Oct 18, 2011in Flash CS4 I have static text like: Line1 and line2 It's in 9 point Arial Regular as a device font. If I set the line spacing below 3.9 the second line dissappears from the compiled SWF file. It still shows in the FLA file. The same thing happens at 6pt but NOT at 5pt or less.

Sep 26, 2007When a Dynamic Multiple line text field is used in Flash CS3, it has a very annoying feature that auto inserts a line break at the end of inserted text. It also auto inserts a line break if no text is entered too.
I'm having a problem with this because the text is being saved from flash to a text file on the desktop. With every multi-line text field there's a nasty looking line break.
Any way of "turning off" this auto-line-break-at-the-end feature?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Evt.target.data Freezes - Line Doesn't Get Executed
Jun 29, 2009So I have a bit of an odd error.

The line that says xmlData = XML(evt.target.data) freezes my program. Nothing gets past that line. I have no idea what's causing this problem... What I mean by nothing gets past it is that anything anfter that line doesn't get executed. I put the userArea.addChild(userList) before all over the function to determine where the problem was and it's only after that line that my userList was no long showing up.

Jul 28, 2011I have a little snippet of code that allows the user to create a line with the mouse, and clears the line if they end up touching the hitbox with the mouse, while they're drawing the line. It works fine when it's just thrown onto the main timeline. However, when I try to encapsulate it within a movie clip, it suddenly doesn't work. At all. Jun 20, 2011So I have a simple game I'm making where you are a box shaped character and you have basic movement around the screen. I know how to make walls and the coding but I would like to make a wall that the character can't go through on either of the 4 sides or even a squiggly line that doesn't have a definite shape. And that does kind of work, but it's not stable (works better with one side only). Sometimes one side of the wall, the character will still be able to go through. The tool I'm using to make the wall is a rectangle tool if that makes any difference. And I'm on actionscipt 2.0 on adobe flash cs4.
IDE :: Text Panel Properties Doesn't Allow To Underline Text Or To Highlight And Edit A Single Word In A Whole Text Box - Missing?
Oct 1, 2009I used to have a little text panel (that sat with the color, swatches, and align panels) that I was able to open up and edit text size, color, underline, etc with. It had a much better text editing ability then the properties panel, seeing as the properties panel does not even bother to allow me to underline text or to highlight and edit a single word in a whole text box. Now I don't have it, I can't find the damn thing anywhere, and I want it back. How can I get it?

Mar 28, 2011I have firefox 3.6.15 with flash debug version 10.3. whenever an error occurs a popups comes up with the error and a stack trace but it does not line numbers of each leaf in the stack trace which makes it more difficult to debug. how to configure it to actually show line numbers ?
I think it may relate to how I compile my flash application. (i think!) i use eclipse FDT 4.2 to compile and i added the following compiler flags: -debug=true -compiler.verbose-stacktraces i think these parameters should be enough but I may be wrong.

I know that using delta of the scrollEvent will give me direction but everytime i try to increment and decrement the y value of the image the image doesn't follow the line of text perfectly it tends to "crawl" if you will.

I have made the editable text field and scroll bar and set all of my preferences, but when the typing reaches the border on the right of the text field it just continues to type further horizontaly. I can start a new line by pressing enter but I would like it to start a new line on its own when it reaches the boundary.

Can't Change Text Properties By Line In Scrolling Text Box
Mar 3, 2011I have a simple text box with a UIScrollBar component added to it.
The text box properties are set to "input text, multi line.
The problem is when I want to change just one line of the text to a bold or a different color, the whole text box contents changes. I've tried different property setting for the text box itself with no luck.

Nov 23, 2011I've seen similar threads but couldn't find one with the exact same issue. I've a PDF / Word document with arabic copy when I try pasting that text in flash all the joined letters start appearing as individual letters.I've tried the dynamic text box solution in which you create a dynamic text box and assign the text to its variable that doesn't work. But strangely when you write arabic in dynamic text box (with out assigning the text to the variable) and double click to select the text box and its content the text starts appearing fine .. but when published its again all individual letter.

Flash :: Google Visualization : Annotated Time Line With Wmode="opaque" Doesn't Recognize Mouse Scroll In Most Browser?
Jan 17, 2011As stated in the title, I am now trying to create a chart using Google visualization: annotated time line. It's very easy to use and the documentation is fairly easy to understand as well. You can find the documentation here.I run into a problem about the wmode of the chart which is a flash object.The default value of the chart's wmode is "window" and it will always overlay all HTML objects in the same page. That is very annoying, because even the jquery block() method doesn't work on it.
When I change the chart's wmode into "opaque" or "transparent" the chart will not overlay HTML objects with higher z-index, but it doesn't recognize the mouse scroll event. It still catch the mouse click event though.I have tried it in the following browser:
