ActionScript 3.0 :: Generate A Report On What Classes Are Being Used In Application?
Dec 19, 2011
I'm trying to generate a report on what classes are being used in our application... bonus points if i can tell which methods and properties are actually being used as well.
I know I can read the catalog.xml for RSL Libraries which is a great start, but I'm not sure if such a thing exists for applications and modules(compiled or uncompiled).
I think I'm looking for some kind of recursive describeType() method, or (gag) maybe I just need to write my own? I don't care how it works, my app dioesnt even tneed to be running... we just need an inventory of what's really being used and what might be garbage, essentialy.
I'm using Amazon EC2 and AFMLE 3.2. How do I generate a report that will tell me how many viewers I have watching?I figured out how to report on the Kb out in an hour but that only tells me average viewers, asuming they all watched an entire hour I need unique viewers and average viewers at different points in the webcast.
I can't seem to generate any output when including the "link-report" compiler commands in Flash Builder 4.5. I've tried several different syntaxes that I've seen online:
But absolutely nothing gets created when I run, build, or debug the project. Other application settings perhaps? The project is relatively young and doesn't have many custom settings so I'm thinking it is maybe application or config related?
After dragging many MovieClips/Components onto the stage, how can I generate a report (or display on screen)by listing the names, parameters, values of all the movie clips/ components dragged on the stages?
Whenever I start a new game, I make a whole bunch of classes that extend my base classes, so: URL...and has some setup code. Now all I need is a way to generate these classes at the start of the project so I don't have to create each one manually. It will save me at least an hour of faffing around per game. So how do I do it? I normally use FlashDevelop but I also have FlexBuilder 3, or I'm happy to download whatever other software I need (PC).
I've been looking at various questions in StackOverflow and in other sites, but I have not seen a library that a) generates actionscript code given XSDb) serializes to and deserializes from XML using the generated classes. In Java world this is JAXB. I have a set of large XSDs, based on which a web service is producing XML output. I don't want to write actionscriptclasses by hand, that'd be huge piece of work. Having source code in actionscript since writing code based on runtime binding of xml/json to objects is much more error prone compared to having proxy like classes.
My workflow usually goes like this: i create a symbol in Flash IDE with textfields, containers, etc. Then I select "export for actionscript" and type in the classname (automatic declaration of stage instances, of course, is off). Then i create a corresponding classfile in FDT and declare all this textfields and other objects that are in my symbol. This is pretty routine and boring process that takes a lot of time.
Is there a way to automate it? Maybe some plugin for flash IDE that will automatically create a class file based on symbol exported for AS?
Update: So, following the answer Pavel fljōt provided, i wrote my own command to accomplish this task.[URL]..
Is it possible to generate an executable file from a flash executable file? A client has requested a quote from that will allow them to do the following: This whole thing needs to reside on a CD/DVD.
There is a bank of 10 images. The user selects any 5 images they want. The user saves those 5 images as a slideshow / powerpoint / executable file?
Are there other utilities that can do this kind of thing? Is flash the wrong development tool? Are there other tools out there that perform this type of function?
Google has provided no results for me. I've often lurked through the forums here and I thought that maybe the community here may have some answers as I can't seem to find them anywhere.
I'm looking for a way to generate license keys by a PHP script and then transfer its to my application (Air, AS3), and in this application to read the data correctly. For example, here is the code:
[Code]...
The generates key about like this: 1AS7-09BD-96A1-CC8D-F106. I want to add some information into key - e-mail user, then pass it to the client (Air app), decrypt the data and dysplay in app.
I want to share an Array which all classes can "get" and "change" data inside that array. Something like a Global array or Multi Access array. How this is possible with ActionScript 3.0 ?
Is there a way to get a list of all the skin classes that are in the current application? I'm using Flex 4.5.1.
Here is the loop that I'm using now to get all the skins,
for each (var item:Object in styleManager.typeHierarchyCache) { for (label in item) { if (label=="spark.components.supportClasses.Skin" ||
[Code]....
