Oct 12, 2010Flash newbie here, using CS5 on a Mac. I've created several Flash animation files, all about 25 seconds long. The animations are fairly simple, about 6 layers each, but all contain a lot of movement. I need to turn the animations into videos that can be played on computers that don't have any Adobe programs, i.e. Quicktime. This is where my issue comes in. The published .swf files work wonderfully, but when I export the files to Quicktime video (.mov) the motion seems to leave a "trail" of images behind it. The static remnants go away after a few seconds but are replaced by new remnants of the current movement. I've played around with the quality and size of the videos, but nothing seems to have helped. I've tried used Xilisoft video converter to convert the .swf files into .avi or .mp4, but the files couldn't be uploaded. Does anyone have any recommendations as to what steps I could take to export my .fla or .swf files into high-quality video files?

Aug 16, 2010I would like to serve high quality video (H.264) between a server and a single Flash Player client with low latency (RTMFP). The single client will be controlling a robotic device and seeing the results through the video stream, so low latency is important.
Option A: The Flash Player supports low latency streaming of video between two P2P nodes via the RTMFP protocol in Flash Player 10. It uses the Spark codec to encode the video and as far as I know it is not possible to encode using any other codec in the player.
Option B: Flash Media Live Encoder does support live encoding using other codecs (On2 and H.264) but cannot act as an RTMFP peer - this option would require Flash Media Server in the middle.It seems I cannot stream video to a single client over RTMFP with anything other than Spark.
PHP To Convert A Video From A Given Format To Flash To Display On The Web Page To Play?
Oct 25, 2010So we were going to make a website allowing users to upload video. The website is going to be in PHP/MySQL. Are there any converters out there available for PHP to convert a video from a given format to flash to display on the web page to play?
Basically we would have a file on the server in say .avi format, or quicktime format. How do I grab it from the server, convert it to flash and display it on the php page to play?
Also, does can I use the video capabilities of HTML5 with PHP to make any of this easier?

Oct 14, 2009I'm suddenly getting an "Unexpected file format" error on virtually every Flash CS4 file that I try to open. These are files that I created and I'm trying to open tham on the same computer on which they were created. The only thing that I can think of that has changed is that I installed some new fonts, so I deleted those, but that hasn't helped.I've tried retrieving files that I had backed up to a server, and those give me the same error. The only files that I AM able to open are 1) a test file that I created in CS4, saved, closed and reopened, and 2) files that had been created in CS3.

Dec 28, 2010Today I was working on a project in Flash, I restarted my computer because when I was pasting sth. It was pasting "Hello!". After the restart, I opened Flash, It said that the "Essentials xml" couldn't be opened. So it said to go to Window>Essentials reset. I did and I was able to edit again. But before doing that, I tried to open that project, and it Said that it couldn't be found. I opened it manually but still the same. Then I closed Flash and opened it again. And when I opened the project I got : "Unexpected file format".

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." - with an option for "Close program"I hit close program, and Flash disappears. If I try and open that same FLA file again, I get the error messageUnfortunately it seems since Flash is crashing in the middle of saving, it is corrupting my FLA file. This is extremely worrying, since it corrupts my entire source file.Here's the details of my computer:OS: Windows 7 - Recently upgraded from 32bit Windows XPThe Flash CS5 version is 11.0.0.485The FLA in question is 10MB, and contains some large map files (gifs), lots of small JPG's as well as a fair chunk of code as well as importing of external classes. I created a folder which includes the main swf as well as the video in the flv format. Since this is a University project, I sent this folder to a professor and he could not see the video. Dec 10, 2010I am currently working on a flash website that has several flv videos on it. Since the website layout has a slight tilt, I have had to transform the videos to slightly tilt as well. The problem that I am having is that when I do this the image becomes very pixelated and the edges of the video become jagged. I have somewhat fixed the edges issue by making a mask around it but i really dont know how to make the resolution better, or what causes it to loose resolution when slightly transformed. The size of the videos is the same as encoded. All I do is tilt them upwards on the right side a bit.

Sep 9, 2010I'm porting in an .flv to Flash for the first time. I created the .flv from an .MP4 using Media Encoder CS5, and then opened a new Actionscript 3 .fla in Flash Professional CS5, clicked File > Import > Import Video. Then selected 'Load external video with playback component'. Everything seems to have imported fine, but when I publish the SWF and import it via Dreamweaver CS5 and preview the page, the video is there, but the controls are not. There's just a white box where the controls should be. Also, the video is out of sync with the audio, which I believe is a problem with Media Encoder, not Flash.

Mar 28, 2011I'm currently working on a website design. The idea is a big chromakeyed interactive video in Flash. The size of the video is 1080 (width) x 1500 (height) pixels.I've exported the video in After Effects with the standard settings for flash (File>Export>Adobe Flash Player(SWF)). Now when I import the video in Flash and preview the file, the video plays in a slower speed and it's not playing smooth at all...Is the video too big? Is there a maximum video-size to keep the video running correct in Flash? Is it something else that causes this problem..?

Mar 6, 2010With the Flash Player that comes with CS3 and on my PC XP Pro laptop.I want the player controls to appear at the _bottom_ of the video not on top of the video and not under (behind) the video.
- my video is 640 x 480
- so I modified the "properties" tab at the bottom of the screen to 640x480... (it was 550x400)
- but that just makes everything larger when I click File > Publish
- and then look at the video in Internet Explorer... the Player Controls are still _On Top_ of the video.
I guess I need to learn how to
- Make the stage bigger
- Position the Player controls below the actual video
