I want to control some movieclips animation using a slider. I have this code for a custom slider, but I don't know how to link the track of the slider with each movieclip timeline.

i want to create a slider that controls 2 images and when you move the slider to half 50% it will have to show 50% of one image and 50% of another image . when i'm at 70% i want to show 70% of one image 30 of the other.the problem is that i coudn't find a way to show just half of image , i don't want to move the image to the left and animate it , simply i want to cut the image in half.

I'm new to Actionscripting and I want to add a sound file to my project with controls to stop and play and a volume slider. I'm using this actionscript for the controls. It works but right now you need to click the play button for it to start. Is there a different way to write it so that the music starts playing when the scene starts, and then the user can stop or play it again and change the volume?[code]

I have a movie clip button called play_mc and when the user clicks on it I would like the timeline to stop and the play_mc state to change to frame two. Then when the user clicks on it again, I would like the timeline to start again and the play_mc to go to frame 1.

I have a flash document with 5 keyframes, each of these has a 'Label', which I then reference in actionscript like so:

I have an actionscript that controls the movieclips _alpha through instance names. The problem is: I habe a lot of movieClips and I will use the same action in all of them. The same action, just changing the instance name.
View 4 RepliesI'm trying to make a faux 3D rotation animation where if the user mouses to the right the object rotates right and if the user mouses to the left the object rotates left. Depending on how far they move the mouse the rotation should speed up or slow down.I spent a lot of time making an object in 3d studio max and importing the animation of rotation as JPEGs onto the timeline. I figured the most efficient way to go about this would be to make the mouse control the timeline instead of the object itself.

I have an animation of someone dancing, frame by frame over several frames, if I slide the timeline back and forth I can change the rhythm and speed he dances and make him dance in time to whatever is playing on the radio! I would like to make this sliding timeline an interactive element, so I want the viewer to be able to slide the position of the timeline for the dancing frames so they can make up there own routines, so they are essentially sliding through the different frames back and forth how they choose, can you point me in the direction of a tutorial for this type of thing or is this something you have done before? I guess what I am trying to achieve is similar to a rewind/fast forward slider?

I'm working in Flash CS3 and actionscript 2.0 but willing to switch to actionscript 3.0 if it's easier. So this is what I'm trying to do: I've got 15 images on a single layer, keyframes 1-15. I want to build a slider bar that controls the movement from one image to the next. I tried doing the slider bars tutorial [URL] and I can do the tutorial correctly, but i can't figure out how to adapt it to scroll through the keyframes.
Also, for now there are 15 images but there could be as many as 72.
Do I need to put stops in each keyframe as well?
My question is how do I incorporate playback controls to a Embedded Video that plays with the timeline? I saw how easy it was to add playback components when you import video externally. I figured that I probably need to start by creating my play back components, but then I need code to tell the swf what to do?

why does a MC inside another MC have different _x and _y values than the main timeline?What I am trying to do right now is animate a MC inside another MC then get the main MC holding everything to move where that new MC ended animating at (it's part of a game I'm making.)
I know it's confusing but Flash shows the cursors current X and Y in the info panel, which is the same as the main timeline. Yet inside the movieclip, an x of 76 and a y of 277 on the timeline is -195 and -30.9 (respectively) inside the MC.How do I fix it so I can get the _x and _y values to match up so I can tell the main MC to reposition itself to the new X and Y (of the inside MC)
I'm using AS3, CS5.5, on Windows764bit. I created an animation with many different layers (and nested movieclips) on the stage, then wrote a short bit of As3 to add a slider control of the playback. The problem/mystery is that when I change the slider, the nested MCs act strangely/independently. How to control everything at once? Here is the current file: [URL]

I am working on adding playback controls. So far, I've been able to achieve a working slider component that scrubs the external swf's timeline. However, it is faulty and the slider thumb doesn't follow move with the timeline of the swf-it just remains still. What I mean by faulty is that sometimes the slider scrubs the swf timeline and sometimes it fails with this error:

My problem with this is that It seems to be duplicating the first frame. When I slide the slider to the right it will hit first tick and still display what is in frame 1 .. then on the next ticks it will continue with the rest of the timeline. how to prevent / over come my slider from doing this with the first frame?
