ActionScript 3.0 :: Retrieving Page Number From PDF?

Mar 20, 2011

I'm not exactly sure if this is possible (I had at one point researched this and found no information on how to accomplish this task) but I would like to know if there is a way to send the current page number that an swf is embedded into within a PDF file and send it into said flash object for adjusting the scene.

As I could not find out how, before, I decided that the best route would be to have the main swf localconnect with another swf object that will relay a static page number to the main object. Of course the problem with going that route is that I will have to embed separate page-relaying objects per page with static page values represented within them, and when this project grows in size that will prove to be cumbersome task. This is an issue that I am willing to "suffer" through and already on the path of accepting ~ I just wanted to be sure that there wasn't a smarter way to go about this process.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Gallery Page With A Bunch Of Page Numbers - Click On A Page Number, The Over Script Should Stop Until Go To Another Page?

Jan 26, 2009

i'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,

function over(event:MouseEvent):void {
this.gotoAndPlay(30);}
function out(event:MouseEvent):void {
.....

ActionScript 1/2 :: FlippingBook Flash Component Add A Page To The Number Each Time

May 7, 2009

I wonder if anyone on here has any experience of the above component . It produces 'turning page' books from jpegs and I'm having problems with one aspect of it. I've created a 'GO TO' button where the user can enter the page number that he or she wishes to visit. It all works beautifully, with one problem. The FlippingBook component is set to start at page '0'. This means that if the user enters '5' in the GO TO page box and clicks 'GO', he or she will be taken to page number 6, rather than 5, because what we are calling page 1, the component calls page 0.

I need to try and find a way around this, as if we're working on existing brochures with contents lists and index numbers, it is not feasible to just change all the page numbers. I would think that I need some code to tell the component to add a page to the number each time, but I'm not clear what the code should be or where it might be added.

Flex :: Get The Number Of Incoming Links To A Page Through The Google Search API?

Jan 25, 2010

I am trying to get the number of incoming links to a page through the Google Search API. It is not working (just returning Null)

Here is the code

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute" creationComplete="init();" width="320" height="480" backgroundGradientColors="115115" backgroundGradientAlphas=".2" backgroundAlpha=".2" dropShadowEnabled="false">

So the data return from the query is correct, and the difficulty lies in accessing the "estimatedResultCount" near the end of the JSON data.

Is it possible to link to a specific part of my flash movie from an html page. Is there any way to link to a frame number or label? The site is html based, but the intro/home page is flash. I don't want users to have to see the intro every time they go back to the home page from somewhere else within the site. Is there something that I can append to my link on my html page to make it go to a specific frame in the swf?

Retrieving The Value Of An Array Variable?

Jun 19, 2009

I have an array variable called ball[#], which value starts at 0 and is incremented up to 8. I also have a corresponding array variable called _ballPlaced which returns true or false if a ball is placed in a target zone. What I would like to do is retrieve the array value variable from the ball[#] at any time. For instance, the ball[#] variable can be clicked and dragged, so when it's selected it becomes the event.target. E.g. How can I put the array value of the ball[0] in the ball _ballPlaced array.

ActionScript Code:event.target._ballPlaced[/* retrieve vale of ball[0] array i.e. 0 and put it in here */]

ActionScript 2.0 :: "Number Of A String VS Number Of A Number" AKA Conversion

Jul 14, 2011

Inside my code i have some variables declared as Numbers, and i get some others from an external source; these variables can either be Numbers or String representation of Numbers. Now, i have to implement some equality controls on these variables, and since i don't know in that moment which type are them of, i'm converting all of them to Numbers (i don't need and neither want to compare strings) via the Number() function which accepts either Numbers or Strings as an input. These controls can compare 2 single variables or a variable and a sum (or subtraction) of other variables, for example:

ActionScript 2.0 :: Retrieving R, G And B Values From Colour?

Mar 28, 2011

I have a game, in which the player can open maps to edit them. The maps each have their own colour. The player assigns a colour to the map by using sliders (R, G, B)
This all works fine.

However, I also need a way to put those sliders back in place when re-opening an existing map. This means that I need to know what the percentages of R, G and B are in a colour. I made flash trace a few of those colours, this is the output:

16646398
0
16646144
65024
58878

I need to know the amounts of R, G and B in any colour.
