I seem unable to get the AS to work in loading the first image.The main script runs after a button has been pressed, but how do I get the following script to execute after the XML file (called pictures) has been loaded. I tried replacing this image with new one, but it's not working as old animation.(Actual Old animation is some thing like Moving a needle, after replacing the image with new one needle is rotating some thing like along the boundary of circle. I am unable to find the root cause and solution.I didn't changed any thing in the code.)How to get the smooth rotation?

I have this which is based off of this question: [URL]. However this neither works in firefox and IE. If I embed my flash into the browser like this:

This is gonna be one howling cool app. I've recorded the pentatonic scale in a regular bluesy amp effect, and I've got a shredding metal-like amp effect recorded ready to go, as well.
I have a trial version of the Adobe Flash CS5 installed on my machine and I am unable to get code hinting to work when I'm working on AS3 files. I've tried doing the reg fix from Lee's blog but still can't get it to work. I've also tried deleting the Flash regkey and the configuration folder but still can't get it to work.

but I am unable to get any AS3 code to work as a Mouse.Click to play the series of keyframes. Every time I try to add a gotoAndPlay to the play_btn my file just starts a continuous loop.
I am loading an external swf animation and playing an audio which should be synchronized with the loaded swf i have used the loader class for loading swf and sound channel to load sound, when the audio gets fully loaded only we are calling function to load swf, at that time audio remains stopped when the swf too gets fully loaded, we are adding swf int stage and playing the audio. In local system it works fine but when we upload it its not synchronizingly properly for the first time The issue what i see is that swf (only one is there) gets loaded frome inbetween ie the first ceration animations are missing. and audio is playing from the begining why is it so....

Have had a flash site created for a disc that works perfectly. Every component of the site works just as it is expected to.
But when I upload the site to a server on the Internet, one component does not work. When you click on the link an image should open in a popup window. The popup window opens but the image does not appear.
Unfortunately, we have not been able to figure out why it works on the disc and not on the server.

I'm using Agile Uploader in my project to resize image before upload on client side.And it works fine except one thing: if image name contains cyrillic letters it fails with server error 500.
How to avoid this or if needed how to rename file with english letters "on fly" (possibly with javascript).
out how to do this but I just can't find anywhere on the internet that has a guide for what I want, probably because of they way I'm wording what I want to do.and allow the user to navigate around it with their mouse, so you move left it goes left, you go up it goes up, etc. On top of the mouse moving bit I want it so that the black area in the image is never shown, so it's as if you are just looking at the image and moving around it.

I ran F9 to see if there is an embedded call for it in an action script and there is none. Then I looked at the entire Library for an Old Image. I still could not find it. I ran into some trouble trying to load a new image from the class other than the "document" class. Attach is a sample of what I'm dealing with. Loader.as is the document class. I can create an image fine from there but not from GamePanel.as.

i am able to upload some data, but its not the image of data. is more like some junk data.
I need to be able to load a jpeg/png image from disk and show it in flex and send it to a server as a base64 encoded string. But once the image file is loaded, in my flash.display.LoaderInfo object, the bytes property (type of ByteArray) contains more byte than the file content.

I have an app wer i drag and drop images onto a canvas and then move them on the canvas to arrange them appropriately. After that i shud be able to click on those images and draw connectors between them as the user seems required. But after dragging and dropping the images on the canvas and arranging them, when i click on the image i am getting a typeerror 1009 error, i.e, "cannot access a property or method of a null object reference".
Actually after arranging the images, i add an event listener to the image(proxy) on the canvas:

This should be rather simple, but for some reason i'm only able to find methods to just diplay a random image, but i want the image to change once a day not every time you load the page.
All i have atm are a empty movieclip to load the photos, an upload system in flash that uploads photos to a specified directory, but now i have to figure out the AS to make the movieclip load a random photo from a specified directory once a day.

So, I opened the text file and started to make changes to certain text and when I view the changes I noticed that certain letters and characters are not being displayed such as the letter w and the question mark ? and other letetrs.here is an example of the text I included in the text file:

I finished my first as3 project that wasn't Hello World and I wanted to send it to a friend. So I put together an .HTML document to load the .swf file but when I open it as a page the game is larger than the displayed area even though my project is 640X480 and the HTML is set to display that (the .swf displays correctly when opened with the stand alone viewer). I also went into the bin/index.html file in my project and edited the height and width from "100%" to "640" and "480" respectively. I have tried adjusting and changing every parameter and value that I could find to try and fix this issue.

I've added Previous/Next buttons which clients always seem to demand, and I've given the thumbnail buttons a static position (something I need to do). I'm having problems getting the buttons to stack in rows/columns though. I can't work with one long column or row of buttons - they need to be stacked in rows, say 6 buttons per row and 6 columns across so that there is a nice box arrangement to the buttons. But the way the functions are written its hard to make adjustments to the placement of clips.
i have an flash file, where i am calling script from the ".as" file. this works fine.Inside the flash file there is no code. All the codes is in the ".as" file. that's ok.But when i change the code into the ".as" file. that code doesn't works. To make that code work i have to re hit the "CTRL+ENTER" than that code works.I have changed the classpath also $(LocalData)/Classes.What i am looking for is, once i made an ".as" file, than i edit that ".as" file without opening the fla file. That code should work.
