ActionScript 3.0 :: Detect The Pitch On Each 'sample' Of Sound
Jun 20, 2011
I'm working the last two weeks on a module which uses computeSpecturm() to analyze FFT data from a mic. I'm currnetly trying to figure out a way to detect the pitch on each 'sample' of this sound. Does any one know how to find the fundamental frequencty or how to use auto-correclation on the FFT to get the pitch?
I'm working on an Adobe Air application written in Flex 4 that plays .mp3 audio files on the user's computer. Note: these are are not audio files shipped with the application -- they are .mp3's on the user's computer that they select for playback through the application. The application works fine for .mp3s encoded at 44.1 kHz, but can give unpredictable results if other sample rates are used. I've done plenty of research to know the limitations of the Sound class and how .mp3 will basically be my only option in Flex.
My question is: Is there a way to detect the sample rate of the .mp3 audio in Flex 4 ActionScript? Rather than worry about making the application work well with non-standard sample rates, at this point I'd like to just catch those cases and prevent files with non-44.1 kHz sample rates from loading. To be specific: if a user selects an .mp3 for playback that has been encoded at 48 kHz, for example, I'd like to be able to detect that case and take action preventing the file from loading and then announce to the user that this is not a supported audio file.
After browsing the documentation for the sound classes, it seems there is no way to control sound pitch with Actionscript 3.0. there is only the ability to control volume and pan. why is there no pitch property? it's the only sound property missing for the ability to create a full featured sound engine in Actionscript?
i hope i'm misinformed, but in case i'm not are there any alternatives / workarounds to control pitch in AS3?
I'm looking for a way to play a sound with slightly altering pitch to make it more "interesting" (read: tolerable).
I've previously used it with great results in java programming with the Slick library. Simply asked the sound to be played at 0.9 - 1.1 of original pitch (1 = default), gave a subtle but awesome effect.
I have a project where I dynamically generate a single tone and have to alter its frequency as the scene progresses. All the ways I have tried so far result in a clicking or popping noise when the tone's frequency changes. Does anyone have some source code for a way to change the frequency without the irritating click/pop noises?
any thoughts on how to extract the audio from a movie? Pitch shifting is do-able to this article:But the code uses the Sound class.I've NO idea how to go about extracting the audio from a movie/FLVPlayback
Can some only indicate a small piece of FLEX/AS code which plays mp3 and with play button only, the objective is to play a sample sound for around 5 to 10 seconds. And the compiled swf should have the mp3 embeded in it
I need to trigger an event when the sound level of an flv's right audio goes above a cetain volume level and then trigger another event when it drops below that point. This is easy to do with a simple using "rightPeak" but I need it to work with a video.
I need to check that the user has not muted the system before running my main movie (as indicated by the red bar over the speaker icon on the lower rgiht) and if so prompt to unmute with pop up. Is that something I can do with Actionscript 3 or is it sometihing that needs to be addressed with JavascriptWSH?
Is there any way to detect whether sound card is installed on a machine using AS 2.0? I am embedding my swf in an html (javascipt)file. If this is possible in javascript, even then it will solve my purpose.
I am trying to figure out how to change the pitch of a sound in Standing Wave 3 actionscript library. I have imported a sound at 440hz(A) and am trying to change it's pitch to say a (C) note.
I'm developing using Actionscript 3.0 for Flash Player 10.3.I'm using computeSpectrum() on a loaded .mp3. Running *Event.ENTER_FRAME* to get snapshots of each sample in an byteArray. The ByteArray contains 512 values (256 for each channel). These values are FFT Spectrum, ranging from 0 to 1.I can't use the peak frequency for each of the samples (as I found found out!) because the highest value is not necessarily the fundamental frequency. As a result I'm getting lots of random values all over the place.Of course I'm getting some correct too, but that's not enough.
i am having this very big problem(for my particular application). i am writing this music application in flash and i use as2 to load randomly specific sounds which are in the same folder as the movie. the problem is that i need the sound to be replayed with fidelity and it seems flash is lowering the pitch of the "music" by a halfstep(it does the same when "previewing" it from the library). musically speaking, if i have an mp3 containing A at 440 hz played with piano timbre, Flash will lower it and when it is played through the flash player is its played as a G sharp(35 hz lower). I thought that if i will replace the attachSound with loadSound and the sound will be loaded externally and not from the library the problem will be solved. it seems that this won't solve the probem. the sound just doesn't want to be played at the frequency it has in the file from which is loaded. i had read somewhere that this is a flash player's bug.
I'm finding lots of ways to change the "speed" of a loaded mp3 file. However, is it possible to only change the pitch or tempo (and not both at the same time)?
AS3 or Flex : How to create a voice pitch meter/analyzer? Is it possible? How to create voice pitch analyzer on flex or AS3? do you have any idea? or is there any software like this that can be used on a web site?
My sample templates are missing, all that shows now are Cateregory: Advertising and different size banners. I searched my harddrive and found the rood folder where they are stored but only the folder for Advertising exist. I haven't deleted anything, so could it have been a glitch at installation, I had startup problems with Flash constantly crashing at the splash screen and finally had to uninstall and reinstall. Running WinXP SP3.
I am new to flash and was working with the Kirupa tutorial that showed the letters of Kirupa being moved and fading, all done within 30 frames. The example that was posted is so smooth and slow in its transition. I followed the directions but mine is quick and jerky.
i was playing with the fscommand for a few times now but i havent made the exec command execute a file(in a subfolder)... a directory with a movie and a folder with sample exec file
I have movieclip in my php page. I have button in that clip. What code should I use for change all page to an other one because when I use on (release){getURL("[URL]");} It opens that page at swf file's spot but I don't want it. I tried on (release){ getURL("[URL]", "_blank");} But it opens in new tab. I want to open new page in same tab. Is there any way to do that?
where is the source code for the multicastplayer sample that is located in <installed directory>AdobeFlash Media Server 4 oolsmulticastmulticastplayer directory? The StrobeMediaPlayer does not use the same html code and does not playback a rtmfp multicast stream. This is the code used in the multicast sample player to pass the manifest.f4m file into the player to playback a Multicast Stream which is not used in the StrobeMedia player sample.
I am trying to download some graphics swf file for applying skinning to my FLex components .But i cant find any free graphics swf files .Could anyboody please tell me where could i find sample graphics swf files ??
The reference doc ( here ) tells us to download the sample application: Included in the project distribution is a collection of samples called the Spring BlazeDS Integration Test Drive. This samples project is set up to be built with Maven and then imported into Eclipse for running the application via WTP.
The samples in question, must either be spring-flex-testdrive-spring3.zip which is linked to in the document or spring-flex-testdrive-spring3.zip based on the notion that this is release 1.5.0.M1 (docs and samples). After I configure maven as described with the proper environment variable:
I then execute (per instruction) the command to install: mvn clean install from the extracted samples directory (in my case C:spring-flex-testdrive ), I receive the following error:
C:spring-flex-testdrive>mvn clean install [INFO] Scanning for projects... [ERROR] The build could not read 1 project -> [Help 1] [ERROR]
[code]....
I have managed to get a "Spring BlazeDS" application working (with Flex), but now I'm at the point where I need to implement security, and if the samples would compile and run correctly.
I have a swf file (little animation) created in swish and I want to put it in my windows form app like a header, I was reviewing the below link but it doesn't say too much, could someone give an example of how to do this?
