Feb 8, 2010I am trying to simulate adjusting an LCD screen's contrast using two buttons.
The LCD is one graphic on ONE key frame that runs the entire length of the timeline.
Not sure how to start with the action scripting for this... i would like to use hex values if possible, but had no luck so far with my AS2.
The hard part is that i have a text box on top of the LCD on many different keyframes and the color / brightness of the this will have to change accordingly with the LCD screen.
Flash :: CS4 Sample Templates Are Missing
Dec 26, 2009My sample templates are missing, all that shows now are Cateregory: Advertising and different size banners. I searched my harddrive and found the rood folder where they are stored but only the folder for Advertising exist. I haven't deleted anything, so could it have been a glitch at installation, I had startup problems with Flash constantly crashing at the splash screen and finally had to uninstall and reinstall.
Running WinXP SP3.

I am assigning a color to its color field like this: lightblue_color.transform.colorTransform.color = 0x65ffff; then i am adding an eventlistener to the button like this: lightblue_color.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, ChangeColor); Then, in the function: public function ChangeColor(evnt:MouseEvent):void {trace(evnt.target.transform.colorTransform.color);} It prints 0. Why is that? Shouldn't it print 0x65ffff or do i need to do some type conversions?

I'm currnetly trying to figure out a way to detect the pitch on each 'sample' of this sound. Feb 8, 2011The reference doc ( here ) tells us to download the sample application: Included in the project distribution is a collection of samples called the Spring BlazeDS Integration Test Drive. This samples project is set up to be built with Maven and then imported into Eclipse for running the application via WTP.
The samples in question, must either be spring-flex-testdrive-spring3.zip which is linked to in the document or spring-flex-testdrive-spring3.zip based on the notion that this is release 1.5.0.M1 (docs and samples).After I configure maven as described with the proper environment variable:
MAVEN_OPTS="-Xms256m -Xmx512m -XX:PermSize=128m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m"
I then execute (per instruction) the command to install: mvn clean install from the extracted samples directory (in my case C:spring-flex-testdrive ), I receive the following error:

Jul 5, 2011I've placed some of my videos flv and f4v in the vod/media and webroot/vod folders with sample files provided. My files were checked with flvcheck and passed. When I load the embed code into a Dreamweaver HTML file and save the page to the webroot folder as instructed, the provided sample files play in my Firefox browser. However, when I edit the code to insert my files in strict accordance with the instructions concerning codecID and extension, I get the following message on the Browser "We are unable to connect to the content you've requested." My videos are less than 30 minutes in length and were encoded H.264 using Adobe Media Encoder and as I said passed the flvcheck.

Nov 22, 2010I am developing an application in Flash that runs locally and it uses FMS 4.01, locally. I have been using adobe FMS 4.01 for months with no problem. Today I cannot connect to my server and I cannot even play the sample video on the Flash Media Server Start Screen. The sample video for the http plays after I changed the permissions for flash, but rtmp does not play. I have reinstalled the server; 3.5, 4.0 and 4.01, none of them will connect to rtmp. I receive this error on the flash media server start screen that says "the connection timed out".

Mar 12, 2011I'm working on an Adobe Air application written in Flex 4 that plays .mp3 audio files on the user's computer. Note: these are are not audio files shipped with the application -- they are .mp3's on the user's computer that they select for playback through the application. The application works fine for .mp3s encoded at 44.1 kHz, but can give unpredictable results if other sample rates are used. I've done plenty of research to know the limitations of the Sound class and how .mp3 will basically be my only option in Flex.
My question is: Is there a way to detect the sample rate of the .mp3 audio in Flex 4 ActionScript? Rather than worry about making the application work well with non-standard sample rates, at this point I'd like to just catch those cases and prevent files with non-44.1 kHz sample rates from loading. To be specific: if a user selects an .mp3 for playback that has been encoded at 48 kHz, for example, I'd like to be able to detect that case and take action preventing the file from loading and then announce to the user that this is not a supported audio file.
