View 3 RepliesI'm having a problem with a hitTest that I'm not sure how to correct. Long story short, I have a box that is added to the stage and beings to tween down to the bottom. If the user presses the left arrow to catch the object before it leaves the stage, they get 1 point (hooray!).The issue that I'm having is this...multiple instances of the same MC are supposed to be added to the stage by a timer but because of how I've set it up, they all have the same instance name. That leaves me with one of 2 options. I can get the hit test to work, but only 1 instance ever actually shows up or a bunch show up, but the hitTest fails. How can i add multiple instances of the same object, but still be able to determine if one of them is overlapping the box when the user hits the arrow key?[code]

initially, after i run a trace on this, it comes out false. what i am wanting to know is how i can continually update this so that when my ease clip glides into the other clip, it will recognize it and do something like this.

the problem is, my hit test seems to be static and does not update. anyone who could explain to me how to make it check this condition would be much appreciated. maybe something with setInterval?
I'm trying to create a game and I need to test if two objects touch each other. the problem is, that the hitTestObject fires before the two MCs actually touch... This is worse if one of them's rotation has been changed. How can I overcome this and get a better hit test? Is there some sort of ready class that deals with this?

At first I didn't need to test it on the emulator since I have an actual device (Android 2.3.7) but since users have been reporting issues about the app on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), I want to test it now in the emulator.[code]...
I want to test my new Air iOS and multiple devices (iPhone v3, v4, touch, etc.). There are excellent resources from Apple on how to do this for Xcode, but I can't seem to get any of them to work for Air iOS. I can create the new provisioning file and .ipa file, but fails to upload onto any other devices (but it does appear in iTunes, but the add box gets unchecked when I sync).The last resort is to build multiple .fla versions of the same app for testing each device (plus certs and provisionings), but that seems crazy.

I have 4 objects and 4 targets,
I want to be able to drag any of the 4 objects onto any of the targets, right now all I can manage is to allow each object drop onto one specific target only.
I thought by calling all my target names by the same instance name eg target_mc that would work but only one target will ever work.
I currently have an over, out and click event for 8 different objects. The over and out events are identical for each (tween expands object and then shrinks it back for the out state).I have previously asked for an easy way to declare those events, and now I was looking for an easier way to handle them.

I've tried using a single function and then using "this" as the object of the tween but that expanded the entire stage.
for instance I have head or tail game. a coin first comes to the screen as head or coin not visible. but program has assigned already for its a game. and I have two buttons, head and tail. it asks head or tail. I push one of the buttons. (up to here I can handle all the codes). but now if I guess it true, I want the program to ask it again. (I can also handle the code up to here, if I push the timeline for example 100 key frames, as knowing 100 over and over is almost impossible).
But by which code I can make the test continue Without multiple keyframes.
I'm making a binary socket server for Flash and I'm trying to figure out a way to run Multiple clients in a local environment for testing purposes. Tried to run the exported flash movie in my browser (to open multiple tabs of flash swf) but I just could not figure out how to solve the cross-domain problem. I'm running my server right from my PC (localhost) and just simply want to test my darn Flash document multiple times so I can simulate multiple clients.

I just want one return, true if the character is hitting a movie clip in the array, and false if he isn't.

I'm trying to test a custom Flex 4 skinnable component, using the FlexUnit UIImpersonator class. If I run my tests from a FlashBuilder Spark only project everything works fine. If I try to test from a project with the mx component set on the classpath I get a "getElementIndex not available in non Flex 4 projects" error.Can I unit test spark components in FlexUnits visual test environment while still having the mx component set on the classpath?
UIImpersonator delegates it's method calls to a "testEnvironment".The implementation used for this "testEnvironment" is decided by the VisualTest EnvironmentBuilder class and the FlexEnvironmentBuilder class. If the FlexEnvironmentBuilder class can find the "mx.core.Container" on the classpath it returns a MX environment, else a Spark environment. Only the spark environment has valid implementations for Flex 4 relevant method calls on the UIImpersonator - like the addElement method.
My buttons only work when I click on them on the stage while having the "enable simple buttons" option on. They do not work if I try to "test movie," "test scene" and publish it to a SWF. Nothing responds whenever I am in these modes. I am using Adobe Flash Professional CS5 Actionscript 2.0.

i have a movie that has worked fine in past during Html test but ive been doing some dubugging using the flash test latly and it runs fine here but when i go back and try to test in Html mode no errors come just the movie never fully starts (starts up about as much as if there was an error).

second button takes you to frame 3
but on scene 2 that performs same function as scene 1, the first button

instead of going to frame 2 goes to frame 3. and the second button goes correctly to frame 3.that happens when i test scene! when i test movie all buttons work properly.

The example movie clip on the left (called "PICTURE_WIPE") is what I'm going for, but interactive instead. I'm working in the movie clip on the right (called "PICTURE_WIPE copy 2")

In FlexUnit 1 it is possible to access the name of the currently-running test using the TestCase.getName() method because all tests subclass TestCase. In FlexUnit 4, however, there's no base class for tests; the tests are identified by annotations. So, how can I replicate the getName() functionality in FlexUnit 4?

However, I need this code to apply to multiple objects at once so that they will move left and right and resize independently from each other (to give this sort of 3d revolving look). I am creating a small game for a project im doing it is only ten levels long but I wish to include feature such as saving etc. I have one some research on Shared Objects and it seems to be the best method. The idea I wish to execute is to have at the end of a level after reaching the levels goal have a piece of code that runs and saves that the next level has been unlocked. This seems relatively simple. However i have done things awkwardly i think, instead of creating the whole game within a single fla. each level is a seperate file, eg. level1.fla, level2.fla etc. Is it possible to use the same shared object across multiple .fla's?

View 7 RepliesI hv make a movieclip it's linkage name is thumbmc,I make its duplicate instances 10 times and load external thumbnail jpg's,I give names to these instances to th0... th9, all events and effects working fine but i m opening a large image while clicking on any thumb..the problem is.. i want when i click on any thumb then all thumbs will be fly and goes out of screen,, but when i try to tween then it shows error.. th0 object not found.......

I would like to know if I can get an error or some other problems when I try to tween several objects like this and using an onComplete-property:

What I want to do is fade out several objects at once and when they finished a special function gets called. Are there other possibilities when using tweenlite available or do I have to use timelinelite?

I call a function with some saved animation code where I just need the selected (mouse clicked) object to animate. On the first occasion when you click the object, that object animates just fine. The problem is, if you click another object, that new object and the prior one(s) you clicked on all animate as well.[code]
View 0 RepliesI just wanted to know if there is a way to startdrag() multiple objects at once. I don't want to use the mousemove/enterframe + x And y offset method of dragging, but just use the built-in startdrag method. Making startdrag function multiple times with different objects didn't work.
View 3 Replieslets say i have 3 MovieClips: Tank1, Tank2 and Tank3. And i want to set them hittest or other setting. Its not wery dificult to do that, but i dont want to write the code if i create Tank4... I want my code to get all the tanks with a number, ant set them a setting, because there may be hundreds of tanks... I know it's posible on AS2, but i don't know about AS3.
