I usually work with after effects, and i made this animation using it.Now I'm trying to import this short clip into a website by Wix websites..I exported the movie in FLV from after effects.I Need to put the movie on the homepage of the website, make it play once and then disappear entirely so that you can see the website hiding behind it. Now it cant be anything but SWF. No HTML or anything .any way to do it?
View 3 RepliesI have a simple drag and drop game which consists of a scale and multiple rocks that you can place on either side of the scale. If you get the rock placed on the correct side the first time, you get ten points, which is reflected in a dynamic text box in the upper right hand corner. If you get it wrong, you get zero poitns even if you get it correct the second time. That all works fine. These rocks are also double-click-able and when you do that it will bring up some information about that rock. You can close that window and then go about your business. That works fine as well.
Well recently I added an instructions button into the mix (just in case you want to see the instructions from the beginning again) and it follows the same sort of logic as opening the window when you double-click on a rock. Only with this, it is just with a click. I get to the window just fine, shows the instructions and everything. Then I close it, that works fine too. Then the really interesting thing is, when I go to place another rock and when it is placed correctly, the score disappears. It just vanishes. This doesn't happen if I'm looking at the info of the rocks and then continue to play the game. It's only after viewing the instructions and closing it out.[code]...
Version Used:Flash MX 2004 I am trying to generate a Page with 3 paragraphs,each text paragraph with some custom animation attached to every character.What i Did was:
1.Open a new document
2.Create a Dynamic Text Box,named it "letter_txt" for the instance name.
3.Converted this to a Movie Clip and named that instance "letter_mc".
4.Converted "letter_mc" into another movie clip "text_mc"
5.Went to editing mode and used some tweened animation on "letter_mc"
I followed steps 2-5 and created two other movie clips with "text2_mc"->"letter2_mc"->"letter2_txt" and similarly with "text3_mc"->...I followed nearly the same procedure as shown in [URL]

The animation in My first Paragraph i suppose should be able to swivel ,but There is something unexpected about them.Also all the letters start disappearing at the start of the next "paragraph".I am very new to ActionScript and Flash.I tweaked the code a bit from the one given since I do not see how a movie clip "mcLetter" can have an attribute "text".
I am using Adobe Flash Professional CS4 with all the latest updates. The FLA is an Actionscript 3.0 file. I am creating a basic flash site with several pages that change when the user clicks links on a left side navigation bar. on the pages are sub tabs that change out different content(text) based on what the user clicks on the current page. when they click a button it triggers an event listener, the event listener runs its function which changes the definition of an already defined (String) variable, and the page goes on to a frame checks what that variable is and then leads the movie to the correct frame that the corresponding content is on.
here's the issue: it works perfectly the first few times, and then the event listeners stop working, first one of them, then all three once i click one of the two available. i started this site before i even knew what a class was(regretably), and all the code is on the timeline in different frames.

I am using AS2 in CS5.5.I am creating a project for a class that introduced me to adobe flash. The issue is I have gotten to a certain point about 15 scenes. During say the 15th scene scrolling through the timeline animations works fine, playing it on test scene works fine. When I go to play it on test movie it stops at a certain point. At first I thought it might have been a misplaced stop action but there is none to be found. The weird part is every other scene I create after that continues to freeze as well, the images are there, but the animations won't play. All my previous animations play before those with the issue, it's justThese new ones won't play for some reason in test movie, but work completely fine in test scene and the timeline.

(1) Flash can only play FLV files? Can you get it to play Movs, Avis, Mpegs... Can I some how put in codecs for them?
(2) Can people easily get their movies to FLV format? Is this an issue for people?
I don't want to make it complicated for them to put things on my site. I would like them to be able to upload movies with ease and obviously not make things too complicated for them. I want to make it as user friendly as possible.

The movie click is on the same layer as the Map Buttons that have a linkage to class MapButton.

I've got a little animation that I'm going to embed in my website. I'd like it to start playing, say, 10 seconds after the page is loaded.
Is there an Actionscript command that effectively says "start play after 10 seconds"?
Or do I need to just add a bunch of blank frames within the animation to effectively start roughly 10 seconds in?

It's basically going to be a series of JPEGs which animates between frames. What I need to know is: What is the best size (in pixel dimensions) to go for? How will this be affected by different TV sizes / ratios, such as widescreen vs. normal? We're planning on publishing the Flash movie as a .mov file and then burning this to a DVD. Does that sound a good idea?

I would like to set it up so it loads completely, then starts playing on it's own once it has completely loaded. View 12 RepliesI have a movie in my library which I've assigned a class so I can attach it to the stage in my code. This movie has stop() markers along it.
I have it fade in and play when the user clicks a button and it stops when it hits a marker (stop()) Now I want it to fade back out once it stops.
Is there an eventlistener that I can put in to say the movie has stopped?
I tried putting a call to the fade out function (on main timeline) in the video with the stop()'s but knew it wouldn't work.
I have very annoying and easy (I believe) problem with Macromedia Flash 8. My movie consists of 10 scenes. I wanted them to be played each after another (e.g. scene 1, scene 2, etc.).However, the scenes that consist of movie clips are just flashing and movie proceed to next scene. There is no problem with scenes that where done just in main timeline. I tried to put some action script on these movie clips like:

I have a movie clip (that includes a preloader and video elerments) that I created and made a .swf file from which I then imported in my main movie. I then place this .swf file (which is listed as a movie clip symbol in the library) onto the main timeline. I put an action to stop the main timeline at the frame where the nested movie is placed and expected to start. When previewing the movie, the nested movie doesn't play. I see the preloader (in scene 1 of the nested movie) appears for a second but the movie doesn't play.
Any specific action command needs to be define to make the nested movie play?

I want a swf file that will play other swf files one after the other. They are swf, not video files, as I need to change everything on the page when the video stops playing. So, one swf opens with a custom page - plays a video - and then the next swf will open and do the same thing. There's much talk about 'typing stop(); on the last frame of a video" - As far as I can see - everything is automatically sitting on a single frame in Flash - whether it's scene 1, or I open the movie file - the movie is all playing in one frame. If try to simple put different material on a second frame, it loops back and forth between one frame of each movie (it will change the background, and video - but I get only ONE frame of each movie - not the full movie before switching).
View 9 RepliesI have used previous versions of Adobe Flash and now have Professional CS5.5, and I am coming to you with an embarrasingly, ridiculously stupid question that is absolutely stumping me. My movie cannot stop playing, no matter how many stop(); I've embedded in there. I created a layer on top, added the stop(); code at the end of the scene, and the swf ignores it and starts playing the next scene. As an experiment, I put a stop(); on the very first frame of the .fla, but that too is ignored. I have dozens of stop(); action commands riddled throughout the movie, but not a one of them is capable of stopping the exported movie from playing and looping. I assume there must be some simple, easy property or code trick or document preference or something that I've overlooked, but I can't for the life of me figure out what it is.

I have a game engine and when the player moves right, I just have a static graphic of a box with a right facing arrow. The player is a movie clip with an instance name of "char" on the main stage, inside of it is a bunch of frames with the player in different positions (ie box with up arrow, box with left arrow, etc). So when the right arrow key is pressed then "char" will go to and stop at frame 1 with the right facing arrow.
Here is my problem: When I replace this graphic of a box and arrow with another movie clip of an animation, the animation doesn't play on run time, it will just show me the first frame of the animation inside the movie clip but it won't play the rest of the movie clip. What is stopping this animation from playing?

I used vector shapes and tweened them (nothing complicated). Can anyone provide me with some info on how to prevent this or lead me to a site that explains this sort of stuff.
