I'm having a problem with a menu that is loaded from a xml file. I want to control the onRelease action for every button in the menu from one XML file, but I can't seem to get it to work... The buttons in the menu each have to call a different function with parameters which are declared in the flash file. The trace output shows the right function call, but it just won't fire the function.
This is an example of one of the nodes from my XML file with the function as node attribute:
I just posted a message asking how to call a method from the constructor which has the parameters e: Event. I mistakenly ticked that post as answered when in reality it isnt. I was told I could add = null in the parameter of the function to make it work, like this:
I have this custom right-click menu. I need to call the reactOnClick() function with a specific parameter when clicking a specific right-menu item. I want to avoid multiplying the function for each right-click item.
Code: Select all//set up the custom right-click menu rcnMenu = new ContextMenu(); //the value below is here just for testing purposes, //the actual value could be anywhere between 3 and 13 var numberOfItemsTakenFromXml:Number = 5;
I have a swf that plays in the browser and I would like to give the user an option to open the swf into a stand alone player. The best way I see to do this is to export the swf as a projector file but I can't figure out how to pass any params (flashvars) to the exe file.
system infoflash player version: 10_1_102_65OS: linux debian, 6.0.2web browser: Mozilla Iceweasel 3.5.16problem descriptionI have a flash file that uses parameters to show output on the screen. unfortunately i don't have sources and can't modify/review it.shows correct flash in the browser.but when i try to load flash from fileflash can't read passed parameter and shows invalid outputit's really strange. because when i downgraded flash plugin (from 10_1_102_65 to 9) both protocols works! That is something occurred in the flash player above 9.unfortunately i can't use Flash Player 9 in my production environment so i should resolve the issue with Flash Player 10.
I've created a Flash Animation (CS5, ActionScript 3) and converted it to SWF. The flash animation needs the values of 3 variables (defined in the swf timeline) BEFORE it starts running in my Flex application. I've embedded the swf file using swfloader in Flex, but I need to pass the parameters from Flex into Flash before the animation starts. How do I do this?
The way I have my flex code setup below, the variables are not being updated. I get an exception every time it gets to the changeParams function because it can't find "Type", "Num1", etc.
Part of My flash code:
//These 3 variables need to be populated via Flex BEFORE the animation starts... var Num2:int; var Num1:int;
I'm building an air app which reads rss feeds from 3 different websites.I have a .fla file with the window controls code and an .as file with the code. In the .fla I have 3 buttons, one for each rss feed, the problem now is where I should put the code to handle with this buttons, in the .fla or in the .as.My idea is to have something like this in the .fla:
ActionScript Code: b_engadget.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, engadget); function engadget(evt:MouseEvent):void{
var fo = new FlashObject( "Movie1_controller.swf", "Movie1_controller.swf", "591", "480", "7", "#FFFFFF", false, "best" ); --------------------------
Is there a way to modify that call (maybe using ASP Javascript) so you can call different movies calling the same page with different parameters?. I haven't been able to get this working. It seems to be that the "FlashObject" call cannot have any variables on it.This is the way I'm trying it:
1. The call to the page would be: http:[url]....
2. Add javascript to get value passed:[code]....
It just doesn't work. The FlashObject.js doesn't seem to like that call.
I have made a flash banner where there are 5 buttons.So I want that whenever I will click those buttons a light box will come out.For that I am using Fancy box.So how to call fancybox in a flash file?
I have a Windows DLL that I want my Flash file to call functions from, I've only seen native extension tutorials with Android and iOS, but not many for Windows. I have a tiny bit of programming experience with C++ and C if that helps (haven't got passed the Pointers yet, but I can read about them).
My client says make this, and use XML so it's dynamic and easy to update:A text box with scroller holding news headlines, and a more link that will open an MC with the entire news article. Like:11/28/05 - X-Raided Celebrates 3 Years in Prison Folsom Correctional facility officers report that imprisoned rap artist X-Raided threw a party in his cell (with his cellmate) to celebrate his third anniversary in prison. Officials state.[code] how to make that "more" link in the XML tell flash to run a specific function.I already have a function that makes whatever mc I want visible and I can write some code to fill in dynamic text boxes with the proper nodeData.But what would that "href=" have to be in the XML in order to call that function inside of flash. Is there a way you can turn XML data into executable commands?
