ActionScript 3.0 :: Track In A .csv File What Buttons People Click?

I'm trying to do something I'm sure which is really basic and hope some wonderful person out their could spare me a few mins of time before I top myself. I have 8 buttons that appear after a very poor animation sequence which all link to different websites. I simply want to track in a .csv file what buttons people click, and if possible to wack a date and time stamp against when each button was clicked. I bet you're thinking this guys a complete fool for posting this but the last time I used Flash was version 4 and that was for basic banner animation. I don't have the foggy-ist about AS 2.0 or 3.0 and I've been reading I need to use .PHP script to pass the data out to the CSV file (SCARY for someone who see's code as gobble-de-gook).

So i have this bit of code that triggers a bunch of stuff on a buttons over/out/down etc... I also have a variable on the _root time line that declares a clicked variable so i can keep track of the buttons click state. Ok so now the trouble... Im changing my (working) buttons to movieclip buttons to take advantage of the MC properties (ie. goToPlay - etc.. ). But this screws up my working AS and im not sure why? In particular the "if" statement that keeps track of the clicked variable does not seem to be functioning. Is there a problem putting if statement on a MC button? How do i fix this? I am making a dynamic banner system which can handle img banners, as well as flash banners done with object/embed. The entire site makes heavy use of jQuery, including handling the 'click' events.
This obviously isn't a problem when it comes to tracking the clicks on the image itself (i track the click on the parent DIV tag. However, it fails when the advert is an SWF, as I suspected it would.Is there a jQuery workaround that would allow me to capture a click on a Flash element with the DOM?

I'm making a mp3 player using flash. when i test the movie it starts playing fine but when i click the next button the current track keeps playing while the next one starts. plus the stop button it's not working. here is the code.

I am using Macromedia Flash Pro 8. I have a flash intro that has words (phrases) which slide in. I would like to add a 7 second pause between each phrase to give people time to read them (no buttons). Could someone tell me the script(s) to use with all functions, etc. included - as I am so new to all this. I have been looking for weeks & tried many codes but none seem to work - or I don't know exactly where to place them - or both

I'm trying to figure out the best way to email my flash file to a large group of people for quick viewing.There are people with all different kinds of software and computers, so I don't want to zip anything.The projector file I made is too big to send out.Does anybody have any suggestions on how to email flash files for quick, simple viewing?

If I have 10 buttons, how do I keep track of the order of buttons I click on? For example, if I click buttons only in this order: button3, button6, button8, button2, something will happen. Maybe plays a sound tone such as sound.mp3. I'm going to use actionscript 2.0 in my movie.

I need to know which button is pressed, so i use the (tricky) unprofessional methode: event.target.name.the question is; how can I know which button is pressed, using a custom event, this custom event should pass some vars to the called function, including the j var (from the loop)actually I tried setting a custom event using the example at the noponies accordion menue class, but it's so complicated to get working.

I will inlcude here to code i used and a zipped folder containing all the files of my mp3 player. What i would like to do, (i am not an actionscript expert and did this following a tutorial) is to include a download button for the track which is being listened, be able to insert the playlist 'track buttons' inside the scrollpane on the stage, and sort an annoying bug which makes the music form the player continue even when i leave the section of the site where its in, keeping the music in the background running and starting a new track ontop every time i renter the section where the player is placed.

ive got a loaded xml list for an mp3 player. from playing track1, when i select track 2, it traces "track1" but then after a second click it traces "track2" and stays on that. the actually music for track2 does load on the first click though, but not the trace. anyone know why on the first click it would still trace the previous track? here is the code for that function...

I am creating a navigation bar in Flash (which will then be used in Dreamweaver). When you mouse over each topic in menu (ex. Products), i want it play a movie clip (so it shoots out a sub-menu underneath). so far so good, but the only thing is, the sub-menu won't stay open in order for me to click on buttons in it. For each button, I assigned it the Behavior to go to a url. Also, I tested the buttons within the mc and they don't seem to direct me to url. do you think maybe it's because it's nested within the movie clip?? Is there an easier way to go about this?

I have all of my files in version control (SVN subversion). FLA file is not a text file, so when I change it and check it in, there isn't a way to see what has changed inside of FLA.
Is there a way to keep track of changes to FLA file and it's contents?

I am trying to track mouse location on the stage in a swf file with Action script. I found properties that appear to have x and y location, stageX and stageY as well as localX and localY. But I am getting compiler errors to the effect of attempt to access possibly undefined property: as follows: 1119: Access of possibly undefined property stageX through a reference with static type Class.

I have a movie clip on the stage which contains buttons and actions for various things. This works fine on its own...I have another button on the top level that does other things... This works fine on its own...What I need to do though is have a button over a button eg. When I press the button on the stage the single click actions both the button on the stage and the buttons in the movie clip.I know you can�t have two buttons on top of each other on the stage, so how can I achieve this through AS2.I click on one button and a click is replicated on the other button.

The buttons are contained in a movie clip.When you click the button, it starts the movie clip and makes the page "flip".Problem is, if i click back to page 1 and go back to page 2, it now takes two button clicks to start the movie clip.I put this action in the button where "page2" is the instance name of the movieclip:[code]

I have a flash game where a mallot will move with the mouse and when clicked, activate a button on the mallot using "onRelease". When the button on the mallet is clicked it doesn't activate the "onRelease" of the button under the mallet's current position.

I have an fms app which won't disconnect people in IE unless they close the browser completely. Simply going to another url in the browser leaves their name in the peoplelist. I've tried everything here without success. Even IE 8 shows same problem on Vista. IE on XP works fine as well as some versions of IE on Vista.Firefox, opera, chrome all work fine everytime.The problem, it seems, is IE won't "leave" pages until it's closed no matter what.

I try to make those isometric art in photoshop and stuff, but it's almost impossible for me. I use a tablet.So I'm wondering how do so many people make that art work so easily?

[URL] I came to hear that many people cannot load the site entirely. I cannot reproduce the problem as it works for me with all kinds of connections (even a crappy usb modem in Indonesia!). I've asked friends all over the world to check it and they have had no problems. But I've also recevied e-mails from completely unrelated people from different parts of the world, using different OS and browsers, that it will only load to 66% and then gets stuck. I built a simple jpg comp click-through as a software demo, and inserted flash movies to simulate interative buttons (hover styles basically). I am using the SWFobject script to load the swfs, and they render properly. However, they seem to need a single click within the swf to "activate" them. This not the IE click to activate issue. They look correct. They just don't interact with the mouse until I have clicked inside the SWF once. This has the effect of making all the button require a double-click to work, and means that when I hover on them, they do not animate until after I have clicked inside.
This only seems to happen in Firefox... FF 3.6.3 and Flash Player 10,0,45,2
