May 9, 2011This is a silly question.. I have been away from flash for a while and looking to get back in and also upgrade from 2004 MX. Is the Adobe Flash Pro CS 5.5 the latest version?

This is basic code to connect to an RTMP server (Real Helix) using Netstream class. NOW the video does not even display and there is no error message . THIS ONLY OCCURS in a BROWSER . Also I am using swfobject to display the flash and I tried with latest version and the old 1.4.1 version.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Load The LATEST Version?
May 3, 2006I have developed a swf, lets call it "project.swf" which will require updating over time, so to avoid a user loading an old version I will name the files thus:"project1.swf", "project2.swf", "project3.swf" etc everytime a new version is published.
I load this file from a movie called "get_latest_version.swf", into which I hard code the latest version of "project.swf". Not very efficient at all!!So heres what I want to do: In "load_latest_version.swf" can I create a way of detecting the highest version number (newest version) and automatically loading that instead of always hard coding a new version number everytime I add a new feature?

Load Latest .swf And Not Browser Cached Version?
Jan 5, 2012I have tried various codes (probably wrongly) and read different posts and failed to achieve what I am after. So to cut going round in circles I have just made a simple test folder. There are 3 things I am trying to achieve so that latest files are loaded instead of browser cached versions.
Everything is linked properly in the TEST folder (apart from the code to get latest non cached version)

The three things I want to achieve-
In the TEST.zip folder start with index.html.
1- There you will see >Enter Button< and >portfolio.pdf< button. Nothing will change on index.html page but the portfolio pdf will be regularly updated. So I want the >portfolio.pdf< to fetch the latest pdf always. I assume the code will go on the >portfolir.pdf< button?
2- >Enter Button< will take us to master.html page which contains master.swf. Master.html is only a container but master.swf will be regularly updated and needs to always load the latest master.swf version.
3- Load image.swf button will load image.swf. I want the button to load the latest image.swf file always.

So if you are trying to install application and you have not installed Adobe Flash player yet, it automatically suggests you install Flash player. So by default this application needs version 10.2 so it tries to install it, but adobe blocks it, because it says that I am trying to install an old version of flash player, so how can I avoid this blocking, so I don't need to install the newest version of Flash player each time? Jul 12, 2010Operating System - Windows 7, 64 bit Web Browsers - Mozilla Firefox, Version 3.6.6 Microsoft Internet Explorer, 32 bit, Version 8.0 Flash Player Version 10.1 For some reason, the new version of Skype is playing havoc with my Flash Player plugins for both Firefox and Internet Explorer.
I downloaded and installed the latest Skype software today and noticed immediate problems. Skype was not responding and the Flash Player plugins on both browsers began crashing. I uninstalled both Skype and the Flash Player plugins. I then restarted my computer and reinstalled the Flash plugins. Functionality was restored to the Flash plugins in my browsers. I then reinstalled Skype. It was immediately non-functional and my Flash plugins started crashing again.I am now at the point where I have reinstalled the Flash plugins again and functionality is restored. I know if I try to install Skype, the Flash plugins will crash again.

Feb 21, 2010I have built my personal webpage in Flash CS3/AS3. I did some updates today, changed some pictures and stuff. Now when I upload and replace the previous *.swf on the server, and try to load my webpage my browser displays the folowing message:
Content on this page requires a newer version of Adobe Flash Player. I tried exporting with Flas Player 8, and checked it using different bowsers too (curenntly I use the latest version of Firefox), but I get the same error when trying to relode my site. I have no more ideas what to do.

The application was originally developed as an English application, but during localization it became necessary to locate a unicode font capable of displaying Asian characters. The original implementation of the application uses four fonts to satisfy the various permutations of character emphasis. Bold, Bold Italic, Italic and Normal are all supplied through the corresponding Arial fonts in the Arial family.
Problem: When trying to compile in the font as one that could be used for the bold, italic, and bold italic through something like (yes its not ideal, this was just a test to see if it could be done):

It isn't so much the how to solve this issue. There are plenty of viable solutions. However what I would really like to know is how does Flex apply bold and italics to a font that it says does not support bold or italics.

Dec 13, 2011I'm just about to uninstall and reinstall at this point but I'm getting my install all screwed up trying to update Flash Pro CS5.5 to use Flash Player 11. I had it fine using the MXP provided in this adobe blog. Though that's 11.0 not 11.1. It did work however.
I downloaded the latest Flash Player / Debugger .exe and the latest SWC for 11.1 and now Stage3D is no longer being seen. Clearly I screwed something up. I uninstalled and reinstalled the MXP after deleting the FP11 XML and FP11 directory but it's not working anymore.
Is there a clear cut simple way to explain how to overlay the latest Flash Player for FPCS5.5? I used the AIR overlay instructions for 2.6 - 3.1 and it worked every time. Now I just need Flash Player overlay instructions. I'm very interested to start trying to Starling framework with Stage3D. I select FP11 to export and it tells me it can't find Stage3D.

Oct 27, 2009I installed Flash CS4 a couple of days ago. Trying it out for the first time today. I went to import a video & got a message: "The required version of Adobe Media Encoder is not installed or the installation is damaged. Please reinstall."
I'm showing a Media Encoder CS4 folder under my Adobe folder, so I assume I've got the latest version installed, but it's a corrupt installation & I need to reinstall. My question is: do I need to redo the whole Flash CS4 installation? The reason I ask is that our IT provided me with multiple files for the install - there's ADBEFLPRCS4Win_LS1.exe. That's for the main install. But there's also a ADOBEFLPRCS4Win_Cont_LS1.exe. That's the added content file. I don't want to uninstall/reinstall Flash if I don't have to. Does anybody know if Media Encoder installs from the main Flash installation file, or from the added content installation file?
