I have a problem with simple image switcher - i don't know how to reload the image loader once loaded picture... i successful load first pic from xml data, then i try to change the var(i++) to get the next picture and it does't switch :/

A while ago, we created a replacement shell to run as a front end for a cybercafe. It was nothing fancy; just a flash movie that had button links to IE and a few trusted applications.
I'm trying to develop it further now and am wondering two things:
1. Is it possible to send an application to a frame within a movie? For example, have a static movie at the top with links, then when a button is pressed, the menu remains but the application opens below without overlapping. I know I can use HTML and frames but really want to keep it all in one movie/swf.
2. Is it possible to build on the above and have some sort of application lister that will allow you to switch between the two applications you have running. For example, a user may opem IE, the open Word. Word has now replaced IE and I want the user to have a simple click button to go back to an existing window rather than open another instance from the menu.
I'm trying to install the Firefox add-on called Flash Switcher. I'm using Parallels on a mac and I"m trying to install it on Firefox 3.5.8. Problem is it won't install. I click the install link and it downloads and then it says restart Firefox to finish the installation but then when it restarts the add-on still isn't installed.

I'm trying to find out how to make a simple image gallery which changes image upon a mouse click on a button, when a button is pressed I want the image to slide in from the left into the viewable area and then when another image is selected I want the previous image that was viewed to remain in the screen and then the new image slide across over the top to replace the image.
I can get the images to slide across from the left upon a mouse click however I can't change the layer order so if image 6 is viewed and then I click to see image 1, the image will slide into place however it will be below image 6 so therefore not viewable.
I don't have an example of what I'm after but I hope my explanation was good enough, I've seen this been done in javascript but I have to use flash and am unable to replicate the effect I'm after
I'm trying to create a simple image player that tweens from one image to the next every 5 seconds. The data is being pulled from xml.
So far, I have managed to load the image onto the stage, but am now stuck as to how to get it to remove the child showing, the add the next child every 5 seconds.

I just need some help on quite a basic topic. Essentially I want a very simple image viewer. There are small thumbnails on the right, when one of them is clicked, a enlarged version of that image shows up next to all the thumbnails. When another thumbnail is clicked, the new image replaces the previous. I have searched google however all I find are more complex image viewers which you download and link to a gallery...

I have a vary simple code for loading an image. The code is working fine when I compile the swf file in flash or when I publish it in html. The problem is when i start the swf file out of Flash or publish in AIR - then Event.COMPLETE desn't trigger. Here is the code:

I'm not sure how to load it from a flash file and I know there is work that has to be done outside of flash like in the root folder. I'm trying to make a simple horizontal image gallery scroller. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here. I've gotten the slider tab to work properly, but the masked image gallery is not moving at all when the slider is pulled. I included the Flash 8 FLA for the scroller in the post below.

I need to make a simple Flash-based sound player for a website for a newly-released novel (http://www.bearriverbooks.com/index.html). I want the user to click on what appears to be an icon (or image), which kicks open a simple controller and starts playing a sound file (a radio interview, which I will probably export using Flash's voice compression). Nothing fancy. Just want the visitor to hear the sound and be able to apply simple controls (stop/start/rewind/volume).
I can learn ActionScript, I suppose, since I used to dream in Lingo, but my life would be a lot simpler if I could just publish a controller without having to roll my own. I'd like to think there's a magic button somewhere that can do this, but I haven't found it yet.
