I have this code that makes a menu with two buttons appear following the mouse when the mouse rolls over a movieClip:
Code:
var imgOptions:menuMC = new menuMC();
//Makes the image options follow the mouse
function showImgOptions (e:Event):void
{
[code]..
The problem is that the buttons are children of imgOptions, and when the mouse is over these two buttons, the movie reacts like the mouse is not over the imgOptions movieclip.
I'm loading and progressively streaming an F4V Video using pure actionscript code (No playback component used) and after the video begins streaming I place a MUTE button on the stage that when clicked executes the SoundMixer.stopAll(); instruction.
When the movie completes playing I use the following code to monitor the NetStream state changes and place a NEXT button on the stage when the video finishes.
When the video completes there is a NetStream event.info.code issued - "NetStream.Play.Stop"
I am using Flash CS3 targeting flashplayer 9. I have created a menu that has 5 simple buttons in it. I use a actionscript tween to move the menu from off the stage into view and back again. For some reason when the menu comes on the stage the hittable area of the buttons seems to be getting affected. I am dropping the menu onto the stage so I am only tweening the y property like so
var menuTween:Tween;
menuTween = new Tween(toc_mc, "y", toc_mc.y, 78, 1, true);
When the menu comes into view it is like the hittable area of the button gets squashed vertically down.Even though the text still appears perfectly fine and the background of the button looks right the cursor will only click on a small sliver at the very bottom of each button. Has anyone else seen this?
[URL] if i have 50 buttons and i click or rollover one of them, i want the rest of the 49 to fade in color, and the one i am rolling over of clicking to say as it is. I imagine for sure there will be use of arrays, but i am not sure if there is a certain class in AS3 or design pattern that i should know about to get this to work in the most OOP way possible.
i have a problem with the setInterval and clear Interval function with in a movieclip i created. the interval seems to still be running even though it is with in a movieclip and not on the main time line. how do i stop it from affecting the buttons on the main time line. i tried applying the clearInterval function to the button on the main time line but still no change.
I'm looking for a way to have my main timeline code interact with code inside of a symbol.I'm tying to get my timeline inside the symbol to gotoAndPlay(10) when something happens in my main timeline code.
If i add a preloader code inside the same fla which i have to load. then it takes some time to load its library content first and then it starts loading the other things in Flash.But normal preloader code will not show loading of its library content. So any body have any idea how to make that without loading via other file. i have to add loader on the same file.
I decided to rearange my flash site and now things don't work.I used to have an image collage where all the images were buttons and each image was located on the stage ( which made a stage with 10+ loose images)I made each image a button. Below is a code example for one of the images named "icysophistication_app_btn". The previously working code for it was:
icysophistication_app_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick_IcySophisticationPopUp); function onClick_IcySophisticationPopUp(event:MouseEvent) :void {
Are there any other swf to HTML converters, I know there is Wallaby and Swiffy from Google, but does anyone know any others, that support ActionScript. I want to convert a swf file to HTML, but the swf has some ActionScript (AS3) code inside it that is used to populate the swf. I want to be able to convert this into HTML and use JavaScript to populate the HTML version.
I'm having a bit of problems with simple XML coding. I'm using a simple flash application to write a XML containing customer data (simple stuff, like phone number, name, email, etc).I understand how to write XML manually, but my issue comes when I want to create a element inside another element. I'm using AS3.So, for example, I have the following xml.
I have a MovieClip in the library of my project, it has this code in the first frame of its timeline:[code]Then in the first frame of my main timeline, I have this:[code]
i'm using "iloveitaly"s easing scrollbar class, and it works great. however, i added an effect that i want on my scrollbar, and it doesnt work quite how it should. what should happen is when u press the dragger, it should duplicate itself and then fade out, giving it kinda a "mouse trail" type effect i guess you can call it. anyway, here is the code for the part in the class that doesnt work:
Can I run that code inside a movie clip? Becoz it doesn't wanna work! Here's my full code:[code]That code is on the root and the form details are inside a MC labled "form".Why doesn't the top code work and yet the bottom one does!?I do have 2 php files on my server: email.php & email2.php
I'm doing a basic hitTestPoint which works fine when everything is placed on the root of the flash file. However it fails when all the elements are placed within a movieclip. I've a feeling the problem is due either to the registration of the objects changing once they are placed in the new movieclip symbol, the 'relativity/absolutness' of my referencing or the "hitTestPoint (dragable_object_mc.x, dragable_object_mc.y, true)" part of my code.I have two movieclips: dragable_object_mc - which you can pick up and dragstatic_crashzone_mc - If you drag the other object into this a collision is 'traced' in the output window(it works fine until I place the _mcs and code into a new _mc symbol)Incidentally if I use the 'hitTestObject' code on the root or within a movieclip, it works fine.[code]
i have this javascript tracking-code I need to place in our flash-banner in order for our third-party tracking company to track clicks and that sort of stuff, but I'm not sure how I need to place it in our flash-banner. I thought I coudl simply place this javascript into a top layer or the like, but seems I cannot directly include it like that inside Flash. Then I thought perhhaps I could simply save the javascript file as .js file and call it from within the Flash file, but not sure how to go about it...
Here below is the javascript in question:
Code: <!-- START::ib-ibi.com View Tag; DO NOT MODIFY TAG--> <script type="text/javascript"> var _ibHost = "https://";
Is it possible at all yet to have an iframe inside your SWF file that loads a website with no external code..?or what about a html parser like this: as3htmlparser.sourceforge.net .can this parser do something like im asking..? or are cross site xml policies needed for such operations..?
im trying to find a way to check an external URL for specific data, but am finding it virtually impossible because of needed cross site domain policy's..im trying to accomplish this with only internal AS3 code and no server side code..
I have a pre built flash navigation menu. I am trying to add a getURL code to the buttons. The code looks like this:
function butnClick(event:MouseEvent):void { if (event.target.num == 0) { // For the 1st button: // Add your button click actions here[code]............
Im getting syntax errors and I know its wrong but thats the only way I know how to write it so far.
I am building a image presenter in Flash with as3 but i need a piece of code to make the two buttons work correctly. The code i have is as2 and i get 10 errors using it.[code]
I have a problem that's new for me.....When I test the following code inside of Flash, everything works well. When I publish the movie, and test it, I find that one of the functions doesn't work the way it worked (highlighted in the code).
In Adobe Flash, I have a movie clip that is added to the stage when the keyboard is pressed. I want it to travel across the screen and disappear once it reaches the edge of the stage. At the moment I use this but the image appears and then stops. Here is my code:
addEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE,runtime); var c = 0 function runtime(){
So I have 10 buttons, and I would like them to all do similar actions, but I was wondering if it's possible to optimize the code somehow.
When you rollover the button I would like it to alpha IN, and then when you rollout I'd like it to alpha OUT. Lastly, onPress I'd like to go to a different keyframe in the scene.[code]...
We all know that you can make a frame lable in a movie clip and call it on press,rollOver ect...
_root.some_mc.gotoAndPlay("scene1") - won't play on (press){ _root.some_mc.gotoAndPlay("scene1") - will play }
My question is how to get the line of code to run without and buttons. I have made a few sites and never had to do this. I have tried making a function. But to no avail. I just want it to load when the frame reads the code..