The reason why is because I want to list all the skins in the application and then be able to apply them in real time so I can see what they look like.
is there a way to follow-up on a bug report that i submitted i have the bug number, but would like to see if the report was understood, filled out properly and determine the status of the bug report.
Why am I kept getting the Incompatibility report saying something about the Blend: Color Burn? It turns most my vector grahpics to bitmaps. How do I avoid this?
I have an FLV player on the stage.I'm setting the source (flvplayer.source) as a variable. When the proper file is in the right location it plays perfectly. I'm trying to set up an error report that is generated when the source FLV isn't there. So far I have:
ok, so a couple of months ago, while using Flash CS4, I started getting this unusual bug where the application would terminate, no error report dialog, no system reports, I didn't even get the satisfying *doonk* sound that Windows likes to make every time you try something Microsoft haven't thought of yet.
I have a component based on canvas, and within that component I have two images. I have the component listen for a click and when that event occurs one image goes transparent and the other becomes visible. This part works perfect. Now, on clicking that component, I also want to do something to the parent canvas, I already have this working for more basic types (image, canvas, text, etc) but the problem with my component is that the click event has the internal image as the target, so what I want to happen to the outside canvas is happening to the canvas of the component. How do I make my component as a whole the target of any clicks on it? 3.5 SDK
I have this form in my flash file and I can't quite make it do what I want. I get the form to send, but I don't get a confirmation if it sent out OK, and I also can't make the auto response work in the php file. My Flash file has the following AS in it.
[Code]...
How can I get the php to report back to the result_lv and get the confirmation email from the form.
I have a Flex 3 app which I want to instrument to report errors generated by the app to a server via simple HTTPService call. My idea is to wrap all the methods in try. catch blocks which then pass the Error object to the reportError() function (which then fires off the HTTP request and pops up a dialog) but is there a better way?
The examples I'll use don't do anything - they're classes without ANY members - no variables, methods, anything.
Let's say I extends Sprite and call it MySprite.
I save it in test.core
[code]...
Now I create another custom class called MyWindow that extends MySprite.
I save it in test.windows
[code]...
Then I create another class that extends MyWindows (the example I'll use is a document class - but that doesn't matter - I've tested using an instance too).
[code]...
Notice that I'm not even trying to instantiate the helper classes - just having them there throws the error.
If there is only a single helper class, everything runs fine.
Also note that - as far as I can tell - this only happens when extending one class from another package, then extending that class with more than one helper object.I'm pretty sure there's no namespace bumps or typographical errors, as this is a very pared-down version of the original application.
EDIT: seems the problem exists even without the crossing packages - even extending MySprite in the document class with multiple internal classes generates this error.
I am creating a library in AS3. Inside the library I make use of a bunch of classes/packages that need not be exposed to the end user of my lib. I want to only expose one of these classes.
I guess my questions are:
1) How are libraries commonly distributed in AS3?
2) Is there a .jar equivalent in AS3 that developers can include, but will only have access/knowledge of the classes I've declared as public?
I have an actionscript project which uses visual symbols from an SWC. I have a CheckoutButton which has the following class associated with it (compiled into the SWC in Flash CS3).
I'm trying to import a class from a class that is located in another folder. How do you move up a directory? Using./ or ../ doesn't seem to work. Essentially I want to access a TweenLite Class but not from the document class. My class is at com/myName and the class I want to access is at com/TweenLite. import ../TweenLite doesn't work... I realize I could just copy and paste the entire Tweenlite folder again, but there's got to be a less duplicative way of doing this..
inheritance and building classes from other classes.
I have 3 classes: gfxRoomText - changeable colour gfxRomInter - changeable colour - interactive gfxRoomImg - interactive - only image / no colour
The first two incorporate the same text field and functions to change colour. The second and third incorporate another class to interactive with. What is the best way of creating these classes using inheritance and how?
I have to use many custom classes for a project, each class includes lots of elements(methods, properties) and I generally forget their names when coding. Is there any editor which I can enumarate the elements of my classes after pressing "." like Flash's built in classes?
