i'm learning AS3.0 just 2 days. i create a XML menu in AS3.0 /with tutorial/. my problem is loading external SWFs in AS 3.0, SWFs layered each other? i mean first one remove the previous one and load other one? and here is my code.

I have a "about.swf" file that loads a CSS file and formats some dynamic HTML text. On its own, it works fine...but when it gets loaded into my "Main.swf", it doesn't work. What am I doing wrong? Is there a bug that doesn't let you load CSS with external .swf's?My style sheet and index file holding the "Main.swf" are all on the root level of my site. The "Main.swf" has a "holder_mc" clip that I load the "about.swf" into which has the CSS formatting. When loaded into "Main.swf", it doesn't work.
View 9 RepliesI am loading an external swf animation and playing an audio which should be synchronized with the loaded swf i have used the loader class for loading swf and sound channel to load sound, when the audio gets fully loaded only we are calling function to load swf, at that time audio remains stopped when the swf too gets fully loaded, we are adding swf int stage and playing the audio. In local system it works fine but when we upload it its not synchronizingly properly for the first time The issue what i see is that swf (only one is there) gets loaded frome inbetween ie the first ceration animations are missing. and audio is playing from the begining why is it so....

I am having trouble loading external .swf files. I use the following code for my loader:

The issue is that the progress reaches 100% but the other file never shows. I also know the progress check is redundant and that the complete event should do the same, but that was one of my attempts at debugging.
The code I gave is a chop-up of the hours-load of tutorials I have been reading, and is just meant to be a test file for me to work with loading external flash files.
I do know how to make preloaders but I was curious on how to load an external swf. Do you load them making a preloader for the swf which is being loaded, or from the main movie _root level make a preloader for the external swf. My question is basically where to make the preloader.

View 2 RepliesI'm using AS2 and Flash CS4. I'm having problems loading an external swf correctly. I get it loaded and displayed ok, but not in the correct spot. The movie clip is the same size as swf, and the registration point is in the top left corner. However, each time it loads it ends up in the bottom right corner of the screen.

When I upload the HTML and SWF file to my webhost (Just Host), however, it doesn't load the images!!! I know my app is getting invoked and it appears to work fine when I hardcode the image url into the flash app. But the query method just does not seem to be working!
This is hosted on a linux site supporting php.
I have an image gallery consisting of thumbnail buttons, which load the external fade in/out files. When the buttons are on the main timeline everything works perfectly, but I wanted them to be scrollable so I placed them within a MC, still on the main timeline, and now the externals wont load the scrolling and button actions are fine.

The Problem here is the movie still keeps playing and nothing I have tried has been able to stop it. I was hoping to be able to continually addSWF's and removeSWF's out of my emptyMovieClip_mc. I read about the new .unloadAndStop function for Flash Player 10. Tried it and it still nothing. I wrote it like this, maybe it's wrong?

I finished my first as3 project that wasn't Hello World and I wanted to send it to a friend. So I put together an .HTML document to load the .swf file but when I open it as a page the game is larger than the displayed area even though my project is 640X480 and the HTML is set to display that (the .swf displays correctly when opened with the stand alone viewer). I also went into the bin/index.html file in my project and edited the height and width from "100%" to "640" and "480" respectively. I have tried adjusting and changing every parameter and value that I could find to try and fix this issue.

I have a movieclip clip that plays when the movie starts, the movieclip is a visual assets that show's that the application is loading some information but it's not showing any loading progress, just playing while the assets are loaded.I created a for loop that will load the assets using a simple loader, and then when the object is loaded the application push the object to an array.Problem is that when the loading starts all the animation that i have on screen stops until the loading is finished.The whole point is that the animation will play while it's loading.

[FMX] I am having trouble loading an XML file on an external server into my flash movie when it is uploaded. The data loads in fine when the flash file is on my local computer with the xml file on a server. As soon as the flash file is uploaded the XML data will not load in.

I have created a main "site.swf" file that loads a "default.swf" file into a container after a preloader. On this default.swf file I have buttons that needs to load new external SWF files in its place in the container. All of the external SWFs contain buttons and navigations that will also call up other external SWFs into this container. So, I would like to know how to program each button (some are movieclips as buttons) to unload itself and load the respective SWF into the container (eg. AboutUsButton to call up aboutus.swf into the container). I do not have a main navigation on the site.swf file bacause the navigation changes on each SWF that needs to be loaded into the container.

I'm loading a external swf into a movie everything is fine with that. The only problem is that its loading only a part of it. Does anybody know why? Also, this swf is a mp3 player with streaming. [URL]/img/20042005113934movie3.swf ) My Loading Progress code fails to detect the SWF file size. However the same code works perfectly for a JPG! Specifically, I am building a flash page that loads external swf files and inside some of the external swf files, I would like to add audio and flash video (flv) streaming from the Flaash Media Server. In some of the external swf files, (using a FLVPlayback component) when you press a button on the main timeline to unload the current playing swf the audio/video continues to play after loading the new external swf file.So I believe that my approach is all wrong and I should be working to dynamically load the .mp3 and.flvs in the external swf ... my questiion is how to unload those assets when loading the new external swf
