I just need my path sorting.All I need is the action scripting code to call an html document, that is in a folder within the root. I am calling from a swf embeded in html in the root. I can get a new widdow open but it doesnt find the html file.
Im using

It works in html below,

AS3 :: Html Calling Function From Javascript
May 14, 2011So my team's project has an swf embedded in JavaScript, we're actually using java servlet's to create the html/JavaScript. I am attempting to use as3's ExternalInterface to add a callback which would get called in the javascript but everything I have tried will not work.[code]so if there is a missing tag or something that's probably not my problem. NOTE I embed this correctly and get into the swf allowing it to call javascript functions(as3 calls the getStuff fn), using the ExternalInterface, which works but JS->as3 does NOT work ='I cant use the movie object for anything (the return value of getFlashMovie), if I try to use no code after works.The action script code calls the external interface addCallback function correctly(called in a try catch that's how I know)[code]The only things I can think of;
1) The embed code isnt creating the object correctly, since I cant use the movie for anything
2) my swf is being created weird and doesnt allow script access.We are using FlashBuilder to build the swf.

Feb 5, 2009I have a problem trying to call a page without it opening up a new tab. Was wondering what is the equivalent of the following command (I was told that this is AS2.0 command).

Flash :: Calling A Function On An HTML Page?
Feb 22, 2010how to call a flash function from an HTML page. The idea is to have a link on my page (HTML link) that once clicked displays a movieclip in flash. I know i have to use the asfunction in HTML. So far I have just created my swf file with a function called showInfo. I've embedded the flash into an HTML page. I have then added a link on the HTML page as follows:
<a href="asfunction:showInfo">Link name</a> but when I click it says: "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (asfunction) isn't associated with any program."
is there a piece of code I need to write in flash for this to work?

Oct 28, 2010I have a sprite menu which populates a dynamic textfield with textlabels as users click individual items in the menu in addition to ordinary actions(gotoAndStop). As these labels appear in the textfield, I want to be able to link them to the frames assosciated with the menu - item frames. As you can understand from this, I am working with the timeline. By enabling html rendering of text in the textfield, I have been able to link these output labels via a a href - tag, but I am not able to call a function from this html. The function I am trying to call uses a switch statement to take the appropriate actions according to which label is being clicked, but the only effect I get is the html opening a browser window...... Unfortunately I do not know how to explain this any better, but here is my code for the following:

Jan 22, 2009I have created a flash movie with buttons. I intended for the user to press these button and open another flash movie or another html. I tried using URLRequest as such below but I got some errors when I run the flash and press the button:

TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert "series.html" to flash.net.URLRequest.

Is this method wrong? How shall I call another html or refreshed a current flash movie embedded within a html with another new flash movie. Is this possible?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Scrollbar For Dynamic Text Box Calling HTML Txt File?
Sep 21, 2009I have a flash movie within it quite a few scenes. When I go to a certain scene it has a movie clip on it (UGFT_MC). Within this I have a dynamic text box (UGFTtxt). I have the render text as HTML selected and the variable called "data". On my main timeline at the start of this scene I have the actionscript: loadVariables("UGFT.txt","_root.UGFT_MC");
Within my text file I have the following:
data=<B>All the code I want in my text box</B>
<p><img src="test.jpg"</p> etc.
This part all works, except I have lots of text and images in the text file and need a scroll bar on my dynamic text box. I have tried the UIScrollBar and it only works some of the time, and there is no pattern as to whether the scroll bar will appear. Quite often it is just a grey area. Though the top of the text called from the file is visible.

when i test, the flash loaded. The code goes through everything and show "SENT" in the flash text box. However, it doesn't seem like it is calling the javascript and change the text in the HTML page.is there something wrong I did? i try the ExternalInteface.call method but doesn't work neither. ALSO, when i run it in FireFox, not error popup.however, when i run it in IE, I got this:

Php :: SimpleXML, CDATA And HTML Entities - Tags Are Interpreted With Their HTML Entity Equivalents?
Nov 18, 2010trying to work with "simple" XML for the first time. I'm building a small CMS for a Flash based site and the content is held in an XML file. My problem is that many of the copy fields are XML CDATA fields. on the one hand, with:
$xml = simplexml_load_file($file, 'SimpleXMLElement', LIBXML_NOCDATA);
I can pull the data out of that node and the CDATA tags are stripped. My issues come with trying to save the data with:
file_put_contents($file, $xml->asXML());
Problems are: a) tags are interpreted with their HTML entity equivalents. I don't want this to happen.I gather this is coming from the asXML method because even if I do anhtml_entity _decode on the $_POST data it's still being converted.
b) because of the above, there's no way to add the CDATA tags because they also have their charachters converted.

Sep 11, 2010I need to allow users to preview audio files for purchasing. I have CF pages that return records form a SQL database. Each record contains the same swf file however, each swf file points to a different mp3 for previews of different audio examples. So far, everything is working fine. My problem is that I need to be able to stop the sound from one swf when I click to play a second swf .The only solutions I see in Flash forums deal with loaded swf files. These are not loaded files they are separate files within a page. Mar 5, 2010I was wondering if it is possible to create a flash movie that rotates values that are stored in HTML. For example if i have these 3 containers:

I want to have some flash movie rotate these values every 10 seconds. I don't want to program it hard into flash, it has to be variable. It has to display the first set, then after 10 sec the second, and so on.Maybe if it is possible something that stops the toggle, and skip to just the second, or just the third.I also don't want to use javascript to do this (jQuery etc.), because this conflicts with another timer on the website.Is there a way of doing this?

Dec 5, 2010I have a swf that I have created that make a few HTML posts. When I run and compile the swf locally, it successfully makes posts to my php code hosted on my domain. However when I then upload my swf to my domain, and then alter the embed tag to have a fully qualified path to my hosted swf, the swf will load correctly but it will make any HTML posts to my PHP scripts. The reason that I have an an embed tag with the fully qualified url in it, is that my goal here is to be able to place the html embed code on a number of different sites.
I have it working on a single remote site, and it has a wild card crossdomain.xml file in it. However when I try to apply a crossdomain.xml to any of the hosted sites, or to my computer locally nothing runs when the I use the embed with the fully qualified URL, if I just the locally hosted swf on my computer the HTML post work just fine. I feel this is related to the crossdomain.xml file, however I guess I'm not understanding some aspect of the security model.

Jul 1, 2011I have a scenario that I get an string with html data, this is not just html data it's an email (outlook) saved as an html file and dropped in the string.Now this string needs to be formatted to an html document and should be a clickable link in a datagrid. Feb 25, 2010when you go to the home.html page an animation will play from start and then stop at the end of it. However, for all other pages i.e contact.html aboutus.html we need the animation to skip to the end straight away and not to play the whole animation through. I was thinking this would be controlled by a variable or some kind of external text file ect. Basically in the first frame the actionscript needs to basically say
"if this html page is aboutus.html then go to the last frame and stop" and with the index page it would say "if this html page is index.html then keep playing"
