Is it possible to smoothly change the color of the line in this sprite over a period of time?Code: Select allvar sp:Sprite = newSprite();addChild(sp);sp.graphics.lineStyle(3, 0x31FF1A);I saw a bit of code that used Tweener to do this with a movie clip, but I can't make Tweener work with a sprite.
And It seems to work but this is creating a new rect. Which I do not want.
And I have tried ColorTransform, and that changes everything, even the border, which is not what I wanted. And I am not able to colortransform and then set the border color.
So how can I change the color of a sprite without changing the border color?
Thing is, after applying a new color theme for my Flash Builder enviroment, the only thing I couldnt find was an option to change the color when you enter in debug mode. When you have a brakpoint there, the color of that line change to light green, and I got dark background and white characters.. so, I dont see anything, I have to manually highlight the line.. really annoying.
I'm trying to work out how to create a simple demo that works as follows: A ball falls from the top of the stage.Player is able to draw a line anywhere on the stage. The ball will bounce/roll along the line such that the player can guide it at will. I don't think the coordinate rotation will be a problem for me but I can't figure out how to transform a line drawn by the player into a hit detectable sprite -- or realkly any way that I can get those line coordinates into my coordinate rotation routine. To keep it simple, I'm just working on the first part of the problem, getting the line to where I can hit test or know its position.Here is my code so far:
I am in the making of a isometric level editor, and I have about 15 movie clips with more to come. I want to let people change the color of tiles to what they want from a list of colors, so how can I let them change the color of a tile dinamicly with actionscript so that it changes a tile's color while preserving changes of "shadows"? I mean I have let's say a cube and to make it look 3D I need to change each face to make a feeling of 3D and not a flat one.
i have been doing this tutorial http:..but i am stuck on PART 8, i have done everything the tutorial has said so far (although my image and the colors used are different) but the large blank box at the top of the color pallet isnt changing color when i click on any color from the pallet.
Also this tutorial doesnt say what version of flash and actionscript is best suited for this.Currently i am using CS4 & Action Script 2.0 but i don't know if this is correct. below there is a link to the fla. file that Coloring_Book.fla.
I have a few movie clips that change color when they are rolled over and rolled out of which is great and works correctly but now I have add glows to those buttons to serve as borders or a stroke and when you roll over the buttons the color and the filter color changes.
So i'm working on this website and I want to be able to switch out the entire color scheme on the website everytime a button is pressed, I've stepped away from flash for awhile and actionscript 3 is new me. Plus I haven't quite found any truely useful stuff on forums yet.
What i can't figure out is when a button is pressed the HTML background color changes to one of 5 preselected colors (that alternate ever time the button is pressed). Then for each background change the text changes too as it is part of a entire new color scheme.
What I've managed so far is to change the color of the background thats within the Flash file. What i did was to make a movie clip that plays to a next frame and stop everytime the button is pressed. Now i just need to also get to change the HTML color and the font colors.
//"homeText" being the name of dynamic text field and "Button" the name of the button and "background" being the movie clip that is the background within the flash file.
Button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, Button_CLICK); function Button_CLICK(e:MouseEvent):void{ background.play(); homeText.TextFormat(color "0x000000");}
I'm not sure if my code is just sloppy or if i'm completely going the wrong route here.
I have a button with an icon. I want to have the button in gray so I change the chromeColor but when I do that, the icon became darker.On the left the button without changing the color, on the right, the gray button with and darker icon.How can I have a gray button without changing the icon color?
I am building a line drawing movie where I would like the user to be able to change colors using the AdvColorPicker I downloaded from Sephiroth.it.I don't know how to write the code that will change the line color upon picking one from the AdvColorPickerHere is the actionsript for the line drawing:
ActionScript Code: colors.onMouseDown = function() { if (1) {
I'm confused that values of mouseX&Y properties for a same sprite are changing as its scaling (when you make scaleX out of 1.0). I would like to know the precise mechanism (or detailed definition) of MouseX, MouseY property.
