IDE :: Gradual Opacity Change Of MC When Button Clicked?
Aug 13, 2009
I'm trying to "fade" out a movie clip when I click on another movie clip. I know how to change the visibility to false or alpha to 0, but I want it to do this gradually rather then instantly.This is the code I currently have placed on the movieclip I'm using as a button, I am only trying to fade the SolidPurple, everything else is working exactly like I want it to...
I'm trying to get it so whenever the object is clicked it reduces in opacity by 10% each time, and if it gets to 10% and it's clicked again it stays at 10% instead of going to 0. I got it to keep going down in opacity fine I just don't know the code to keep it from going lower. this is what I have so far
function fadeOut(e:MouseEvent):void { instrument.alpha -= .1; } if (instrument.alpha<.1) { instrument.alpha = .1 } else { instrument.alpha -= .1; }
I'm trying to get it so whenever the object is clicked it reduces in opacity by 10% each time, and if it gets to 10% and it's clicked again it stays at 10% instead of going to 0 I got it to keep going down in opacity fine I just don't know the code to keep it from going lower. this is what I have so far
can change the color of the button when clicked, however I want to make sure when you click on a different button, it changes the previous button back to its original color.I know i can do this the ghetto way and list out all the buttons i want with no color each time but if later i have 50 buttons i dont want to list them. So i built a loop but the loop is not working rightThis code is an example of what might be on the first button:
Just taking Koolmoves for a test drive and ran into a snag, I want to change the opacity of some shapes/objects that Ive created but I cant seem to find an option to adjust the opacity anywhere.
I posted a question like this yesterday but I was not clear in the description....i have an app i'm making in flex and I'd like to have a button's text change to a random entry within an xml when the button is clicked....the xml is in the assets folder and is titled games.xml. I would like to have a random game name be selected from the XML when the button is pressed.[code]...
I have a plan of a park and want to make some different zone (red, green, blue, etc.) I know how to make them but dont know how to put them to 50% of opacity.
I'm looking at creating some template designs for presentations and stuff like that. The only problem I have is not being able to get the consumers tastes down to a tee. The thing that is letting me down at the moment is that im not sure how to dynamically chage the colour of a graphic once a certain button has been clicked. e.g "say if i have index as my default page and the colour scheme is different tones of red how would i be able to change this to blue or green once another button has been clicked."
It would be much better to have this layed out as 'AS' rather than having many different (goto frame label and stufflike that. Im trying to phase myself out of tweens and focus more on the AS side of the whole game.
I am new to AS and stucked in a situation. I have a keyboard in which all grayed keys are single image but another layer have all active keys as separate movie clips. What I need to do is get external variables and make the opacity of relevant keys to 100% rest buttons should have opacity 0
like i receive variables key1= F10, key2= R key 3= pgdwn on flash file only these 3 movie clips will have opacity 100 rest all should have opacity 0. external variables can have any number of variable keys ( like 1 key to full keyboard).
I have created a button with an instance name of 'ClickMe' and also five buttons each with thier own instance name (B1-B5). I want to change their opacity to zero onclick preferably as a tween from where they are now in opacity (100%) to the zero. I need some assistance with this. I know it involves importing classes and creating a function. I also believe I can control the set of 5 buttons with iteration.
I have 4 navigation button and like home, about us etc.... And i want to disable home when it is click and cannot clicked it until the user click another button first. means if a visitor is at home page then home navigation is disabled, and all other are active, and when they click at aboutus button then the pages goes to the about us page and the about us button is disabled and other get active. I want this solution in AS3 with oop concept.
I've got about 6 buttons laid out, one on top of the other in a list format. In their normal state the buttons are grey in colour, when I rollover them, the buttons flash and turn to orange. Now, what I need to happen is this: I want the buttons to stay orange once clicked and only roll out back to grey when the user has clicked on another button in the list. I've been told that the best way to do this is via adding a listener, however I am a little unsure as to how to go about this. I've checked the flash help file and have a basic understanding of how listeners work...but can't really wrap my head around applying it to this situation. Perhaps I will need to have all the buttons as separate broadcasters?
