IDE :: Preloader For A 'off-beat' Project?

I need to make a preloader for a test project that is very diffirent and a little bit off-beat as it uses script that I have prostetuted from a variety of diffirent files, see (http:[url].....swf might take a while to load as it has no preloader and please note how it does load...), it scrolls the actual content of the site along the x axis in multiple speeds by using the following script 4 times for each layer/speed of content:

The actual files they are pulling are massive in file size and there fore I need to make a preloader that can cach all the content and then start to display the actual 'content/sliders' I dont even have an idea what kind of loader to use for something like this as I have already tried adding a little loading function (what the "clip1" "clip2" etc...) either I am making this to big of an issue and there is a realy simple way of doing this or there is none that will do what I require? does anyone know of a way for me to pre load everything with one preloader simotaniously? No doubt its been asked repeatedly ... how to make animation move to the beat of a sound track.I've been googling for a while here and getting piles of hits but many are not really on topic, then figuring out tighter search strings is a bit hard too since sound and animation has so many possible topics. Looks like it might literally take days to zero in on something.
Can anyone here direct me to information that tells how to make an animation move to the beat of a sound track using Flash? Its fairly easy in Afer Effects so I assumed it would be something I could do in Flash Pro too. But not really getting how it might be done.
I have created a simple animation with two kids moving along with a mule pulling a plow.. all are just still pics but I have a 3wk old Grand daughter on the mule and 1 yr old Great grand son guiding the plow. All figures are bouncing along on with primitive walk step, on 8fr keyframes. Very primitive, but since the kids are my grand and great grand kids it looks pretty cool to my family.
I'm using some nice old hillbilly music of Bill Monroe's (Fiddle, banjo etc) semi-bluegrass sound. But the beat of the music is enough different than the motion of the animation, its a bit distracting.
I thought to just change the spacing of the keyframes by trial and error until its at least close.
But guessing there is a more exact and easier way. In Affter effects its fairly easy to do by ear by tapping out the beat by hand, making markers as you go just by tapping the key in time to the music. It works surprisingly well even for a beat challenged oldster. But enough about After effects... I'm trying to learn Flash. So any advice or a URL?

I have made a flash site using CS3.I bought a preloader online but cant get it to work (not getting any responce from the site where I bought it). It should be straight forward. Copying the loader movieclip to the first frame in my timeline and so on. Gon through the instructions several times and is pretty sure I´m not missing anything.Anyway, when publishong I get the following error message:[code]Warning: 1058: Migration issue: The property _root is no longer supported.This property has been removed. The closest equivalent is the Stage, which serves as the root of the ActionScript 3.0 display list..I do believe the actionscript used in the preloader is v.2 and the project is made in AS3.

i have an index.fla page and will be about 10 .swf files to load into it, they will be large videos witch need pre loading. I have read lots of threads all over the place and have tryed lots of ways.The simplest way i have found so far works but gives me the error :
TypeError: Error #1006: value is not a function.
at MethodInfo-8()
after i have loaded the 1st vid intro witch then using a dispatchEvent(new Event("allDone", true));realays the info to the index file and loads the movie but the percent timer stops working and gives the error above. I have the following code

I have two different .wav loops. One is just the tune, and one is the beat. And when they play together right on each other in sync, it sounds great.I have a button on the stage. I want it so that the tune is playing by itself at first, but when hovering over the button, the beat comes in. And when hovering off the button, the beat disappears. The problem is, I don't know how to keep them in sync. The beat and tune get all off when I make it so that on hover it plays the beat.

Intended idea: User is able to set a beat speed for a music making program.
I'm trying to use for (var i:Number = 0; i < (variable); i++) {"addChild" to duplicate movie clips to visibly show where the beat is and then move the movie clips at a constant rate to the left to get it out of the way and then eventually remove the child.
Problem: The movie clip isn't moving. Once it's spawned and in it's position as defined by the function, no outside function can control it.

I cant "center" my project, like you can see its "fixed" (yellow lines) in the left side and I cant see "invisible" part of project... (area around the project). how can I move my project so I can see the not-project area around the project. (picture 2).

I'm trying to make a preloader for a little flash project that involves re-assembling a load of rectangles to make up a pattern.Idea is that instead of the usual load bar i wanted to make use of this pattern that is relevant to the project and have it rebuild it self with these rectangles flying in from the side. So far I have got the tweening sorted using the tween class and staggered the 42 (yes took a little while, probably an easier way so let me know on that also) rectangles using 'setTimeout' so it releases each 100milliseconds after the one one before it. This probably the wrong way to do it but i wanted to check how it looked and this was the one way i knew how to do it.
I want to make it so that these rectangles fly in a complete the pattern once the loading has finished, but on a fast connection I don't want it to rush the animation but for a slow connection I obviously want it to adjust the release time and maybe even the travel speed to compensate.
I had an idea of maybe working out the percentage loaded divided by 42 and then run an if statement to see if that percentage for that segment had been reached before 100millseconds had passed, if 100 had passed then release the rectangle, if not then hold the rectangle until 100 m/s had passed. Not sure if that is the best way to do but that's why I'm looking for some suggestions from more experienced developers.

im currently making an "AS3 beat em up" ala streets of rage or double dragon.Currently i have my character moving and a few animations done and i am trying to figure out how to make attacks work.I have some "basic" animation for his attack, but im not sure how to get it to work correctley.What happens is, if you press control (the attack button) whilst the character is walking he just keeps moving and is stopped on the attack frame.I want the character to stop moving if the attack is pressed and once it is released start moving again.

I am working on this one project that has a couple of movieclips (already placed on stage) which have a custom class set to export via the Library. Each of those custom classes loads an external SWF using URLRequest().
Is it possible (or, what is the best way) to preload the whole project first, including the external SWFs?

Parent pom has swc, swf, war as modules.
Dependency is war->swf->swc.
With parent artifactId of swf, swc, war set to swf, swc, test respectively.On executing mvn on test folder(for that matter clean or anything) I get this following error.

Looks like its trying to download the project from maven's central repository instead of building it.

I've recently started making a game in FlexBuilder. The game is currently a Flex project. Is there any downside to using Flex as opposed to just Actionscript? I have one Eclipse Workspace containing two projects. - The first is my actual library. - The second is example code for using the library.When I push this code to GitHub, I don't want two separate projects, I want the example code to go into an "example" folder of the second library.How and where would I do this? I just started working on a preloader screen that includes a preloader mask over a logo and a percentage dynamic text. I can get either or to work but not both at the same time. I notice that if I remove stop(); I can get the percentage to work but not the preloader image. With the stop(); embedded the image preloader works but the percentage doesn't.

i tried the tutorial that teaches you how to create a preloader....i followed the instructions and it still doesnt work! what's wrg?[code]on my first frame actions....i put the "gotoAndPlay (36)" cause i tried a previous preloader that took more than 1 frame and didnt want to change my button's "goTo" frames...but i figured it wont change anything..anyways, i put that line of code as my first frame action....by double clicking the timeline..then i create a symbol for that frame 1 and created an animation.
