This is the code I'm using to move a knob the challenge is when i click on the knob it turns 90 either left or right depending where i click, I'd like it to stay still until I turn the knob, and second how do I get the angle in whole numbers??
i want to create an mp3 player with volume ,frequency, bass, treble and speed knobs any pointers to any scripts that might help me would be great, but at the moment i am just trying to work out how to make a knob that turns.I assume i would use drag over and some kind of rotation function.
im working on a maths style jigsaw, and ive come across a problem of sorts, ive set random1_txt.text to 1 and random1_txt.text to 2 for testing, basically i want to randomise two textfields between 1 and 10, and also randomise the sign between either a - or a +
the answer can be computed by flash, now what i need it to do is stop on the frame number of the answer in answer_mc, these frames contain graphics of all numbers 1-20 in alpha format, this is so that the answer is in place, now the user can drag and drop movieclips into the answer box, and receive a correct or incorrect response
im at a loss on how to do this, i havent gotten around to randomising the sign as of yet i need to do more research but the general idea is as above

How to accomplish making the knob pan center at 60 for 60 Hz and only go left and right between the ranges of 59.95 to 60.05 in increments of 0.05? I am illustrating synchronizing between two power systems. I got the scope and and voltage wave forms down but making the knobs work the way we need is driving me nuts.
I am trying to create an animation that will show the basics of steering a sailboat. The idea is that there will be a top view of the boat with the tiller and rudder very pronounced. I want the learner to be able to click and drag the tiller one direction or the other, while the tiller is dragging I want the rudder and the boat to rotate the proper direction. Example, I want the boat to go left I will push the tiller to starboard and the rudder will rotate clockwise and the boat will turn left. There doesn't need to be forward motion by the boat in my head, I think that as long as the boat rotates it would be fine.
Now, i have (let's say) 30 frames inside this movieclip, and i wan't it to change is current frame depending on the angle of the mouse (example, if i point my mouse to the right, the mc goes to frame 30, if i point my mouse a little up, the mc goes to to frame 27, if i point my mouse all to the left the mc goes to frame 15... etc...)
Basically the movieclip should change it's frame depending on the mouse angle,
By the way, i don't really wan't the moviecliip to rotate (like it's doing now) i want it to change it's frame only...)
Essentially I'm just trying to rotate an object (mc) clockwise or anticlockwise depending on the value of a variable called 'angle'.If 'angle' is positive it should go anticlockwise.If 'angle' is negative it should go clockwise.

I have a song that plays on my site, with an on/off button. And the way the code is set up now is when you click "off" it turns off all sounds. I just put a video on my site, and now the song interferes with the video, so when you click 'off' on the song, it turns off all sounds, including the video. Of course all you have to do is re-start the video, but I'd rather have it set up so the code for the musicbox just turns off only the music.Here's the way it is now, on the off button:

I have a game: The object circled is the amount of shots you have left. But it removes the last object in the array, so the last bullet, its hard to explain, I have 20 bullets, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20. The array is removing the 1 first. Well what I am saying is number 1 is actually number 20, so the array is doing nothing wrong, I did. But I am not sure how to reverse the order.

The reason being is because the user cannot see how many they have left, so think angry birds, the amount of birds is displayed according to the amount there allowed, its to the left of the slingshot, like mine, every time the bird is shot, the rest of the birds shimmey towards the slingshot untill there is none left --- This is what I want, but have managed to confuse myself aswell as you most likely.

I am having problems with this if else statement. I have a variable (frame number 30) passing into my swf from another swf. This I know is working correctly.
But - I need to be able to direct to different frame numbers depending on the variable, this is working.
I'm working on an online portfolio of design work. I've set the jpegs up to load dynamically into movie clips so I don't have to keep them in my .fla file. To see the issue: please open "help_.fla" and 3 jpegs (same folder as the .fla file). Run the flash movie. Click on the "NVIDIA" in the top navigation, then on CBS Cable. When the first page of CBS Cable appears, click on the right arrow to see the next CBS page. Then, click again on "NVIDIA" in the top navigation bar.
1. How can I hide the left or right arrows depending on which CBS page I'm on? When I'm on the first page, for example, the back arrows should be hidden. 2. When I'm back in the NVIDIA page again, how can I hide the arrows still showing from the CBS Cable pages? Finally, what's up with the brief flashing of the NVIDIA screen when I click on the right or left arrows of the CBS pages? (in case it was a string vs number issue.) it just stops - it does not go to frame 30. I need this because I need the file to stay on frame 1 if no variable is passed in. Am I doing something obvious wrong? Is there a better way to do this?

I would like to disable left clicks certain keyframes, i have a movieclip that the user is dragging and when a click is made it has a short animation, but i dont want users to be able to click other things while this animation is running. so i need to disable the left click. the animation is on inside the movie clip.
i have made a sniper style game an hav programme a moment where there is pause between each click (reload time) but how do i make it so that when the gun is reloading the left click is disabled, as it stands now while the gun is reloading the aim doesnt move but if u click on an enemy they still die as it stil sees it as clicking on it, how do i disable it for these 2 seconds while my gun reloads

I have 3 buttons. When i click on the button1 i wish to increase the number to 1, when i click button 2 i wish to increase number to 2 and when i click on button 3 i wish to increase to 3....so it must increasing 1,2,3... But the problem is, when i click on the first button back twice i wish not to show me the number 1, but i wish to disable the counting because we have already click on this button. I dont need the this.enabled = false; code but something count == 0, but is not working.
Is there a code in actionscript 2.0 for flash cs4 to disable left-clicking in IE on a flash swf embedded in an html page...the movie does not contain any buttons, but calls an xml file which contains path to images to be displayed. I tried using another swf file to call the original one (since original one I have only the swf available to use, no fla) but although it works fine in firefox, in IE it still allows users to click on the flash, and also changes to hand-cursor, while should have been the default cursor in use by windows, and no clicking (except right-click)... code is as follows:
I'm making a chatroom in actionscript, and I want to create a left click menu that pulls up some functions like (Ban, Hide, View users profile, etc..) I'd rather not do it through the right click menu.
I have an input textfield, and when I click in it, all the text in the textfield moves to the left so you can't see it anymore. (Here is a screen shot of it with both textfields having "100" in them after clicking in the top one:'ve tried playing around with the different textfield properties (autoSize, condenseWhite..) and can't find one that fixes this.
