ActionScript 3.0 :: Call Image From Server Into Swf Flash File?

Is there an actionscript class that can call an image that has just been uploaded onto the server and place it into a movieclip? Struggling to find a code as each image will have a unique number. Is there a code that can link into a php session that starts as the users uploads the image?
I have found several tutorials for loading data/text into flash using either the 'filereference class' or the 'moviecliploader' but these seem to need a string or a url for the data fro flash to get. Another option is to have the upload script in flash itself but i do not want this either.

I need the exact simple application but the ability to choose a background image from a file on the server as the canvas and I want to save the created image on a server file instead of on the client machine. The ability to change the pencil drawing size would be an additional plus. I work with php and mysql so I would like to use them to store the file parameters, even as a blob in mysql, along with some additional user (server) defined variables (I can do the php/mysql side if I can get the file there, I understand there is an swf to png ByteArray class that might be able to save on server. The project is for an opensource group so the final product would need to remain as such, I would be able to pay for the modifications mentioned above. When I call a .php file from flash and then echo a value back to flash from said .php file flash does not read it. My code is like this:

Note that there is a successful connection to a database using xampp as a server.

Somebody I know can't watch because they have a proxy server.The nc.connect() call to get the live stream fails because it goes direct from AS3 to FMS and doesn't go through the proxy server.

I m working in flex3.0 and i just want to know that how can i call a function from fms server to my AS3.0 (Client Side) code.i tried the syntax client.call(methodname,null,null); but my flex code throw exception unable to call the method.here can i use clientobject.call (methodname,null,null) and is there some special way to declare that method at client side.

I am using the FMS Connector C++ to do some publishing work. And I am required to call a server side method. I have tried to use the INetConnection::call() method, but it don't seems successful.
The FMS server spec told me to do,
1.call server method,
nc.call("FCPublish" null, streamname);
2. implement a callback function onFCPublsih
nc.onFCPublish = function (info ) {...}
How can I implement these with FMS Connector C++?
The FMS Connector document include too few topic on calling server side method.

If you have an .as file in the global include directory do you have to upload it to your server with the flash file or does it compile the flash file with the included info?

We're building a web-based application that requires heavy image processing. We'd like this processing load to be on the client as much as possible and we'd like to support as much platforms (even mobiles) as much as possible. Here's the info: Image processing is rasterization from some data. Think like creating a PNG image from a PDF file. We don't have a lot of server power. So client-side processing is a bit of a must.
So, we're considering: Flash - most widespread, but from what i read has lackluster development tools. (and no iPhone/iPad support for now). Silverlight - allows us to use .NET CLR, so a big ++ (a lot of code is in .NET). But is not supported for most mobiles ( rumored android support in the future) HTML5 + Javascript - probably the most "portable" option. The problem is having to rewrite all that image processing code in Javascript.
Clarification: I don't need further ideas on what libraries are available for Silverlight and Javascript. My dilemma is choosing Silverlight means no support for most mobiles choosing Flash means we have to redevelop most of our code AND no iPhone/iPad support HTML5 + Javascript we have to redevelop most of our code and not fully supported yet in all browsers choosing two (Silverlight + Flash) will be too costly Any out-of-the-box or bright ideas / alternatives

I am building a flash widget for uploading files, but I want to display the thumbnail with html/js, once I have the file loaded via Browse into flash and have access to the raw data, is there a way to convert that to a base64 encoded dataURL so I can send that back out to JS to create a thumbnail like ?

How can I use sendAndLoad to call a php page with flash, and have that page create a user download box, to save a txt file? I have the php code that outputs a text file:

That would force a download box if you ran the php page but the send and load will not get it to work.

I'm trying to post a Quicktime movie into Flash CS3, but my FLV file looks AWFUL when compared to the original Quicktime video. When importing the Quicktime video, I've tried all kinds of settings. (Soreson Sparks was the worst.) I've changed the quality, the data rate, and the frame rate; I've selected "deinterlaced" and deselected "deinterlaced." I've changed the key frame placement and interval and left them alone. I am all out of ideas. I am grinding my teeth.
By creating some kind of var or something, is there any way I can call up a Quicktime video into Flash without actually converting it into an FLV file? It was suggested that I make an SWFObject2, How to make my video look better. I just want my video to look like it does in Quicktime.

How can I consume a webservice that hasn't explicitely created a crossdomain.xml? I understand it's for security and to prevent cross-site scripting, but it does seem like a major limitation to the Flex framework. For example, if I want to consume a webservice, which is suppose to be language agnostic, then I can't with Flex. The webservice/server has to be specifically prepared for Flex/Flash. If it's not, then it cannot be consumed.

I am trying to create Flash video for usb drives sold to customers with their pictures on it. After the video plays, can I have a link to a local folder, IE: named YOUR_IMAGES on the drive, and have that folder open on their machine when clicked? Or is there to many variables with what what the drive letter name that will be assigned on customers machines? So there will be the same .SWF on every drive sold, then a folder named the same thing with the customer pics on it.

I want to create a basic GUI for a touchscreen panel running linux grml with fluxbox so I'm very restricted. The Gnash player is also available. Is there a way to call shell/bash commands inside a Flash file (swf)?I want to create a GUI to control the mplayer and volume with the touchscreen... I have a Flash Application that sends an image (using as3corelib) to a PHP script that previews it in the browser, which works! But, I would actually like it to permanently save it the a server folder (uploads, etc.) instead of temporarily saving it. I can't find the right variable in the PHP that actually sends the image to a server so it could save it.

Below is the code. When the swf is connected to FMS(the connection is successful) I use this application.user_so.send("enterContestGroup"); to call the client side mothed. You can see that in the client side I have defined the "enterContestGroup" mothed. However the fact is it doesn't call that mothed. Can anybody tell me what the error is
