Jul 29, 2010Within my flash file, some of the layers/objects go off of the sides of the document as I want them to. When I play the file within the test movie function within flash, the file plays fine and none of the layers that extend of the document cause problems(the samething happens when I play it in flash player). But when I open the file in a web broswer the layers that extended off the edges of the document show up. Is there anyway to get rid of this without having to redo the whole file? (ie, crop around the main document size, or set it to export only everything within the document and nothing that extends off of it?)

Jul 20, 2011I am using Flash Builder 4.5 to build an iPhone app.In order to display ads I plan to use StageWebView and load a webpage containing the ad code.Lets say the ad will be 320x50 pixels.So the Actionscript code would look similar to this:

In the application I have set the applicationDPI="160" so the application is displayed properly when run on iPhone3 and iPhone4.However the content of the StageWebView looks tiny on iPhone4.If I do adView.drawViewPortToBitmapData() the bitmap's size is OK.how to make the StageWebView content to scale accordingly, so it looks OK regardless of the screen DPI?

Aug 31, 2009I am making a website in flash for my business that consists of several elements. For example I have one menu on top with the usual "contact", "resume", "about" and so on, and so far this is not the problem as I only need some text to show up when the button is clicked. But on the left i have another menu with different sections called "animations", "layouts", "illustrations" and so on, and the point is that each link is supposed to start a slideshow with my artwork depending on the category. How to make the buttons show content, and I even created a simple slideshow (with prev and next buttons).
I used the following code for the slideshow:

Now the only thing left to do is to actually make the different buttons show the slideshows. I have tried to embed the swf of the slideshow in the frame of my content layer that is dedicated to the layout button. I've had to try a few things. at first the slideshow didn't do what I previously programmed it to: instead of me having to click next or prev, it just flipped through all the images continuously. That I fixed, but now the only thing that still doesn't work are the buttons. they seem active when I test the movie, but they don't take me anywhere- they're just stuck on the first image.

Aug 27, 2009So as to make things less confusing (I had a lot of different layers), I made each scene in my animation in its own file. Now I want to put them in the same file, so I thought I could make everything in one file into a movie clip and put it into another file that way.
However, it doesn't seem to work! I can highlight everything, convert it, and paste it into the other file... but when I paste it, it only pastes the first frame of my highlighted selection! How can I convert the whole thing into a movie clip instead of just one frame?

Nov 16, 2009On my Flash site, I'm trying to make my my navagation bar run on a independent timeline from the rest of the content on my site. I built my navagation bar in a movie clip, because they use independent timelines. However I can't seem to figgure out how to make the buttons in the movie clip effect the timeline of the main file. Is there something I'm missing? Or am I just going about this the wrong way?

My issue is it does not seem to track the progress. The trace statement in the onProgress function only displays after it is fully loaded. I thought this was suppose to loop.

Nov 21, 2004i need to make a sort of template for a group of files. it must contain both text and images (sort of help files where there is text and explanatory figures). i have to make this template 100% dynamic, meaning that i don't know the amount of text or number of images or where those images will be within the text. my client should be able to add text and images without having to edit the swf.
i know how to make textfields and movieclips during runtime, and how to load dynamic text and images, but the main problem is that the client wants the images inbetween paragraphs - not in a seperate place. -how do i set breakpoints in a dynamically loaded text -how do i position the images? -how do i position the rest of the text?

But because of vector>bitmap conversion when 3d roationing, the scroller fails to works. Nov 9, 2011I was wondering if there is a way to make the actual stage dynamic to the content loaded in the flash file.
Firstly the method I am using is importing a external swf to the stage into a container called container. The main stage, lets call it index, is still on default size, and I want this to expand dynamically as content is loaded in. page1 may be 900px width, page2 may be 500px width, and as I load the content the index stage should expand the width to that of the page loaded. Some steps I have tried but did not work.

Aug 15, 2009I'm have made some buttons (movie clip) and when I click on it, I want a file (home.swf) to load in a loader (mx.contents.loader) and I want the other buttons to do the same, all load into the same loader. I have no Idea how to do that. The way I have it set up now, the home.swf will load over the entire screen and that is not what I want. I just want the content to load into the loader and have its content change once I click on the other buttons. Here is a copy and past of that I have at the moment, I'm using Flash 8 to do it all.
