ActionScript 3.0 :: Swf Address + Arrays + Dynamic Website

Im trying to make a website using swfaddress, and i cant figure out how to do the dynamics with arrays, rather then putting the motion tweening in the frames. What i got so far: everything is working as long as you use the buttons on the page, each button in the menu makes the previous page go away and brings up a new page according to the button pressed (its just white square, that comes from the bottom of the screen) dynamically.
Buttons and pages are located in the first frame, then i ve got keyframes: about, gallery, etc. The problem comes up when i upload it in the internet, and i try to use the back and forward buttons in the browser, my white square windows (pages) are only capable of moving out of the page, but a new white square doesnt come up.

flash shows info page and changes address bar in browser to http:[url]...info and vice versa: I put http:[url]...info into address bar flash changes it's subpage to info.I want it to be one flash file as index.php page without any reloadings, just like in[url].....

I'm trying to implement swf address with my website that uses external swfs as the 'pages'.

But I haven't been able to find an example file with example code that I can ferret out how to apply this to my website. I've also checked the swfaddress and while there is a link to this:[URL].Also... is it unwise to retroactively work in swfaddress to an already compiled as or should i be starting fresh, knowing that I am going to give unique urls to various buttons, that when clicked, bring up a certain 'page' or external swf?

I have a "handmade" button (_btn as instance name), with only a dynamicText inside (or can I say one dynaticText for each of the four button modes). The dynamicText for Up mode has an instance name of "_text".
So if I am working on the AS of the movieClip that contains the button, how can I address the text of the dynamic text?[code]...

if I create a new AS3 file with the following code:

I have created an array, however, when I go to call up this array within a dynamic text box, for instance, putting 'varname[1]', into the variable field. However, this does not return a result. Is there something I'm doing wrong here, or do I have to feed the array into normal variables for the dynamic text box to be able to read it?

In the AS2 days you could create an array and add a bunch of Mc names to it like so
Code: Select allarray("clipA","clipB","clipC", etc..)
Then you could use this array to reference clips dynamicly or on stage to do stuff.I was trying to do the same with AS3 but came across a problem I've not found an answer to yet. I created the following code:

Now with the line:

I get: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert []@369e8581 to flash.display.MovieClip.but if I remove that line, it works. My problem is that I need to make it a "var" of type movieclip before I can assign a listener to it. Why can't I build an array of movieclip names using:

I have seen arrays in the past that contain:
Code: Select allarray(mc1,mc2,cm3, etc...)
but notice that it's just using the name of the clip and not array("mc1","mc2","mc3", etc..)

I'm not quite sure how to do this - I'm building an admin interface to sort the order of a series of flash slides into a dynamic presentation. The admin interface pulls the slides from xml and displays each as a thumbnail. The thumbnails, when dragged, reorder themselves in the array appropriately. The problem is, I want the actual array of slides to reorganize itself accordingly. My code is this:

So what I want to do is take the change in the array (say 0 moves in front of 1 in project_thumbs_array) - and make sure that my other array (project_clips_array) moves item 0 in front of 1 as well. I thought something like this might work but it doesn't:

I would like to try to build a big site - something like facebook () but in flash. What is the optimal resolution for this mission? I'm planning to do the integration like that:
Flash AS3.0---XML--->PHP---SQL--->MySQL---Data--->PHP---XML--->Flash AS3.0
What classes should I pay attention for? I want to apply the aforementioned integration for anything: Login the user, read messages etc. I think the "loyal" way to transfer data is with XML, but for a short and simple (username and password only) Login- maybe in fact the best way is GET method? or still XML? I heard the best way is to create one function for the Integration-how do u think to do it?

I am running into some trouble adding an array into another array to create a multi-dimensional array.The code appears as below:

I am looking for a means of placing the slideDataArray into a 'slot' or value of slideShowDataArray so that I can in the end pass the slideShowDataArray as a parameter to another function.As of now, the last slideDataArray appears 11 times (the loop runs 11 times) in slideShowDataArray and the way the code is written the slideDataArray is unique every iteration of the loop.

(The XML file is basically several biographys of guys with several subpages of each) I want to add a listener to each so when you click on whichever button it goes to the correct biography & subpage. I have my main movie, which contains the logo and navigation.I have a blank movieclip created with actionscript that loads the individual movie swf files.That works fine.What I want to do, and which I can't figure out is dynamically have the main navigation buttons' text indicate what page you the user is on. Right now the code is on each button instance, example:[code]so the variable aMenu holds the moveclip names of the buttons. pageHolder holds the the name of the current page that is loaded.Thats how I change the pages to be loaded. To explain, if you look at the button code, the text for each button is by default greay and when you rollover it becomes black and off and it becomes gray again. That is on the first frame. On the second frame the text is black.In the code I tried to make the black dynamically, but it didn't work, so I settled for going to the second frame and stopping.My second question(much shorter I promise).I guess its preference, but is it generally good to put the code on each instance of a button or put in in the main frame where your code lies.

I'm creating a website for a friend which it's being made using Dynamic Texts (he wants different switchable languages). Problems come when submitting the Form... I've used the same Form model (formmail) for other websites which did not use any Dynamic Text and they worked without problems. The exact problem is that the submitted Form is not received (don't think it's even sent) to the specified email address. However, if the same website does not contain any dynamic text, then the form works properly and the query is received at my mailbox. Has anybody experienced a similar situation?? I'm completely lost because I can't understand the reason for this behaviour, the only thing I know for sure is that the problem is variable related.

I've got a bit that loads a big chunk of xml data about products.I push product info into an array(e.g. productArray), then add that array to another array (e.g. allProductsArray)How do I sort those arrays? For instance, if I want to sort the allProductsArray based on the info in productArray[0]?Alternatively, would something other tha an array of arrays be a better route?This loader loads the same sort of info for many different clients, so the bit to sort on will change.

I'm trying to write a function where I can specify any amount of array, and the return value will be an array containing the contents of all of the specified arrays.I've done this, but it seems like a really slow and ugly way of doing it:
var ar1:Array = [1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9];
var ar2:Array = ['a','b','c','d','e','f','g','h'];
function merge(...multi):Array[code].....
Is there an inbuilt and more efficient / nice way of achieving this? The result does not need to be in the same order as the input - completely unsorted is fine.

A little explanation: Im making a random arranging number Array. So instead of using a loop and assigning 0 to first array element, 1 to second, etc.I need to make it totally random but without repeating any numbers. To do that I made a second Array that will have the same number of children to serve as a reference.Each of them will be an Object with a property "num" , wich will be its actual number, and a property "called" wich defaults to false.Like this:

I've had a problem for awhile that was really odd. After some intense debugging, I realized the problem lied in setting an array equal to another array.[code] When setting one array equal to another, the values aren't copied over, but a reference to that memory is stored. So no matter which variable you change, they are both references to the same memory and thus both will reflect the changes.With other data types, this doesn't happen.I could fix it by looping through t1 and using push() to add each index from t1 into t2, but that seems a little messy.
