IDE :: Use The Free Edition Of Flowplayer As A Library On FLA Project?
Oct 26, 2009
I'm quite a newb in flash. I am trying to use the free edition of flowplayer as a library on my FLA project. If anybody did or tried this, please tell me how can I use the flowplayer to play embedded FLVs.
I've tried creating instances of the FlowPlayer(), Launcher() and Preloader() objects. On each one i've recieved errors of incorrect casting.
I was wondering if there is a website from where I can download free mp3 files to use in my flex project? I am looking for some mp3 files using which I can create simple sound effects (e.g., you press a button, you hear a sound). I read flex can only play mp3 files, not wav files. Is this true? What's the best way to convert wav files to mp3?
I am searching for a free charting library, either in Java, JS, or Flash, that allows for drill-down type interaction. An example of this sort of behavior can be found in the trends section on mint.com. JFreeChart seems like the generally recommended choice for charting purposes, but from a little browsing of their API there doesn't seem to be any obvious way to detect mouse clicks on a particular slice and change the chart in response.
Any advice on how to handle this sort of behavior using JFreeChart, or if this is not possible any recommendations for other libraries that do support this behavior?
I am looking for a) the easiest to use free chart library and b) a chart library with a lot of features for Flex. I am looking for basic line and bar graphs. What are the options available? Library size may be an issue for the application I am trying to write.
point out any good tween library free for use in commercial projects? The main critieria is its weight and I only need basic functionality which could be made in several ENTER_FRAME, but maybe there are some light libraries without paying fee for using. Tweener is to heavy for me, I need basically something below 5kb.
i'm working on desktop application that should open remote flash object with flashvars parameters.I tried with shockwave flash object library, but seems that flashvars option is not working. Also i have temporary solution with webbrowser control and making flash object filled. But webbrowser require Internet explorer with flash player installed. I can install flash player with my setup installer, but can't install flash in internet explorer automatically.
I'm developing a module based applications in Flex and I was thinking about moving all my Value Objects (VOs) into a library project
Current Structure: I have a project that consist of a shell application and 3 modules. The modules contain about 10 custom components in each that are dynamically loaded at run time. My problem is component A ( in module A) needs to pass data to component B (in module B). So when this happens I move the VO that component A was using to a common folder. I then pass the VO and have component B pick that up and do what ever it needs to do with it.
So what I was thinking was using an existing library project and adding all my VOs to it. This way I'll never have to move a VO from the module to a common folder so both module A and module B can access it. The basic idea is I want to be able to complete abstract any module from shell into its own widget or Air app with out depending on any other modules.
I'm developing an ActionScript 3.0 project for Blackberry Playbook, Android and iOS. I have some custom UI classes, like buttons, that I want to use it in another projects. How can I make an actionscript mobile library project? I'm using Flash Builder 4.5, and I'm not using Flex in my code.
I'm having a problem trying to download FMS developer edition.Basically when I try to download I get a window where I have to update my address data, which I do so correcly. After that I see the following screen:After this I continue and then I get sent back to the previous screen with the message "a general error occurred please try again".
i seem to be having some problems with the Vector class in actionscript 3 in a Flex Project or an ActionScript Project it is possible to do this var v:Vector.<String>; But when i do the same thing in a Flex Library Project (to create an SWC) then i get the following error on that line of code 1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: String.
so when using Flex Library Project it fails..., but when i compile the same thing using compc there are no problems any idea why only the library project is complaining about Vector ?
I want to use Open Flash Chart in Flex3/AS3 project?
I mean,How Can I use Open-flash-chart in Flex application client side.. ??? (I use FlashDevelop)
Can i do that by just adding .swf file?? If yes? then where to add? I am not using FlexBuilder, I am using FlashDevelop OR Command line for compiling..
Or I have to add .swc file.. ??? If yes, then how to generate one for open flash chart..???
I have a Flex Library Project which has both Flex specific classes, and Air specific classes. When I reference the library in an Air project, the compiler complains about an overriding contextMenu in mx.containers.Panel, saying that the param should be of type NativeMenu (instead of ContextMenu). If I switch it over to NativeMenu then it compiles fine.