I would like to be able to make changes to a colour gradient of a sprite from my library, as opposed to one drawn dynamically. So the code I thought would look something like this:
Code: var radType:String = GradientType.RADIAL; var radMatrix:Matrix = new Matrix(); radMatrix.createGradientBox(120,120); var radColours:Array = [0x3174d0, 0x15396f]; var radAlphas:Array = [1, 1]; var radRatios:Array = [0, 255]; var myLibrarySprite:spriteInLibrary = new spriteInLibrary(); myLibrarySprite.graphics.beginGradientFill(radType, radColours, radAlphas, radRatios,radMatrix); addChild(myLibrarySprite);
I've been using essentially this code (plus a bit for say drawing a square) happily to gradient fill sprites that are dynamically drawn. I don't get any errors from this. I have tried adding myLibrarySprite.graphics.clear() but that does not make a difference.
I want to the user to be able to draw a line and then have a sprite follow the line as its path. Also, it would be nice if the line could be cleaned up after the user draws it with his/her mouse so that it is made up of clean curves/spline.
I've done color transforms elsewhere but I can find an example, and I'm pretty sure they are very straight forward... yet. I keep getting this error:1119: Access of possibly undefined property ColorTransform through a reference with static type flash.geom:Transform.
_buttonUnderline = new Sprite(); with(_buttonUnderline.graphics) {
.....
When the Tween takes place though it not only changes the width, it changes the height as if it were scaling it up in both directions. Why does this behavior take place? And how can I get it so that only the width changes? I have also tried using scaleX as the property but it does the same thing.
I am trying to create a loop that changes the colours of my dynamic vectors inside my sprite however I am not sure if I putt the following var names in the right place in the end of my statement attached or if i need another variable :
I have a PNG that is a child of sprite object. The PNG consists of a shape in the middle of a transparent background (the alpha value is zero). I want to change the color of the sprite, but I do not want to change the transparent background.
var arrowHeadRight:Sprite = new Sprite(); with(arrowHeadRight.graphics){ beginFill(0xDDDDDD, 1); moveTo(50,0); lineTo(0,50);

On Mouse Over, I wish to change the color of the fill on this shape? Can this be done or do I have to re-draw the graphics with an updated beginFill line?
my current idea is that I'll have a sprite as a swf. This sprite has 2 dynamic colors (if you don't know what that is, imagine a sprite that has a color depending on which team he is in, something like that). So I'll have 3 clips on 3 layers.
- non colour - colour 1 - colour 2
thing is, I don't want it to be solid colours. (and i'm not the artist.) Am I heading in the right direction?
Detail: I am reading some data from SVG and getting them as Sprite objects; now I need to change the fill color of these sprite objects dynamically without affection the outline color. I gave it a try with ColorTransform but that changes everything in the object.
PS: I already tried searching the forum for the same thing but search seems to have some technical issues... therefore had to
We're trying to find the most optimal memory solution to doing Player Color in a flash game for sprite animation. We're using CS3 Action Script 3.0. Basically we're using sprite animation but currently for every player we create a duplicate set of animations with just different color. This is very expensive. Vector graphics tend to slow down performance too much for our games so we need to use bitmaps and would like to stick to that. So for a bitmap the alpha channel really only needs 2 values 0 for transparent 1 for draw the pixel. Is there any way I can use the other 254 values for a player color algorithm. The best we've come up with is to do 1 set of animations & 1 set of color mask animtions. So in total we would have 2 full set of animations for 2-x players. The Color mask seems to need to be 32 bits. So what I have is 2 questions.
1) Is there a way we can make 1 set of bitmap animations but use the 254 other values in the alpha channed to do player color?2) Is ther a way to use a Mask set of animations but only use 8 bit not 32 bit?
I am a new user. How do I can add more thickness and change color of a rectange Sprite object on mouse over and on mouse out I want to make it normal again.
I want to be able to change lines thickness/color for sprites/movieclips created in Flash CS in ActionScript code. Is it possible to achieve this kind of functionality?
