ActionScript 3.0 :: Preloading External Data In Gallery Movie Clip?
Mar 31, 2009
I'd like to take a gallery of images I'm bringing via amfphp and have one big preloader for all of them. So, once all the images are downloaded the loader bar is at 100%..Can I do this from an external swf loading in the gallery movie clip?
In what combination of as2 code would instruct a preloader to recieve bytes loaded and bytes total in addition to loading a external swf file into a blank movie clip? I've seen countless issues regarding the same problem but still haven't goten a clear answer. I dont want to use the video player component standard on Flash. I want a preloader to preload a external swf file and play it inside a movieclip.
I am buidling a website in which i am importing external movie clips (swfs) using actions script 2.0 all of my imported movie clips so far work fine, but when it comes to import the xml gallery the who website goes in a loop. here is the script i am using to load the external movie clips.
is very basic but it works for what i am doing. the question is HOW DO I LOAD THE XML GALLERY if this basic script doesn't work for it is there another way to do it?
I am loading an external swf photo gallery.Right now I am using a preloader to show up before the external swf is loaded. The preloader is in my main file.My problem is this - once the external swf is loaded, it still takes a couple of seconds before my photo gallery shows up.How can I avoid using 2 preloaders (one in my main file and one in the external swf)
I have a movie clip which is having dynamically loaded image. I want to preload it. how do i make a preloader for a movie clip.I used loader component for preloading images. And its work fine. But I have various images which are loading in a single movie clip when user clicks on a particular button.so i want to develop a preloader for a movie clip. And my client also doesn't want that simple look of a loader component. That's why i will can use any free preloader. But how to assign it to a movie clip which is having dynamically loaded images.
I have a problem with preloading external swf's into my main movie actually I have a a seperate preloader setup for each external SWF and when i click a button to load an external movie its not showing a preloader it anoying to wait while movie loading without seeing a prelaoder.
I am currently building an mp3 player with a little screen which displays some images in a certain order. Everything is loaded in through XML. I would like to preload those images together with my main movie (using the same preloader bar), so the images can be used later. How would I accomplish this?
So I have this gallery which I downloaded, it is AS 2.0.
It works well as is on the main(Scene 1) page, except that when I create a new MovieClip, and paste all the original frames w/actions into it, it begins to flicker and none function.
Here are the codes:
Perhaps there is something that I need to change?
Here is the actual gallery with my problem in it:
[URL]
First Frame: ------------------------------------------ stop(); Stage.scaleMode = "noScale"; Stage.align = "TL";
Does any of the code need to be changed in the photo gallery tutorial to make it function inside of a movie clip? I'm specifically wondering in regards to the "_root" My gallery is in a movie clip which I can't seem to get working w/attatchMovie though all my others work fine.
I've made a photo gallery that scales from the center with the browser window size. Now I'm trying to make it so when window scales the gallery tweens to fit the new size, but I can't seem to figure out how to implement it into my previously written code. Here is all the code, sorry its a lot to sift through. I've put some notes in the important sections.
I am trying to make a flash app where you click a movie clip (a picture frame) and a picture gallery pops up.Here is what I have so far. Click the Picture Frame movie clip and a shape tweens (for 24 frames) out to make the background for the gallery and I have a new key frame with a picture on it and left and right buttons. Then I have key frames following the first picture that just have images in them.At this point I use stop(); on that frame and stop the movieclip on the first picture. Now I'm trying to get the buttons to go forwards and backwards. It seems an easy enough task, I just can't figure out how to get the currentFrame and the totalFrames for my movie clip symbol.[code]I have also noticed that even when I replace the entire function with nextFrame (); it only restarts the movie clip symbol from the shape tween up to the first keyframe with a picture.
i have one example flash stack galery fla file. i modified it as i need. But i have some problems with preloading, and getting the title of the files from XML. i tried too many things to make it works and failed. First problem is getting the title of the file from XML and printing it at dynamic text area. And the other problem is the bigger one at preloading. i tried to get the file size when all the images loaded and i think i cant, and while trying to show a preloading movie clip i cant add it to the stage and cant control its frames. i will attach all the files, you can extract all files in same folder.URL...
