View 13 RepliesI'd like to pause an animation loop when I rollover a button(the button is part of the area that is being animated and I want all the other buttons to stop animating except for the one I rollover) and then start the animation back up again when I rollout.

View 4 RepliesI created a simple flash movie for a client that loops 3 times. At the end of each revolution i want to add a button that will pause the main movie action and reveal a small pop-up for legal copy when the user rolls over it, then re-start the movie again once they roll off it - however, it will only do this when the user interacts with the button, if they don't touch it, the movie will continue through the 3 loops unimpeded. Side note: I cannot use pause and play buttons, it needs to be a simple rollover/rollout function.
View 2 RepliesI'm having difficulty adding a Play/Pause button to an FLA animation that I've created. The animation is a frame-by-frame clip with motion tweens (rather than an FLV file). I'd like the Play/Pause button to toggle between a PLAY state and a PAUSE state depending on whether the animation is already playing or paused. (It will automatically play when the user begins viewing it, so the first button state should be at PAUSE.)
I've sucessfully created the button (actually as a movie clip with the two states). I've also got the button to pause and play the animation--but I'm unable to get the button (movie clip that is) to actually toggle between the two states. Can anyone tell me a good script to use for this type of control?
I'm trying to create an animation which involves play and pause buttons, i've tried following the tutorial but because my animation is on many different layers it won't work.

2. the button when clicked should play another 'animation' that is placed on the scene(can't get to work)
3.Inside the 'animation' the button plays, there is a 'close' button that should playout the 'anmation' timeline.(not working)not sure what script to attached to the 'close' button .
Okay, now things are getting a little complicated. I need to build a Flash object that can sit over the corner of an image to serve extra content. It's way beyond my Flash skill level, my work is usually limited to print work in Photoshop and Illustrator so please excuse me if any of the following isn't clear. I am trying to learn though, So this is how it's all supposed to work, along with my issues; When the image & Flash item load a small looping animation will play to draw the eye/show the item as interactive.
When the user rolls over this the corner will peelback. I have a working peelback animation for the rollover, that reacts to mouse over/mouse off, and a looping animation for the initial, but I cannot work out how to make the initial loop until mouseover, then play the peelback when the mouse is over. And go back to the initial animation loop if the user rolls off. (Each of these animations is stored as a movie clip in the Library)
Then it gets more complicated... if the user stays on the corner until it is fully peeled back I need to make a small countdown (sort of a 3, 2, 1 situation) show, before launching a lightbox (would this have to be jQuery, or could it be done in Flash?) in the browser to serve the content.

I'm trying to get the animation of this actionscript to pause on RollOver and then play again on rollOut, but no luck so far.

I'm trying to create flash rollovers for buttons that play the full rollover animation even if you roll of it, and if you stay on it if will play once and not keep repeating. The rollover animation is only short, about 2 seconds, but which ever way I try it I can't get it to play the full clip if you roll off, either that or it will play the full clip but keep repeating if you keep the mouse on it.
At the moment it is just a movieclip in a rollover keyframe of a button.This has stumped me for years. Other sites seem to do it fine (off the top of my head the 4 menu rollovers at the bottom of http:[url].... do it - if you rollover each one left to right in one go they do a kind of Mexican wave) but I just can't see a way of doing it.
below is some code i am using to rewind / play an animaion depending on the rollover state. only ting is i would like to have it so that i could do something like:

this way i can use the same function over and over but i am not sure how to write this. i think its someting like function playFrames(obj); and then you do something with this...

I have a timeline of 30 frames, each it's own mc (page01_mc, etc.). In each mc I show a picture or two and hear narration.I have a first, prev and next nav on the main timeline. I need to add a play/pause btn that will pause both pictures and sound. I assume I do that in each mc, but do not know where to find the code.Here is what is in each mc now:

View 7 RepliesI like the mouse cursor to change to another object (like zoom lens) when rollover a certain area.but only for this area, when rollout of this area the cursor should be as per normal.[code]...
but that means the cursor have to change to a new object throughout the flash.
what i want is for the cursor to change just only on one area and the rest remain as usual.
When the mouse hovers over the image the cursor flickers between hand and standard mouse pointer. One work around I've tried is to place an object under the main button that is bigger than the main button. That seems to work but only for that button. If I try it for others...well the image because cluttered with useless boxes.
View 9 RepliesI want the cursor to disappear when it rolls over an object, then reappear when it rolls off. It works when I run it in Flash, it works when I view the html in Internet Explorer, it DOESN'T work in Netscape. The cursor disappears and doesn't come back till you move it out of the navigator window. Here's the code:

I've just started get the hang of Flash, but am not too skilled with AS2 yet apparently. I was wondering how I would go about if I want the scene to pause when I roll the mouse over it, and then continue playing when I roll out.
I figured it would be something like this:

how I could go about pausing this timer on rollover of an object, stage... anything? I am just cycling images on the main timeline via this timer but would like the timer to pause if a user has mouse over one of the images.

The menu is working and sliding perfectly, however it's still a little squirmish, and if I can't figure this out I'll deal with it and let it slide. However it's bugging me and want to correct the "sluggishness" of this issue. I want the menu to pause, or rest when you open it, so that there isn't a chance the it can slide off of the users mouse pointer.

I thought a simple on (rollOver) speed = 0 would do the trick, however it just sends the menu in a frenzy.
how I get my button rollovers to show a hand cursor when viewing the exported file in my browser (firefox), I exported it as an HTML directly from Flash CS5 and I have the following code applied to the buttons :-
buttonsArray[i].buttonMode = true;buttonsArray[i].mouseChildren = false;buttonsArray[i].mouseEnabled = true;
So I don't really understand why it doesn't show.. I've had a look around on the internet and found the following suggestion which I haven't tried :-
buttonsArray[i].useHandCursor = true;
Is this my answer or just another lost attempt ?? BTW the buttons are movieClips within an external wrapper clip (nav.button[i])

simple one this, or so i thought! basically, i want a mc to play from start to finish (11 frames) upon rollover and upon rollout i want it to play backwards to the first frame. Accurately.