How can I use sendAndLoad to call a php page with flash, and have that page create a user download box, to save a txt file? I have the php code that outputs a text file:
Code: Header('Content-Type: application/octet-stream'); Header('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=test.txt'); // Print the text to be sent echo "hi";
That would force a download box if you ran the php page but the send and load will not get it to work.
I'm trying to post a Quicktime movie into Flash CS3, but my FLV file looks AWFUL when compared to the original Quicktime video. When importing the Quicktime video, I've tried all kinds of settings. (Soreson Sparks was the worst.) I've changed the quality, the data rate, and the frame rate; I've selected "deinterlaced" and deselected "deinterlaced." I've changed the key frame placement and interval and left them alone. I am all out of ideas. I am grinding my teeth.
By creating some kind of var or something, is there any way I can call up a Quicktime video into Flash without actually converting it into an FLV file? It was suggested that I make an SWFObject2, How to make my video look better. I just want my video to look like it does in Quicktime.
How can I consume a webservice that hasn't explicitely created a crossdomain.xml? I understand it's for security and to prevent cross-site scripting, but it does seem like a major limitation to the Flex framework. For example, if I want to consume a webservice, which is suppose to be language agnostic, then I can't with Flex. The webservice/server has to be specifically prepared for Flex/Flash. If it's not, then it cannot be consumed.
Is there an actionscript class that can call an image that has just been uploaded onto the server and place it into a movieclip? Struggling to find a code as each image will have a unique number. Is there a code that can link into a php session that starts as the users uploads the image?
I have found several tutorials for loading data/text into flash using either the 'filereference class' or the 'moviecliploader' but these seem to need a string or a url for the data fro flash to get. Another option is to have the upload script in flash itself but i do not want this either.
above.the .swf is already embedded in html page. and i have couple of buttons from .swf file and how do i call call the html page with the button inside .swf file
i am wondering if there is a way with flash to call the open file dialog box so the user can browse his/her directories to select the file to load. also, if this is possible, is there a way to choose what type of files are allowed?
I've created a very simple video player that I want to use with many different FLV files on my site. Rather than packaging SWF files with each FLV, I'd like to just design one SWF file and have the corresponding HTML file pass the URL of the FLV as a parameter to the SWF. I've read a lot about passing in parameters from HTML to SWF using AS3, and it seems pretty straightforward. Here's an example of the code I created using Flash CS3 and ActionScript 3.0:
this.loaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,loaderComplete); function loaderComplete(evt:Event):void { //traceText.text = "Loaded";
[Code]....
Note that I'm using the variable "userName" to pass the parameter. Eventually I'd use a variable like "movieURL" to convey the actual URL of the FLV file. In any case, when I run the code, I get ... nothing! Nothing but a blank text box. Both the HTML and SWF files are on my local machine.
If I uncomment the "//traceText.text = Loaded" line, the text box says "Loaded", which would indicate that the event listener is functioning properly.
I want to open a .swf file with a parameter for instance test.swf?beer=good and set "good" (the "good" parameter is going to constantly change) as a variable in the script so that I can add it to the stage in the swf file. The problem is I can't seem to figure out how to read the parameter so that it can be placed in the script.
For instance I have it set to:
var beer = ""; on (release) { getURL("http://www.google.com/search?&q="+ beer , "_self"); }
I am trying to create Flash video for usb drives sold to customers with their pictures on it. After the video plays, can I have a link to a local folder, IE: named YOUR_IMAGES on the drive, and have that folder open on their machine when clicked? Or is there to many variables with what what the drive letter name that will be assigned on customers machines? So there will be the same .SWF on every drive sold, then a folder named the same thing with the customer pics on it.
I want to create a basic GUI for a touchscreen panel running linux grml with fluxbox so I'm very restricted. The Gnash player is also available. Is there a way to call shell/bash commands inside a Flash file (swf)?I want to create a GUI to control the mplayer and volume with the touchscreen... If it's not possible with Flash, what do you think is the easiest way?