I am trying to build a gallery where the thumbnail loads and then you hit the thumbnail and it opens the image full size. I don't want to have it resize.
I have a xml photogallery that I'm loading into an empty movie clip in my main movie. I can preload each image seperatly but would like to have a preloader that preloads either all or a certain percentage of the images and then starts the gallery. I've provided the code below. I'm using mx 2004. Here's a link
Code: function loadXML(loaded) { if (loaded) { xmlNode = this.firstChild;
I'm still a rookie in flash and I'm having a little bit of trouble with some actionscript. I've gotten as far as placing the buttons and assign the correct actionscript for them to work. Everything is working fine with the buttons activating the external .swf into a blank movie clip in the main movie. Ony thing is, I would like the external movie assigned to the first button to open once the movie is loaded.
I thought by using the same actionscript i used on the button {and removing the on(release) tag} and placing on the first frame of the main movie would help, but it doesn't.
I have a menu bar that has 2 Drop down menus. Each drop down is a separate movie clip, with 3 buttons inside that are separate movie clips. I have a class set to the buttons that are movie clips for a roll over effect. But when I mouse over it does not work. Also on the main time line I tried to add a like to a web page but it did not work. But I only have this problem with the movie clips that are inside the drop down movie clips.
Why is this? How do I add roll over actions and external links to movie clips that are inside of another movie clip? I really need some help this is a problem I have been having for about a month or more. I am still a AS3 newb and this is my first time using classes. The other classes I have work with everything else, Im just having trouble with the movie clips that are inside movie clips.
how would I go about preloading these images right before they can be accessed and so it doesn't screw up (i.e.) press back button too many times fast and the pictures don't animate..would it be something where I would preload every image separately and have if else statements.
I've built a flash XML gallery (using the kirupa tutorial) and i would like to change one thing: instead of having to wait between each image for a loading (even if it can be real quick) i'd prefer preload all images before, in the way the mcLoader class does (progressively). I've triyed some things like assigning a massLoad of the images on first frame, or loading (on first frame too) all images in a mcLoader hidden under the movieclip which loads the pictures found in the XML but none worked. I've triyed to change some lines in the code but it was a disaster too, as long as i don't really understand all the code (but only globally).
I'm building a Flash photo gallery, and I came up with a solution using Flash and XML which is very, very similar to the one in this tutorial: [URL]. The catch is, I'd like to preload all of the images listed in the XML array before showing the first picture. Simply using _framesloaded will obviously not work; I searched around a bit on Internet, but I haven't yet found a solution. I thought I might try using an external script in PHP or javascript and use fscommand() in Flash, but I wanted to post here to see if anyone could think of another (simpler) way.
I'm using a txt file that contains variables for image locations and text descriptions for a gallery. I'm currently using the following code to load the info: loadVariablesNum("info.txt", 0); Works great until I put in on a website. Is this a preloading issue?
I've made this photo gallery but I'd like to add some extra things but don't know how to do it. #1 - a preloader for the image loading, #2 - make the image to show gradually like fading in in the box.
I am using CS4 and ActionScript 2.0.I am trying to create a photo gallery.I have created 4 different movie clip buttons that reside on the content layer.Each button consists of one image.When the movie clip button is pressed, I want the full size image to appear on the stage next to the buttons.You can see the buttons in the image below.I am trying to create an empty movie clip holder that would reside on the main timeline while the buttons reside on the content layer.I need to get the images to load into the empty movie clip and then unload when the next button is selected?I can't seem to get the buttons to "talk" to the empty movie clip holder.I did manage to create code for an empty movie clip holder within each button, but then I end up with all four images on top of each other.
