View 1 RepliesIs it possible to make a LinkButton selectable? That is, the text from the LinkButton can be selected and then copied. LinkButton does not have the selectable property.
View 1 RepliesAs part of requirements for a new feature of "locking" a page, it is desired to have all elements on a locked page be non-selectable. This is not to be confused with disabled. All elements should appear as if the page were active, but not be selectable.The current thought is to create a clear canvas and place it over the existing elements. With this thought, I have two questions:if you can think of a better way to make all items non-selectable than applying a clear canvas element over the existing elements could you describe it?if not, what is the best way to retrofit existing implementations to accept the overlayed canvas item? BTW, all .mxml pages inherit from a custom .as file.

I have applied thumbUpSkin, thumbDownSkin, thumbOverSkin, thumbDisabledSkin to my custom Draggable Slider Component still i can't get the slider what i want because this component is working for FLEX 2.0 I want the perfect one that is look on the link given above.

I've tried one thing so far. What I did was use a custom item renderer that checks for a value in the data property upon a FlexEvent.DATA_CHANGE event. If that value is not set, I tried setting the item renderer's selectable property to false. This, unfortunately, does not seem to work.
If I have a menubar that has an XML datasource like:

I would like to have in my Flex application the ability to post objects (for instance images or text items) where user can drag/drop for absolute positioning on the screen, resize it and rotate it (although not high priority). I'm wondering if there is a library that would do so out of the box or do you recommend implementing my own?
View 3 RepliesI'm building a top view 2D map, that it's objects are stored on the server.The kind of objects are 10 and might be a photo, label, button, lists, mix of them or labels with tooltips.The component must request the "areas" that are missing on screen.An area is 1000x1000 px and is cached in flex.To move in the map, will be like in google maps (drag-and-drop).I should be able to have another list and move objects from one to another using drag-an-drop on objects. Ex.: I grab an objects from a list and I move it on this map, I release the mouse button and the item is placed there.Now the problem is: I build a custom component for this trying to emulate the item renderer for performance and recyclage, implement drag-and-drop on objects and request the areas that are missing?

I extend the List component from spark and I add some features as multiple kind of itemrenderers and use recycle on them. Of course it must be able to request the missing areas on the screen and cache it's data.Maybe create a custom layout is needed too.What I need is something that must be really fluid, so the lighter this component is, the better.
UPDATE: *There will be not any object over another.
*I will not use hitTest on bitmaps because all bitmaps are wrapped in another component,as they,for now are itemrenderers.
Anyway I already begin to do this using a class that extends the SkinnableDataContainer and a custom layout. As the layout is not like a grid, is sparse, random items at diferent points(x, y).How to get the localX and localY, relative to item renderer and not to the Spark List, from a DragEvent in Flex 4?

condition #1. Only 1 button/mclip is draggable in its axis [done].
condition #2 .The 4 button/mclip must be dragabble at the same time, that is, when i drag one, the others should drag at the same time in their own axis.

I got a new one to do this morning, and I was asked to make a button that says drag/pull here. as you drag/pull down, it reveals the layer below it. I have a canvas with a scrollbar and I would like to disable the scrollbar in some way that keeps the thumb visible, but not selectable. I just want to let the user know that there is more information below, but I do not want to let him use the scroll to move down(this will be done with the movement of the arrows). I tried using the properties enabled but it does not work.

In each row I have 3 buttons. When I click a button, I need to extract data corresponding to clicked row.
I have a Label in AS3 that I want to be selectable (.selectable = true) AND I want the clipboardMenu to show up on right-click ALONG with custom menu items.
If I do THIS:

The label IS selectable - however ONLY the clipboard menu items are present.
How can I both make the label selectable AND have a menu with my custom items + standard clipboard items?
BTW - this is with an AIR application using the 3.2 SDK.
Is this possible at all? I have tried to use the startDrag method for dynamic text field but I still can not drag it. If I converted the dynamic textField into MovieClip symbol then it becomes draggable. But I had to keep it as dynamic textField object because I am also applying formats defined in textFormat object to that textField. If it is converted to MC symbol, then I can no longer apply textFormat. Is there any solution. Basically I want to be able to drag and change its text format for given textField.

In Flex, how to put some component ( like canvas ) appear at the center of the screen. ( even if there is scroll, it should be displayed at the center of the current view).

I'm making an educational game for my company that involves dragging labels from a word-bank to their correct position on a diagram. I want the kids to be able to drag any one of the five labels and move them to any one of five marked positions on the diagram. I'm using Flash CS5 with Actionscript 3. Now I wonder if it is possible that when you are ready dragging the points and you have the rectangle you want, to stop dragging and move the whole rectangle. In some way make the drawen rectangle an object where you can get the height and width and coordinates. And move it. Can this be done?
