ActionScript 3.0 :: Slideshow With XML And Links Not Loading/running Properly?

I managed to get the swf to load fine on this page (www.diamondraindesign.com) until I added a full-screen invisible button that goes over the slides. It uses the same counter to sync with them so that whenever someone clicks on it they go to the proper page. Unfortunately, now only the link works to the first page item, and sometimes I can't even see the slides 'loading' text, just a white background. If I take the link button out, the slides are fine. Why is the link interferring, and how do I get it to sync and not stop the slides?

i created a flash slideshow with pictures of events and link each picture with its own event (ie. each pictures has its own links to the website). I created the fade in and fade out effect using the class motion tween. With the link, I created a layer with a button that has alpha= 0 (so the user don't see it) and then I used code snippet to make another layer with the action script "click to go to url."
When the slideshow goes to the last picture I made it fade out and the first picture of the slideshow would show up and then the slideshow would replay itself (by default?). My goal is to make a continuous slideshow.
When I tested the swf file, the first time it runs, everything is right. The urls and the pictures are in correct order. However when the slideshow replays itself automatically, I notice that the links are incorrect. In the first play, when I click the picture of the event it would open the url of that event.However when the sldieshow replays, clicking the pictures would only open the url of the first event picture. When I click on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.pictures the browser opens only the link of the first picture of the slideshow.

I've got a function which looks at movieclips (ball#_mc) which have been placed in a target zone (_ballPlaced[#] boolean). It then decides where to go on each movieclip timeline depending on which other balls have been placed in a target zone.Only the first condition is ever met, i.e. when all the balls are in a zone, they jump to their correct places in their timelines....however, it doesn't work for any of the other 'else if' conditions?

I've got this FLA file, and when I preview it from Flash CS5, it works fine, but when i try to open the SWF outside of Flash CS5, it no longer works...

here's the problem...the whole site is in flash, and the text is scrollable...no big deal right...BUT he wants links throughout the text in various places. I was thinking of importing the text as a .as file, but how can I get the links to function properly? esp. since one of the links he has somewhere in the text is an "add to mailing list" link that I have set up to open in a separate borderless window...Can I script that all in the .as file, still import it as text, and have the links function as they should?
and will it be too complex for someone (who is lucky he can get his E-Mail without putting his foot in something) to update himself? Another difficulty... to do all this with a .as file I'm going to have to use a .css because he's a little font happy. the problem is the fonts are Not standard by any means. How do I load a font that a user dosn't have to the server so it can be referenced by a .css, and displayed via .as in a flash file?

I have created a pie preloader(preloader.zip) which is working fine. Same preloader I am trying to incorporate in a xml based slideshow(slideshow.zip) to show image loading process but some how I got stuck. I am new to flash. Suggestions are welcome.
1. How to solve the problem of preloader2. Is it possible to integrate everything in a movie clip (including AS). I mean no AS on main time line but inside the movie clip. It would be much easier then to to create multiple slideshows by duplicating mc and changing the xml file.

I've currently made a slideshow. I'm able to switch images in the slideshow with back and next buttons, however, I want it to autoplay properly. I've found a script that seems to work, but it switches images very rapidly.I want each image to stay on screen for 3 seconds before it changes.Here's the script i'm using

I am going to be making a flash intro that involves using the flash transitions to transition between pictures and video content. I'm not looking to use this whole code from the template, I just want to implement the transitions with the timer instead of a keypress event. One like as follows:

I have this rotating slideshow. It works just fine when you allow it move through the four images that I want to display, it resets properly. I need to work on the 'next' button. It doesn't reset properly.

I have a slide show that displays 6 images and is suppose to do a fade in / fade out (not an overlap fade) between each image. The peculiar behavior is that when the movie is testedlocally by using "Test Movie", the fades occur properly. However when the swf is viewed from the website, during the first cycle of the slideshow, the next image does NOT fade in. After the first cycle, the fade in occurs properly.

