frame 2etcIs it possible to rename the frames so the list becomes more readable? egActionScript: IntroductionActionScript: UnitsetcI've tried with frame labels and that doesn't seem to work.
I'm wondering if there's a fancy option to rename ALL movie clips in a library at once.I want to import a full library of movie clips into a different project, but both projects have similarly named movie clips. Is there an option to import them but just add "1" to the end of the name or something? All I want to do is quickly add a letter or number to the end of a huge list of movie clips.
I am trying to create html links from a external xml file to be dynamically added to a text field (im using flash builder)the process i am having trouble is: -Loading an external swf which contains the textfield loading external xml which contains the cdata with links adding the cdata to the htmltext property of the textfield the link is showing correctly, the mouse turns into a hand... but when i click on the link it doesnt work. i have seen a few forum posts similar to this problem but all are using textfield control in flash builder but im trying to add the cdata into an externally loaded swf which holds the textfield.
My testing on the Mac side is pointing toward the Behaviors palette as to the culprit in this issue. As soon as I open that palette in my workspace, the ability to double click on a layer name in the Timeline palette stops. I have to right click and select Properties from the popup menu. Resetting my custom workspace does resolve the problem.
