The list menu is used as navigation, so when the user clicks on one of the items, in the list, it goes to, let's say, frame 2.Now, on frame 2 I would like to change the information in the array so that the list menu now contains a new list of links.

My question, is there any difference to declare each array as such, before pushing them to the main array? trace(arr[0]);// i know it traces the arrays contents, but if it could, would it tell me this is data type Array , exactly the same as if i had declared it?

What I like to do is to get what's in [title] tag using HTTPservice, import it into Flex, and save it as array objects, and do the same thing for [content]. This way I can later refer the array object saying title[0] or content[2].
I have bought Learning AS 3.0 (O'Reilly) but I have been having difficulty getting one of the tutorials to run. The tutorial shows how to record data from a microphone to a byte array, playback the saved data and save as a WAV file. For some reason, I can't get this working. When the swf runs, the Flash Settings screen doesn't pop up to request permission to access the microphone but I can still trace properties such as gain.
I've uploaded a zip containing all the classes and an FLA - just use RecordMicrophone_Example.as file as the document class. Here is the problematic area of the code:

I have No problems inserting data from flash to PHP into MySQL,it's sendind them back properlly.All I'd like to see happen is for one row of data to be inserted into a dynamic text field. here's what i've got if i access this php file, it prints out a vertical list from
a single MySQL row,I was happy.

and Instead of the vertical list (which i would love to see)i get an unparsed data array.
My data grid is displaying stale data, rather than the real time data available in it's data provider (array collection). I've tried refeshing the data in the collection, but that has no effect. Below is my code, does anyone see what could be the problem?

I'm struggling shaking my old school AS2 mindset here. I've got a main swf which loads a bunch of subordinate swfs. I need my loaded swfs to see some variables in the main. For instance (example simplified for conversational purposes), let's say I've got a swf loading (we'll say littleSwf), which needs to set its rotation based on a variable (we'll say swfRotation) in the main. The rotation code is inside of the little swf. How does that little swf get told / find out what its rotation number is?

I use a for loop go to through the array every frame and check if it's hitting an asteroid. Everything there works fine, but in the missile's class I have a destroy function which removes the missile if it goes beyond the stage boundaries. However, I need to splice it from the missileContainer array on the main timeline, too. But I can't seem to access the missileContainer array from the class no matter what I try.

I want to create a new Array on my main timeline with the three movieclips.

I have a main mxml file (flex4) and want to pass a parameter (user_name) to a component in a directory called components. When I run the program, the user_name is NOT being sent from the main to the component file. (Interestingly, if you make the component visible, you can see the parameter has been passed).