I have two separate slideshows in my document. The slideshow on frame 1 uses ixia_works.xml, the slideshow on frame 5 uses ixia_windows.xml. wrote all of my slideshow code on frame 1 and created a variable to hold the xml file. On frame 5 I assigned the new value of the variable. The slideshow on frame 1 works perfectly; the slideshow on frame 5 won't even load.

okay i have 2 nav sections. one starts to animate it's "entrance" and in the middle of it, i want the other to start running.
i can't figure out the best way to call the 2nd one to run. attachMovie? or what? and how/where do i attach it: root, level1? i'm afraid i don't get it.
oh and with attachMovie: it just attaches the movie with x=0 and y=0 (the top-left corner). is just following the attach code with

I'm loading XML, but I'm having trouble making a for loop so that I can output into text fields my xml info.I use this to load and put into the output window. Eventually I will put it into a text field.What I want really to do is for flash to output a list. This is what I want it to look like.

I decided to use a loader method for a flash project. When I load swf files from a folder on my computer into my main movie, it loads just fine. However, when I try to load the same exact swf files from a remote server, the script fails on me giving me an error like this: TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert Com@2f949bc9 to Com.I had imagined that this was due to security domains, so I had tried something like this:[code] SecurityError: Error #2142: Security sandbox violation: local SWF files cannot use the LoaderContext.securityDomain property. file:although everywhere states it should work.I even have makeshift class files for those SWF's on the server with Security.allowDomain(["*"]);

So I made a flash that uses a preloader, then once finished loading mc1 should be visible and playing along with a couple buttons. It loads properly most of the time, but maybe 10% of the time mc2 loads instead of mc1, no buttons are visible, and mc2 isn't even playing (refreshing the browser makes everything work properly btw). Is there some way I can make it load properly 100% of the time?

I have a form that loads from a request through a zip code widget from another page. THe widget populates two of the form fields immediately, on submit, on the new page.My problem is that I have a pretty complicated piece of flash on there as well that has ONE main issue.My flash is essentially a pie chart that lights up on mouseOver events and onClick events in the form check boxes.It works like it should except for the fact that on initially loading the page the javascript will not see the pre-populated check box and perform the corresponding highlighting action.This only happens in fields that are populated through the widgets, if a user checks the boxes it works fine as I have an onClick event handler attached to it.I wrote a preselect function that will determine if the field is preselected or not by a widget and then pass that on down the line to highlight it correctly (which it does as long as I have the alert functioning). Now, if I add an alert inside of the script (it doesn't matter where, as I've tried them in every function) it works like it suppose to and sees the fields that are populated immediately by the widget and highlights the corresponding field as it is suppose to.Why would an alert box be the only thing keeping this working. It is the simplest of alerts, but removing that breaks my code.Here is my code:(I placed three * on either side of the alert that I am talking about)

I am having a problem with loading external swf's. The external swf's when loaded.....run very very slow; sometimes unresponsive as if there is a script running in the background. I'm using keyboard commands to navigate through the screens - e.g.:

I made a simple slideshow type viewer for a client. It works wonderfully for me in OS X using Safari and Firefox, and it works in Firefox under windows as well. Linky Now, the guy writing the backend stuff for the site uses windows, and noticed that when you navigate *away* from the page, and then go back, the images don't load. In IE 7. He sent me a screenshot using some http debugger.
Screenshot So, we figured we'd use a "cache buster" in IE. I made the flash append "?<RANDOM_STRING>" when requesting the images, but it doesn't seem to do the job. The HTTP debugger shows the request occurs, but Flash never actually receives the image. Here's the entirety of the class "SlideshowImage" which is responsible for loading the images ( and other junk, like photo credits, etc ). Hopefully somebody with more AS3 experience can hit me with the proverbial clue stick. I've been writing AS2 for a long time, but AS3 for only the last 6 months or so. I've never seen these problems in AS2, so I assume I'm doing something wrong in AS3.
A final note. I know that the XML file which describes the slideshow is being correctly loaded, since I can see the correct copy overlay and other factors. It just appears that the images never come down the pipe.

Ive been having trouble with Flash Player for quite some time now. I can watch some videos, but it takes some struggling to get them to work.
For example, on NFL.com, I can't watch any videos by clicking "Play", the video will just grey out and remain that way forever. However if I can find the video on the list underneath the player, sometimes when I click on the thumbnail the video starts automatically and I can watch it.
On Patriots.com things are a little worse. The player controls underneath the video don't load at all and I cant watch
