ActionScript 3.0 :: RemoveChild(); For Game Animation?

It has been a ong time since I have poste a question but I am returning t AS3 after a break.I am starting a simple game and have used the "Copy as Motion in Action Script" after creating a Motion Tween in the timeline.The test works fine but I am not able to removeChild().After clearing up the error messages one by one I have a working anmation that will not remove itself.I have kept this part f the code in red. I have moved the addEventListener inside and outside the curly brackets with no difference in the end result.

Im trying to removechild and at the same time stop all the on going animation and sound, in a way reset them so that if this child is added again it plays like it did the first time.
I've tried these scripts but non work, either i get an error or the sound doesnt stop and the animations stack:

I'm trying to build a conditional statement that will addChild and removeChild at different Timer Delays. Before I go any further, I thought, I should mention that I'm usinig TweenMax to ease the alpha of ease Child from 1 to 0 and back during the process to imitate a fade-in/out.
I'm getting issue with only one line - inside a conditional statement.It's running "OK". The movie runs as I want it, but the remove/addChild transitions are not at the speed I want it at. I am getting an error message in the output, but other than that, the movie runs fine.

Just as the title says, can flash be used in an android game to show animation? Like say an animated Lightning bolt appearing on the screen when a user touches a spot on the touch screen?
If this is not possible, what are alternatives to this?

I am currently making a platformer game but I can't seem to get a walking animation for my character. So far I have made a character which can move fine. Inside the characters movie clip are 2 frames (one standing and one walking) Now my problem is that I can get my character to move right and play the walking animation but when I walk left the walking animation doesn't play but the character still moves. I am using action script 2 and flash pro 8

im a cs5 noob and i have been working on a platform game. I recently created my first main player animation. My question is how would i import that animation to my game?Can i compress the animation to only use 1 layer at all? right now my original is using about 6 layers for 40 frames. How can i take my 6 layer animation .flv file and incorporate it into my game? also, how would i call the animation in as3?[code]

Can't figure the best/conventional way to manage the sprites/animation. Players are supposed to upgrade their weapons and armors, and its to reflect on their character appearance. Instead of drawing each armor to pair with each weapon. What are the best way to go? I've tried nesting weapons(sub-movieclip) inside each set of armors(main movieclip). But then I have trouble playing the clip using gotoAndStop().

Basically what happens is 5 eggs fall from the top of the screen. What I'm trying to have happen is, to have flash recognize when all 5 have been clicked and goto and stop on frame 3. The other problem is I want the animation to reset when the timer runs out. Thus clearing all current eggs off the stage. I've zipped the 2 files I'm working with the (fla and as files).

I have a movieclip that shows an animation onRollOver and an animation on RollOut but onRelease the animation enlarge itselfs but now when I'll roll out when the animation isn't open (so i didn't release) the animation plays the animation for the minimizing of the animation. I am going to develop a very simple game for android and for iphone/ipad I have the option to develop it in cocos2d or in adobe flash air (i am not a developer, but i have 2 developers who are offering me the service)I have a developer that states that cocos2d is better and other one that states that adobe flash air.I want it in cross platform.the cost offered by both developers is the same..i have heard that adobe air has the flaw that it is very slow, is this real? if you had the 2 options which will you use to develop your game and why?

im trying to create a tamagotchi game type game. For some reason i can not add any items to the stage.Currently i have imported 2 png images to the stage and coverted them to movie clips. One is called TamagotchiCharacter and the other is called Beer. I have also created a new 2 AS3.0 script class called TamagotchiGame and DraggableItem. The following is TamagotchiGame:

It's about the "Game Character Dialogues", It is used to instruct the user what to do, like what you see in BookWorm or Diner DAsh.I used dynamic text fields to generate these dialogues,but as I continued doing it. I found myself stuck.I have no idea on how to change the words when the "next" button is clicked. there will be no previous button. but the dialogue will replay when the character is clicked.

Is there a way to get this code to work? It's meant to count the seconds passed while playing the game and gives a bonus multiplier to the current score when the game ends. I don't know how to get the returned value to combine it into the multiplier int variable. Is there any way to get this code to work or is it completely wrong?

I am making a Shooting game in flash actionscript 3 and have some questions about the flow of logic and how to smartly use the OOPs concepts.There are mainly 3 classes:Main Class: Initializes the objects on the screen.Enemy Class: For moving the enemies around on the screen.Bullet Class: For shooting.What I want to do is find out if the Enemy has been hit by a bullet and do things which must be done as a result ...What I am doing right now is that I have a ENTER_FRAME event in which i check collision detection of each enemy unit (saved in an array) with the bullet instance created, and if it collides then perform all the necessary actions in the Main class .. clogging the Main class in the process

im creating a card game. i have a seperate timeline for the menu bar. ive placed this code on the first cell of the timeline:

the problem i get is that when the user selects "new game" it should restart the game. when it does this the toolbar is not reset. instead a new menu item is added (without removing the old one. so evertime the user hits new game, a new "file" menu is added). how do i make sure there is only 1 "File" menu? and im using actionscript 2

ok lets say you create a button that when held down play an animation of 20 frames if realsed it goes to frame one and stops if held down it plays out this animation. for the topic lets say you have a fire animation and you want the fire to apear and if the user hold its down the animation reaches the end of the time line and loops back and plays the last 5 frames of the animation and as soon as it is let go it goes to and stops at frame one. Well i know how to make a button that when held down plays out an animation. And i know how to say when released goes to and stops at frame one. What i dont know how to do is to loop the fire at the last 5 or 6 frames so the user can hold it down all day long and play out that animation.

Ok when you press link one it olads great! when i press link 2, it plays the closing animation, but not the entire animation, thats the problem.My closing animation is a red square going from one end to another ( for the hell of it).But you see content number two will load b4 the red square gets all the way across!!