The issue is when I reference the library in a Flex Project. This time it complains that it doesn't know the type NativeMenu. If I try to change it back to ContextMenu, then I get the same error as above.I've searched google to no avail (found that someone else encountered the exact same problem: http:url.... )
If I create a new ActionScript project with Flash Builder and want to add some library (for example Tweenlite) where do I have to put the gs folder of Tweenlite relative to my project folder? and what do I need to setup in the project settings in order to be able to use it?
Despite my luddite tendencies, I now have a phone with Java support - but no Flash support. I also have a copy of Macromedia Flash MX2004, though I'm unlikely to upgrade any time soon. What I'd like to be able to do is develop some content (including vector animations) in Flash, then use those resources in a Java Micro Edition application. I don't need all features of Flash - in particular, I don't care about ActionScript support. But I do want to be able to load a SWF file (or, perhaps better, an alternative file format that can be generated using a converter tool), and to be able to display animations and use other resources (particularly play sounds) from in that file.
Is there a good library and toolkit to support this kind of thing? Obviously (from the MX2004) it doesn't need to be completely up to date. On knowledge level - I've been a programmer for decades, and my everyday language these days is C++. However, I have a very limited knowledge of Java, and virtually no knowledge (yet) of Micro Edition and its libraries. I've already heard of Flash to J2ME converters, but so far as I can see they generate complete applications in one step, rather than treating the SWF file as a source of resources to be controlled from separately written Java code.
EDIT I get the feeling that this is (with slight modifications) probably quite easy. Java Mobile Edition supports SVG vector graphics. SVG supports animations. There are (I'm pretty certain) ways to convert flash animations to SVG - probably a simple export-to-SVG in the application, though I've not checked. This in itself doesn't give me a convenient bundle-of-media resources file format, but that's a relatively simple problem to solve, so long as there's a way to "load" SVG and other media files from some kind of non-file stream class that gets its data in turn from the bundle-of-media file.
Here in Flash CS4 Explorer, I have shapes. It's intuitive that I be able to right-click on Scene1, and be able to Insert Shape. Can't. I go to the frame. Can't. I right-click everywhere. I see 'Create Shape', but everywhere I see it, it's grayed out - won't let me.
How do I create new shapes in the graphics folder in the library of a flash cs4 project?
My flex (flash builder 4) project references (embeds) a flex library project (ReusableFx). I have it working fine when it builds and runs, but I am struggling with a Design mode error "Design mode: Error during component layout...". In the flex library project there is a 'default.css' file which references a png file. Specifically like this:
[Code]...
It works when I build and run, I see the icon, but the problem is that design mode must work different in flash builder and breaks with this line. I tried a few things with no difference:
I'm creating some custom components and backing code. I've created a Flex library project in Flash Builder which compiles to a SWC. The problem is now that all my MXML files get compiled into classes in the default package, making the whole thing a big mess.Is there a way to set a package declaration for MXML files? After all it just gets translated into AS3 classes. This seems to work in regular Flex projects using a namespace declaration so I'm at a loss how that is supposed to work. The other option is building out all the components in AS3 which I'd like to avoid.
I have a Flex application and I would like to add the FlowPlayer to it. I have downloaded the flowplayer.swc file, but I am not sure what to add to my MXML to include the flowplayer.
For a site I'm using Flowplayer and the Overlay tool from jQuery Tools, to show video. Within windows everything is fine in the main three browsers: IE7/8/9, Firefox and Chrome. Within OS X (Snow leopard), the problems begin: A click in the video, anywhere, causes a reload. This is the case for the three browsers Safari, Firefox and Chrome (Not in Chrome 12.0.742.53 beta ???) Giving the embeded player the property wmode = 'opaque' or wmode = 'transparent' results in the same situation on the windows platform, but only Firefox en Chrome browsers. Not in IE. So wmode is really bugging me... documentation on wmode ? I can't find anything suitable
i have situation in which i have some library projects, say
"DataProcessors","Lib2"
, included in my lets say "MainProject" (a web project) placed on directory
"E:in-debugMainProject.swf"
, when i build the project it automatically place all the libs .swf in its "E:in-debug" folder, but when i debug or run the project it it gives loading error that
I cant "center" my project, like you can see its "fixed" (yellow lines) in the left side and I cant see "invisible" part of project... (area around the project). how can I move my project so I can see the not-project area around the project. (picture 2).
At the moment situation... (cant see that area around the project) http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/1186/68553623.png
