IDE :: Can't Find Properties Panel
Apr 6, 2009I can't find the Properties Panel. I have a label on the stage and I want to change it's text property. Can you not do this like in CS3?

Jun 30, 2010I'm presently working with the trial version of CS5 while my work sorts out my new laptop and licence.One thing, hopefully simple, that is confusing me is that I can't find the animation panel. I would like to be able to apply motion presets while changing the properties of the preset. E.g. have a bounce over a longer time, with a shorter vertical drop, etc. Help files say to use the animation panel, Window > Interactive > Animation.But I can't find this. If I look in my Windows menu, I can't find a submenu called "Interactive". How can I find this panel?

Feb 3, 2010I have created a line on the stage with the Line tool, and then want to edit the Stroke and Style in the Properties panel. However, after creating the line these options are greyed out and not available to me. Even if I then select the Line with the Selection tool, I cannot edit the Stroke or the Style.

The text is in a file called about.txt located in the same folde as the swf.This is the contents of that text file:

Find Project Panel In Macromedia Flash MX?
May 26, 2011i am trying to review flash for our game thesis in school. i am trying to read a pdf file about flash and i am trying to do the examples listed in the notes.but i can't find the location of the project panel. Well i know where it lies if i used my own laptop with the prescribe flash in it. (FYI, i am using the company's installed flash in my assigned computer. i am an ojt here and since i finished their project early, i dont do much here anymore) so as pass time, i study flash for our thesis (my boss doesn't mind. He believed learning is good)The flash installed here i thinks is a bit old version. and honestly, i can't apply what i am learning since the setup is way different.So does anyone knows where the project panel is located? or if it is close, where can i open it? The company is using a Macromedia Flash MX by the way,

Aug 18, 2011This is kind of a lame complaint, but any benefit I have gained from upgrading from CS4 to CS5 is being eclipsed by the frustrating change that while I am trying to use the "Find" tool in the "Actions" panel, as soon as I hit "Find Next" the Actions panel closes and I have to close the Find tool then re-open the Actions panel then again to see if it found what I was looking for then re-open the Find tool if I need to go to the next instance. I know this does not seem like the biggest of deals, but is there a way to fix this?
I will also add that this happens when the panel is clicked from the icon. If the whole panel is free floating it works fine, but then it is obviously blocking the whole stage, and I have to collapse it to an icon to see anything. There is also the possibility that it is computer/OS difference since my CS4 machine and my CS5 machine are two different computers one running XP and the other running Vista.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Class And Base Class In Properties Panel?
Jul 6, 2011I have an mc called sunny. In the properties panel I export her for actionscript. I put Sunny in the main class and Drag in the base class. The reason for this is that I want her to be draggable. I can't use Drag in the main class as another object is using that name. The Drag.as has the drag functionality. Why can't I drag her. I already have a solution - I wrote a specific class for her and extended the Drag class. However, if I have 10 mcs I'm not going to write specific classes for all of them. Summing up: Using the base class Drag in properties panel - why isn't she draggable?

Oct 1, 2009I used to have a little text panel (that sat with the color, swatches, and align panels) that I was able to open up and edit text size, color, underline, etc with. It had a much better text editing ability then the properties panel, seeing as the properties panel does not even bother to allow me to underline text or to highlight and edit a single word in a whole text box. Now I don't have it, I can't find the damn thing anywhere, and I want it back. How can I get it?

Oct 13, 2010What I have is a game with a Level object, inside the Level is a Player object, and they don't have instance names given, what I'm trying to figure out is how to do is make it so that the player can change the x or y properties of the Level object.
To be more precise, I'm making it so that when the player moves in a certain direction, he either moves accross the stage, or he starts moving the Level object around the stage, it'd be in an Event kind of function, now I can easily make the Player move, but I don't know how to make the Level object move which the player is inside of.

However, when I first launched the software I am getting the following error: The following panel layout is missing or could not be read: /users/rob/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash CS5.5/en_US/Configuration/Workspace/Essentials.xml The application will not have a correct layout. load one from Windows ->Workspace Once past this message none of the panels load.

Mar 3, 2011I have basic movie clips, On roll over, show arrows [NEXT, PREVIOUS] on movie clip [they then show other images inside movie clips]I can show arrows on roll over.But when i roll over the arrows the main ROLLOUT function gets called, the arrows hide. I've tried several flagging methods and have resulted in using a larger invisible border around the clip, rolling over that hides them.

Sep 14, 2005Just been playing around with the tutorials, on the Set properties/Get properties. Everything is all cool, except the "instance name" aspect. I dnt really understand that too well. Is it possible to change an Mc Name dynamically? If you look at my FLA when you hit the top left red button you will get a trace of the mcName as "square". Now if you input a new mc Name on the right hand side, you will see it change on the left hand side. But i want to know why it doesnt remain as the new mc Name, it still goes back to square.

Jun 25, 2010i'm attempting to cast an object's property as an actual property of another object. here's my object variable: var propObj:Object = {prop:"width", width:50}; now i want to assign the property of a sprite using that object's properties. var sp:Sprite = new Sprite(); sp.(propObj.prop as Sprite.property) = propObj.width; now, i'm not even going to try that because i know the compiler will explode all up in my face. but you should be able to see what i'm trying to do. why i'm trying to do it is because i'm reading in an XML file with an undetermined list of usable properties for specific objects. so instead of writing something like a huge switch statement to evaluate whether the XML file has a value for that specific property, i'm trying to assign properties dynamically based on what's available in the XML file. if what i'm trying to do is possible, what's the best way to do it?

Mar 27, 2009When you open the Library panel and then my a new library so like you have 2 on the screen now pretty helpful if you want to open an external and have your current project open and drag and drop right. But here is the part I don't understand you have your 2 panels open now and every time you open your Library panel 2 pop up instead of one. God forbid if you every opened like 4 or 5 of these free floating Library panels I already have 3 going and there up there. is there a way to have all your open your Library panel with out having multiple un-needed Library opening along with the one you want?

Nov 9, 2008This has lost me already about 30 minutes of my work time. The panel decided to make itself extra tall, so I can't see the bottom of the panel. I see no way to vertically resize the panel. The only way that I think you can do that is to click and drag the bottom of the panel. The bottom of the panel is below the bottom of the screen even though I've dragged the panel up as high as it can go. How do I resize it?

It worked previously - I created an Actions Layer and was able to add action script, however, when I try to open it back up to edit the action script I wrote, neither the F9 shortcut nor the Windows>Actions pulls up the Actions Panel. Dec 29, 2009I am drawing a cellular automaton simulation on a Flex Canvas. I alternate computing the state of the automaton with updating the graphics on the Panel. However, the updating of the Panel does not seem to be "keeping up" with the update of the CA state.

when inspection the number of children each element has in eclipse, the control bar numChildren property goes up, but the panel doesn't so its as if its not getting added.

I have no questions regarding the panel, but, rather, how do I add a link to each image of the scroll; so, when the user clicks one, a popup or new page opens showing not the thumbnail he clicked, but the real size image?
