ActionScript 3.0 :: TextFormatAlign.JUSTIFY Doesn't Appear To Be Working?

I have this in my code, but it doesn't seem to affect the the text in a single line text field that I am loading from XML. Can anyone offer a suggestion on how I can get my field to force justify one line of text?

I have problem with setting of TextField align. I set attribute align in TextFormat instance, then assigned TextFormat to TextField instance but i cannot see any changes when I run program.
I have this code:

this.nameLabel.defaultTextFormat = this.nameTextFormat;
trace(this.nameLabel.defaultTextFormat.align); //output is "right" what is correct.
But in real the label is aligned still left. The width of TextField is too large and text is short so I can see how it is aligned. In code, nameTextFormat is instance of TextFormat and nameLabel is instance of class which extends TextField (but there is nothing special in it).

I would like to set a fixed width for an input textfield with an embedded font. I would like to have the option to left-, right-, or center-justify the text. This is proving difficult.
If I set myTextField.autoSize = TextFieldAutoSize.LEFT;, I get left-justified text, but the textfield width changes with each keystroke. Same trade-off with TextFieldAutoSize.RIGHT and TextFieldAutoSize.CENTER.
Now, if I use TextFieldAutoSize.NONE, then I can fix the width and height of my textfield, making it the size I want... but the cursor is always blinking in the middle of the textfield. What's the secret to justifying that cursor to the left [or right] and the textfield staying the size I initially set it to?

I have a few textfields that require characters to exactly fit (left and right). The characters are loaded dynamically and always fit whatever number of characters there's room for in the textfield. I'd like to justify the text so that the last letter in a textfield is placed right by the right border. However, it doesn't seem to work. My guess is that it's due to the lack of spaces between characters (there are no spaces whatsoever in the strings I'm importing). For this project, I will be using around 12000 textfields, so there's no way I'm going to place every character in a single textfield and position them one by one, as it would take up too much processing.

Check out what happens after percentage loaded. It just goes to Frame 1 of next scene but doesn't play it.... although if you right click and click PLAY it will indeed play it.. How to get it to start upon 100% loaded?? I SHOULD NOTE that the scene that won't play has an embedded FLV in timeline

Take a look at [URL] I have made a preloader for a site but the tween dosnt seem to be working properly. Stop the page from loading as soon as you see the preloader. You'll notice that the preloader circle appears to shimmer, i have no idea why. its basically a photoshop psd file that i have dropped to the stage as a graphic and then done a motion tween to make it rotate across 24 frames. I have set the html page to show the flash at 'best' quality and tried it on a black background to see if it was an optical effect, but its always the same.

I have a class file that contains a for in loop. basically there are 50 states (movieclips) on the stage and here is what I have:

I don't think I understand enough about arrays or for in loops to understand why this isn't working... it traces the array, but not statesArray[states], and it doesn't change the alpha of anything.

im trying to make a simple BMI (Body Mass Index) Calculator but it doesn't seem to be working

I'm using Flex 4. I'm trying to apply a embedded font in all Alert components of the application, to get the same style that all the app, of course. I code in my CSS file:

The font-family worked to all componentes, but not to the Alert component. In alert the text message and title got unvisible. If I change to other font-family it works correctly, just the embedded font doesn't work on Alert component. Anyone got this problem? Obs: The embedded font worked in all the app, just the Alert no.

I decided to try to use setInterval for myanimation, which is just a mouse trail.However, I'm trying to get teh mouse trail to be a dynamic mask.In my previous swf this was achieved by using a holder mc with the animation inside and then using this as the mask. But this time I just canpt seem to hit on the right way to get it to work. The code I am using for the mouse trail is:

The ad on the bottom right of the screen (the one with lightning flashing) has an invisible button in its Flash file (CS5) linking to [URL]. This file is imported as SWF in Dreamweaver CS5.
The hyperlink works in Firefox, but not in Safari. Maybe it is just my computer.

I had a button when clicked, it would replace a different moviclip.This worked until I made the bulk of the code into a function and moved it to the layer, and then tried to call the function from the previously mentioned button. I am creating a website that has links to flash animations. i have created a folder called flash in the root folder and copied the relevant .fla, .swf and the .mp3 files into that folder. the animations are working fine but the audio isnt.it all works fine in flash itself.

am using bitmapdata to make me a nice lil' background image, and it works great...until it's resized. Whats happening is it's creating a new bgHolder clip on the resize, NOT resizing the current empty clip "bgHolder"Here's the code(taken from various posts)
