Dyamic text box timer problem?

on first click it adds number 10 then it doesnt goto 20 on the next clicks?
I'm learning AS3 and I can't get this to work for me. In AS2 I would add a unique var to my buttons. If you clicked any of them they would just play() the main time line. Then when they got to the next keyframe it would look for the var and then go to the corresponding keyframe. How do I do this in AS3?

View 6 Repliesi am a beginner user of flash & i think i have mentioned this in my earlier post here few days back , i have just made a little dynamic text field and loading some html text and images into it via xml CDATA node. everything is working fine i just wanted to put some animation effects on my text field while loading it through xml ...i added some motion tween in the beginning which actually moves whole text field from out side of canvas to inside at its original place with ease out . its looking fine to me but i noticed that dynamic text loads a bit late and during tweening i just see empty text field .so i was wondering how to put some simple effects on loading dynamic text

Why do I get Numbers into the tens of decimal points?
I am learning flash and recently bought a flash template so I could see how it was structured etc. The vertical menu on the flash template plays fine when ran locally but when I upload it to the web the text on the vertical menu doesnt all show (i.e. the text is half cut off).

so i can click on a button and after 2 seconds my swf loads fine. but then when i click on the other button to unload, remove it. It plays again...how can i remove it so it doesnt keep adding itself.
I have four scenes, it loads on the first scene. I click the button which sould go to scene four but it goes to scene 2.
View 2 RepliesI have a text box layer on top of the talk bubble. At first it is blank, then I click on Hello Kitty and a random phrase pops up in the text box from the array I created. However, when I click her again she will not say another random phrase. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Here is the code.

I have come across a weird problem with the NumericStepper component. Instead of for example changing number 6 to 7 when I press the up-arrow it changes into 61. And then 611, 6111 when i keep on going. If I leave the stepper and comes back to it, it works like it should

I have a seek bar for video player just like youtube, user can drag the cursor in seekbar or click anywhere on seekbar to jump to the time I use mouse.down and mouse_up event for dragging the cursor:

here is my problem: if I do only clicking or dragging nothing wrong but when I do both clicking works but dragging isnt when mc.cursor.mouseEvent up is called mc.mouseEvent click is also called and since mc.cursor is clicked click event got the coordinates wrong I remove the click event in mouseEvent up function in 1st line and in the last line I add again but it does the samething again
1. Im getting the mouse location so that when its at the top of the screen a dropdown menu appears. It works fine on my first two frame, but on my third the drop down doesnt move unless my mouse passes over it.

I'm trying to create a game for a class project, using Flash MX. Unfortunatly, I am unable to figure out how to goto a new scene when the score reaches a certain number.
The ActionScript for it is...:

I've even tried using ""'s around 'score' and other things, but still no luck. I still havn't figured out the stupid timer either...

To be quite honest it's been a nightmare, but I'm starting to see its good points now.One thing that still drives me crazy is when you create a new tween and Flash creates a new layer for you and puts the tween into it.
