I'm trying to make a Flash banner for a website and I'm having trouble with the play/pause part. Right now I've got it set up as 100 frames with 10 keyframes and 10 pictures and at the end it goes back to the beginning. Here's my AS:

How do I make it so that it only reads the first part of hte code and then reads the next after the user clicks it the second time?
I have a timeline of 30 frames, each it's own mc (page01_mc, etc.). In each mc I show a picture or two and hear narration.I have a first, prev and next nav on the main timeline. I need to add a play/pause btn that will pause both pictures and sound. I assume I do that in each mc, but do not know where to find the code.Here is what is in each mc now:

I'm building a portfolio website for my design work. The whole website is Flash based. I have a Flash banner that I would like to add to the website but I can't seem to place it on stage. Is there a way to stream the banner? If I do that, how do I place it's location on stage?

Previously for static image banners I have implemented on_click code behind or javascript to log the banner has been clicked back to a database and process the re-direction. I don't have much knowledge of flash other than I know that a flash program can handle on-click events of the program. Therefore, can somebody suggest the best solution for capturing and processing on-click events of a flash object on a webpage.

My requirement is that, when a user Logs in, his name should be displayed in the Top of the site (in the Flash banner here) like "Welcome User". Is it possible ? In order to get listed on an advertising website with a higher rating, I have to place a reciprocal link to them on my site. However, I cannot figure out how to place an html link/banner on my site for other businesses. If I paste the html code in a text box, all that shows up is the html code rather than the image and link it is meant to generate.

When I export it in flash it works, and when I preview in the dreamweaver browser it still works. I do not know what I have done wrong. Is the coding in the server wrong for the flash?

I'm making a piece of flash used for a website banner, previously i've had very little experience with action scipt as i've made various animations only having to use simple functions such as "stop()" and i've made a never ending scrolling menu also, but now i want to have an event that "onPress" a small animation is played where the mouse clicked the banner. What would be the appropriate script to link the .swf i make to the "onPress" command? or what is the right command in general assuming it is that command

But the part that has to grow, does this in shocks. Does enyone now a way to prevend or mask this, so the client can be happy?

View 5 RepliesI was wondering if there was anyway to pause as2 at a specific part of the code. For instance I want to pause for 2 seconds before I enable a button. Most of my code is all held on one frame of the main timeline so pausing the timeline using setInterval is not an option.
So i guess what I am really trying to do is pause a function. Is that possible?
I'm making a bannerslider that's going every 7 seconds to the next Movieclip/Image. But I made a play and pause button in it so that the timer would pause. But my problem is that the Timer doesn't pause.

I am new to CS5 and i'm wondering how to make a flash banner play only once for the visitor. My home page has a search engine and every time the search the result will display with the banner playing again. this is the same for navigating through pages. I want the banner to stay on the last frame. its not looping, its just replaying everytime i navigate.

View 1 RepliesI have seen umpteen different guides on how to make a play/pause button in flash. and i cannot get it to work. I think i may pull my hair out soon.basically- i have made an mc which sits on the main timeline. i t has 2 frames, ecah of which has a stop() action in the frame. the first has a pause button with the following script attached to to the button:

i have also tried putting in nextFrame instead of gotoAndStop() -but this is besides the point as it's not even stopping!in the second frame there is a play button with the following scruipt attached to it:

I think the problem may be deeper rooted because i have looked on sevral guides and they all tell me to do a similar thing.
In fact i made a button which sat on the timeline with this script

I've been working on my first full blown flash site for a few weeks, tackling problems as I encounter them, and I've learned a lot...but sometimes the simplest things I cannot figure out for the life of me. All I am trying to do is have some flash banner SWF files play within the portfolio page of my site. I don't want them to open in a pop up or anything just play within the page when the link on my site is clicked. I figured it would act like a movie clip and I could just drop it onto the stage, but when I do that it doesn't look right, loops continuously, and is not interactive. How can I make this work?
