Flash - Insert Without JavaScript In The Most Compatible But Valid Way?

Apr 28, 2010

I'm looking for a way to embed Flash into a XHTML Transitional page that does not rely on enabled JavaScript, which validates and that works across all major Browsers including IE6. So far I'm using this solution which seems to work just fine:[URL]...However, when this method is used in an RSS Feed it seems that Feedburner and Google Reader at least (maybe other feed readers, too) strip the whole object tags and only leave the alternative content.

Javascript :: Looking For Wii Compatible Javascript Flash Mp3 Player?

Oct 24, 2009

I am looking for a flash mp3 player that will work within the Opera-based browser on the Wii. The player needs to be javascript enabled (support methods like play, stop etc.) The mp3 tracklist will be built dynamically using ajax on the same page as the player so it must trigger an event when a track finishes playing (or at least provide functionality of some kind to indicate that it's time to start the next track). Does anyone know of such a player?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Flex - Valid JavaScript Code That Is NOT Valid Code?

Mar 12, 2010

Most JavaScript code is also syntactically valid ActionScript 3.0 code. However, there are some exceptions which leads me to my question:

Which constructs/features in JavaScript are syntactically invalid in ActionScript 3.0? Please provide concrete examples of JavaScript code (basic JavaScript code without DOM API usage) that is NOT valid ActionScript 3.0 code.

Javascript :: Insert Javascript Functions To An HTML Document From The Child Flash Swf File?

Jan 29, 2012

I need to execute some javascript string code from flash swf file using actionscript 3.
I read that it could be done by passing the javascript code to the parent html document , using externalinterface.call function. Then I assume it will be faster if I can declare functions in the javascript code in the HTML document in the first use of externalinterface.call funtion ; if flash code calls the javascript code repeatedly. So let me ask you how to do that. For details , any javascript to be loaded is unknown in design time and I can not prepare a javascript file to be loaded.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Flash 9 Not Backwards-compatible?

Apr 2, 2007

I mistitled the thread because I thought the problem was with the version of flash player, but when I ran my swf locally everything worked fine, so I now know that it's a problem created by making the swf remote. Perhaps an admin could change it to "bitmapdata.draw() doesn't work remotely" if they read this.[URL] My swf works fine when I run it locally, but not when I run it from my server!? When images from flickr are loaded into my swf on [URL], flash doesn't want to bitmapdata.draw(mc) the mc with the image (for the reflection), but this problem is non-existent locally. Everything is identical, same SWF, same browser.

If so, how do you make a hyperlink in AS2? Can this still work with Flash Player 9 (or the most recent version). Or is none of this correct? I really don't know

What makes a camera compatible with flash? I have a camera I purchased from IDS Imaging and it shows up in my camera list in as3 with print out the array made from Camera.names. Flash :: Make A Swf Compatible With All Screen Resolutions?

Jun 28, 2010

I'd like to have the swf get as big as possible for each user without requiring scrolling. Of course it would stick to a certain ratio, currently I'm using 2:1 but that could be changed (maybe I should use 16:9 since it is the standard widescreen ratio).

I am only using Actionscript 3 for code and MXMLC for compiling.

Flash :: Video Fallback AND Valid Html5?

Apr 21, 2011

I'm trying to have a flash video, with fallback to the html5 video element for those browsers which don't support flash, such as iPhone. I'd also like to have valid html5. The issue I see is that in html5, object doesn't support the classid attribute anymore, but this would be required for a user to get flash if they don't have it but want it.

It seems my options are to accept invalid html5 but not have the flash work properly, or have the classid and not have valid html5.

Valid Strategy For Secure Image Upload From Flash Client?

Apr 27, 2010

I'm creating a flash application that will post images to a url for saving to disk/display later. I was wondering what are some suggested strategies for making this secure enough so that the upload is verified as coming from the application and not just some random form post. Is it reliable enough to check referring location realizing that I don't need bulletproof security, or perhaps setting authentication headers is a better strategy even though it seems unreliable from what I have read. The application and the server script will reside on the same domain and is in java - is there a way to check for a 'session' or something like that?

Another thought I had was some sort of simple hashed key type system, I could hard-code a key into the flash application and pass something to the server based on that - the server would also know this key and be able to verify if the value passed was based on that? The app is a public app, so authenticating users is not an option. After more research I am thinking about using a hard coded salt key on both ends, then sending an MD5 hash of the base64 encoded image bytearray+salt to be matched on the server side.
