ActionScript 3.0 :: Record Button Clicks Or Keyboard Presses Of A Certain Number And Display In The Text Box?

Looking to do a keypad in as3. So i have 10 numeric buttons, labelled num1-num10. I have a dynamic textbox that I'll show my presses. How do you record button clicks or keyboard presses of a certain number and display in the text box?
I have an AS2 code and I want it to be "processed" and the corresponding swf file be displayed only when the user clicks a button on my webpage.how do I implement it?
I've created a dropdown menu which drops down onClick. gotoAndPlay("2") I have been trying to create some AS 3 code that, evaluates the number of clicks and therefore, if the menu button is clicked for a second time it goes to it's original state. ("1") and creates the illusion of closing. Rather than as it does at the moment and repeats the the process of opening.

I need to show the amount of times the counter has been moved along the board, ie how many turns the player has.
the dynamic text box is called 'moves' and the counter is a button which is pressed for each move. Therefore, it would need to be added to the onRelease function.
I'm trying to create a shuffle button for my mp3 player. I don't want it to repeat any song in the xml playlist until all the songs are played. Is there to display a random number on the click of a button, without repeating any number in the array until all the numbers in the array are used?

i want to measure the number of key presses or mouse clicks (not sure what's easier) within a 30 second interval. the number of clicks/presses corresponds to the timeline, which has different looping animations at different speeds. so if u click/press lots, you move to a faster animation. it reassesses every 30 secs to move you or keep you where you are. I'm really unsure how to go about counting presses or clicks. I'm really stuck.

the above code works perfectly and it does trace back the result. However I'm confused on how i can put the result in the dynamic text field i have on stage. Can i use the instance name to do this...
I am creating a dynamic text field and "next" button. When the movie is played, the number "1" will be displayed on dynamic text field. When the "next" button is pressed, the dynamic text field will display 2 and so on...

I'm completely new to AS3/Flash programming, though I program in C/C++/C# in my job. These days I got a project idea which I think Flash would better fit than the other languages I mentioned above. I want to create an on-line automation application that can:
1. Control user mouse clicks, or eventually keyboard, pressing some keys;
2. Communicate/connect to the user's bluetooth device, establishing connections to the mobile devices attached to it - the web application in this case would act as a server.
I'm making a menu. It consist of three mc's (btn1, btn2 and btn3) and two squares The two squares rescale horizontal in different directions depending on the button that is presses. When the squares come to an hold there is a little gap between them underneath the button that was presses and the button is going 20 pixels down into that gap. Below is the code I have used:
When the movie starts everything is fine. First the two squares are rescaling. When that is done the buttons are fading in and finaly btn1 is going 20 pixels down in to the gap. But what I would like to accomplish now is that when btn2 is pressed that first btn1 is going back up again when that is done that the two squares are rescaling untill the gap is below btn2 and that after that btn 2 is going down 20 pixels.
And that is where I have problems. Point one when I don't know how to integrate a if (if used) in the button event, so everything is going to move at the same time(btn2 already moves before the squares are in place and the squares are already moving before btn1 is back up again) and secondly the way I have it now btn1 is indeed moving back up again, but after that its up it also going back down again.
I have a result screen that shows bonus points and such. I want each text field to increment one after another and also have it increment by a certain amount each frame. Result Screen pops up. First is the player score check the player score, is it more than the score we want to display if the player score is greater than the player display score by 100 increase the player display score by 100 if the player score is greater than the player display score by 10 increase the player display score by 10 else increase the player display score by 1 when finished move to the next score...and so on. I have thought of using timers to move from one score to the next, but not being in an Event.ENTER_FRAME it only does one if then moves to the next one.
Also the if statement for incrementing the score looks ridiculous and I'm thinking there has to be a better way to do it. I was thinking of making it a separate function but then I wouldn't know what to return, or how to return it so it looks like its increasing and not just showing the total number instantly. I'll try to expand on it a little more.
I have an AS3 file that pulls an XML feed from a site. All the file does is display a number in a dynamic text box. On my desktop it works fine the feed is parsed in the output window and in the dynamic text box, joy! I upload the file to the CMS we are using and, no joy all I get is 'Loading' in the window. I get Loading because I input that in the tf so it wouldn't be blank.
So the question is, is there a fundamental flaw in my code or is it more likely to be the CMS? Im hoping it is the code, otherwise it is back to the drawing board.
I'm trying to get a slider to display a number in a Dynamic text field as it is dragged. I think this is the only time I can say it would be easier in AS3! Sooo, I made the slider and the code to move it, but I cant get the number to pass into it. My trace command fires but I get some static numbers in the text box. I'm just so confused, is it my var, or the math operator, or just syntax?

How do I use sharedObject to track the number of clicks and store them in a .txt file? My client wants to track the clicks of the user an Im not sure how to make this work with sharedObject.

In a mini flash game, I have a few different level select buttons, and they all attach to one "levelChange()" function, and I'm just wondering if there is an attribute that stores which button was pressed or how to determine which was pressed if not.
Basically, I want to create a button (Instance Name: blueSquare). Each time the button is pressed, I want actionscript to "count" each button press (the maximum is 100 presses). When the number reaches 100 presses, I would like a new button to appear next to it ( Instance Name: redCirlce).

I have worked on one which I am almost happy with but there are things wrong with it. (if anyone has any good tutorials or FLAs on this that would be great). But my main problem is now simply just having a button so when you rollover it, it changes colour and when you click it it stays on that colour so you can see which button is currently active. How do people go about scripting buttons to work properly like this? I have this code but it runs into too many problems...

I'm attempting to create a few very simple flash games, but I haven't been able to figure out the coding. What I am attempting is to have 4 buttons each activated on a different keypress. Each time a user presses one of the keys, a specific animation is triggered, showing that the key was pressed. What I need to know is- how do I have flash trigger a final animation when all four keys have been pressed?
I tried making a set of dynamic text boxes that would change text, one for each button. I figured flash could run a simple string check (like in the basic password tutorial here) and if they all proved true it could goto and play the next scene or another MC. BUT- It seems to only check at the beginning of the movie, and if I attached it to onEnterFrame, Flash would have a cow about my syntax!
I have attached a copy of what I am trying to do and basically everything works. Except my button in the loaded movie....I am trying to load a movie in a holder and have a button that had if else statement based on the movie being clicked. I have attempted this buy setting up a count on a movieClip but this seems to disable the buttons in the loading movie?
If I have several items that move across the screen but the user can click any of them at any time, how do I record the current position of any of the items item in order to use that data to change the position of the item after the user clicks?
This is what I am doing: I have 11 images that slide accross the screen. The user can click any of them at any time. When he clicks one I am scaling the image so it looks like it is comming forward (z axis) and then the rest of the images are scaled down so it looks like they are going back on z axis. So what I am trying to do is get the current position of the image when the user clicks the image so that I can use that to correctly estimate the scaling and moving of the image to make it look like it scales from the center and not from the top left corner. So if have a variable that gets the current position of the image being clicked I'm thinking I can change its position using something like: x = currentposition + -45;