I'm making a website in flash, inspired from this site : [URL]. I've done mouseover so that when you go over a circle you can see full text in the middle, but I don't know how to make the other "buttons"/circles fade white when I have my mouse over one of the circles. Please take a look at the webpage, it's kind of difficult to explain. [URL]. I'm using CS 5.5 and Actionscript 3
I have a menu with five nav buttons (atcually MovieClips). Each has three frame labels: "on", "stay", and "off". The rollover and rollout animations play flawlessly, but I'm at a loss as to how to give each button a sticky "active" state. I'd like the button to stay in it's active state until another button is clicked, then I would like it to play it's "off" animation. Each MC has this code:
I have seen a couple of flash movies of late that have a nifty element to them, when the user resizes his window the movie slides to the centre or relative position, rather than snapping.THIS SITE is one example of the effect I mean When you resize your window the text moves gradually to a relative position.How is this done? is it via action scripting or through the html/java?It is a nice little touch, I like it. Do you think if you can dictate the position of certain elements you can dictate the size of elements according to window size?
im trying to actionscript a simple animation where a combination of MC's move towards areas on the screen triggred by mouse events.What would be the best way of gradually ofsetting a MC, with the control to stop them with further mouse events.I have used tweens (example below) but i need to be able to stop them mid tween, i have tried using if statement to stop the clip but i cant seem to overide the tween.I have limited experience but im guessing a time based loop that i could supply an if statement withbooleons would be my answer. Are time loops possible with actionscript 3.(my thinking is(mouse event. start time based loop -offseting MC- Mouse Event 2 stops loop with if. )
tween example i used (function moveToLeft(event:MouseEvent):void { xMovement = new Tween(walkMC, "x", None.easeOut, walkMC.x, mouseX, 8, true); )
ive found the timer class, i should be able to make summit work with this
I have a movieclip called "clip1" and I was wondering if anyone could recommend some code for getting this to gradually blur to a strength of 10 when a button is pressed. Also, instead of button pressed, maybe an onclip event.
I'm making an animation with sky, clouds, scenery etc. during the daytime, and I need it to turn to night on rollover of a particular button. I'm such a flash virgin though, I don't know how to do this.
I'm guessing there's a way of changing the colours/tints of the objects so I can keep the same place in the animation, but I'd also like to make changes happen in the animation like leaves falling, lightning, bats... is there a way of doing this in a new scene but keeping the clouds from the first scene so they don't jump to a different point in the animation?
Just wondering where there is a good tutorial on a script for a scroll bar that has a gradual elastic property. An example would be the American Airlines site. Notice the scrollbar on the right.P.S. I already did a bunch of searches on the forum and I skimmed through the tutorials here already with no luck, so I did put some effort into it .
how to write a actionscript code for a button when the button is clicked it should move to the nextframe.
// About and smile1 button scripts stop(); _root.smile1.onPress = function() { if (mouse_over_smile1) {
[code]....
i have given 3 functions as onEnterFrame,onPress,onRelease. i tried all these but didnt get the result.smile1,smile2,smile3 are button instances which are declared on the monie clip.my main thing is i hav a button, when i click on that button it should go the next frame which i have declared in "gotoAndPlay(6)" method.
Anyway what I need to do is have a movie clip finish playing when a button is clicked and then go to the frame label associated with the button. I hope I'm explaining myself ok. So if I had say 4 buttons Home Gallery About Contact If Contact is clicked then I want the Home page to play (Which is a fade out) and then go to Contact Page (which will fade in). Then If Gallery is clicked then I want Contact to fade out and then go to Gallery page and fade in.
I'm trying to figure out how to disable a button after it is click and then enable it once another button is clicked. I'm stuck on how to enable the button.
on (rollOver) { this.gotoAndPlay("s1"); _root.slideshow.gotoAndPlay("s4");
I want to make a button (or graphic) active and visible if another button is clicked. But it must be invisible and unclickable before the other button is clicked. (this is a "find the differences between the 2 pictures game" and I want circles to appear over the differences that the user finds but only after he clicks it)
The button (or graphic) I want to become active has instance name of "sockcircle_btn" The button you click to make it appear is called "sock_btn"
In the first frame of the sockcircle_btn layer, this is my code
sockcircle_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,sockcircledisable); function sockcircledisable(evt:MouseEvent):void{ sockcircle_btn.mouseEnabled = false; }
In the sock_btn frame (frame 3) this is my code
sock_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,sockcircleenable); function sockcircleenable(evt:MouseEvent):void{ sockcircle_btn.mouseEnabled = true; }
The file is setup to loop between frames 2-3. But the sockcircle_btn never enables even when sock_btn is clicked.
