holding shift and clicking allows you to drag the scroll panes into a different order. clicking one button in each of the scroll panes works fine. if you try clicking a second button in either of the scroll panes you will notice you have to click twice.
I made a few functions that should fade between tracks very simply. I start with track1, then call my initial function to fade to track2 -- works just fine. Then later when I want to call it to fade back to track1 it will fade track1 in but keep track2 playing (when the first time it properly fades the already playing track out) --Here is the code (all variables are defined earlier):
ActionScript Code: /* trans is my SoundTransform channel is my SoundChannel newSong is a holding var*/
My XML isn't exactly doing what I want. It's putting a lot of 'undefined' entries in my Flash file and it's not updating correctly and I don't know why it's doing that.Top square is add entry to XML, button square returns to the 'room'.
This is my Script:
ActionScript Code: package { //Import Stuff public class AddQuestionMenu extends MovieClip
I have 2 (vector roundtangle) movieclips on the stage both with scale9 enabled. When I tween them, scale9 only applies to one clip and not the other. I'm using mcTween but this shouldn't make a difference.

The bold entries are where the Tween class is declared and I expect it to behave smoothly but it is lagging in its response to the mouseOver event and mouseOut event.
Can anyone test this out on their system and see if they are having problems as I am? Basically as the mouse hovers over an active target the scale of the active target in X is supposed to change from 1 to 1.2 times the original scale in X and vice versa when the mouse goes out of the active target.
I have some sections that look for a (delayedAction) button press of >1 second or else it goes to a warning keyframe on the timeline. Once at the warning frame it stays for a couple seconds (slideIntervalNum) and then continues playing to the next frame which contains a variable telling it return to the initial frame it was at.IF the user taps the button for <1 while at the warning frame they back up another section in the timeline. This is all what i planned for but.
button for less than 1 sec and quickly moves back towards the beginning of the animation / timeline at some point something happens that makes it so that it does not want to obey the stop(); command at all! It will keep playing forwards frame by frame when no action is taken. And even if a button press of >1 sec is executed to stop and go to the next frame it still wont obey the stop(); command!!!some of my code that i am using:
I just finished a simple music player... For testing purposes. I upload it in the following address:http:[url]....with 10 music songs that I had recorded from radio stations(added the last 2 twice for testing).The problem is that when a song has totally loaded, stop action taken needs about 1 second to be applied!I.e. When I press "STOP", the sound continue to play for 1 sec before stop. When I push "pause" it takes one second for the music to stop!
However when using resume (second time pause) the sound starts instantly! Thus I guess there is an issue with stop()function of the SoundChannel object that I am using to stop the sound. Also notice that when unpause the music, it continue ~one second before the last sound - which means that I saved the soundChannel.position number (and also call soundChannel.stop()) in correct time, but it didn't stop immediately - bug!?
This only happens when the application runs through a browser(plugin v. 10) - programmed in CS3.
PS1. Notice that ,this also happens when I change Volume too. Thus because Stop and Volume are parts of SoundChannel, I guess there might be a bug with SoundChannel in online plugins..... :/
PS2. Notice that ,this also happens when I close the browser (firefox). Even if browser is closed the music continue for 1 sec the same way as when pressing stop!.. Thus I guess it's flash bug!...
I'm creating my first website. I've managed to create a homepage. On the homepage is a enter site button, which once it is pressed starts thetimeline... I have an actions/labels layer which I am writing my code in. On frame number 'one' is my code below.
stop (); enter_site_btn.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, buttonClicked) function buttonClicked (event:MouseEvent): void
I have loaded an external swf into an empty movie clip in my main movie. Movie clip works fine when I test the external swf by itself. Once I test the main movie and load the ext. swf file the movie clip stops working.
This movie clip will act as a button. It is a small folder tab that will move up once clicked and move down when it is clicked again. Will changing the _root to _parent work?

AS for the movieclip: onClipEvent (load) { speed = _root.variSpeed; }
i have attached the flash file and also xml file. Here i duplicate the movieclip, first for loop is working perfectly but inside of second for loop is not working properly.

I have created a swf (exporting) that have action script that adds childs to the stage. When i export the file and see the result it is all ok. But when i use de same file inside a uiloader the action script seems not to work because de childs doenst apeear in the stage.
I am new to flash and have recently just created a gallery. I have a scrolling gallery with thumbs and then some bigger images on top. What I am having trouble with is I would like to have a button attached to the stage that can be clicked to take you away from the gallery which is all implemented in actionscript 2 via an xml file.How can I attach a button that does that which is visible above the layer of the gallery so it is possible to see it and click it.
I have 2 frames and in frame 1 the target MC color is being changed to RED. After that i go to frame 2. If i came back to frame 1 the MC doesn't retain the RED color. What i do wrong. Please see the pictures.
I'm loading an external movieclip into an empty movieclip which is inside of another movieclip. But the movieclip I'm loading isn't properly centering to the top movieclip.
Way way way off of the top movieclip. I'd at least expect side2's 0,0 point to be in the upper left which would snap to the center point of this. But not even close.
I found a script which loads text from a TXT file. Now the code worked fine on a button, but as soon I put that code on a MC it doesn't load the variables properly. That meas; I don't any script errors, but the text doesn't appear in the dynamic texterea. Code: on (release) { loadVariables ("document1.txt", ""); mytext.scroll=x } Now I want this script to work on a MC!
Whenever I add a drag action to a movieclip and add constraints it doesn't work properly and the movieclip after its pressed jumps to the top of the screen.
I am trying to activate a rollOver-function when the mouse rolls over a movieclip inside of a movieclip.On the main window (root), first you rollOver a button where a window shows up with more options (movieclips).From stage, my first movieclip is called "catapultas_read_more" which leads to amother movieclip called "pic1_mc". The label that is going to play when mouse over on pic1_mc is "rollOn".I tried this.gotoAndPlay("rollOn); directly inserted to the movieclip, but the movieclip inside pic1_mc never starts
I'm creating a menu bar that is a movieclip and inside the movieclip consists of the buttons.Now the menu bar is twice as WIDE as what is visible on the stage.The only part you can see is the text 'menu' on a bar.Then when the mouse hits the bar, it flies across the screen to the otherside of the bar where the menu buttons are.Now the menu bar does its animation over 20 frames - the last frame being the frame where the menu buttons are now visible.
I have been using TweenLite for all of my easing. I was wondering what the code is for having a button inside a movieclip not active while the movieclip is tweening.Then when the movieclip does finish tweening the button then becomes active.
How can I get a button inside a movieclip link to a frame in another movieclip on the scene? I tried this code:
function gotoCenter(event:MouseEvent):void { MovieClip(root).centermc.gotoAndPlay(2); } skruetest.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, gotoCenter);
..where "skruetest" is the button, "centermc" is the movieclip where I want to go to frame 2. I dont get errors with this code, but nothing happens when I click the button. What can I do?
I want to apply actions to a movieClip nested inside a dynamicly attached movieClip, with the attachMovie method; it doesn't works when the movieClip is attached by a button:
1.when the swf movie loads with an attachMovie method the remove_btn clears the window_mc
I have a button inside a movieclip, to which I would like to apply a rollover function. When rolled over, this button (inside MOVIECLIP 1) would make (MOVIECLIP 2) jump to second frame. I'm using Flash 8.This is turning onto a real headache for me, since i've searched every single forum and thread concerning this matter, and nothing seems to work.
