You can create a movie clip within the Flash Pro interface and then use it with actions script. But how do you create a sprite element in the Flash Pro interface (by that I mean creating it without using action script)?
I'm doing a simple rotation on a sprite but there's a weird behavior where the sprite does not rotate around it's top left. I think I'm rotating along the top left of the test class instead of the sprite child. I would like to rotate the rectangle around it's top left corner (kinda like a clock hand). The code is pretty short so I'll let the code + pictures explain my problem:
package { import flash.display.Sprite;
[Code]....
I've read a lot of stuff about rotating around a fixed point, I've tried doing it with movieclips instead of sprites, I even copy pasted a tutorial on rotation and nothing works.
I'm trying to create a flash program that uses it's own code to send and create images. Each square has a colour and that colour gets added into the array. A black, then grey, then white is:
filecode = ["Bl", "Gr", "Wh"];
That works fine, but when I try to paste it into an Input text box it will only fill in the first part of the array.
filecode = ["Bl,Gr,Wh"];
So the program has NO idea what I want.The only ways I can think of fixing this is by putting in 402 text boxes to suit every box...But every one of them needs a Variable Name.Or by sending the information straight into the array. But this way you are just looking at what you just drew, and that is not at ALL practical.
First off - I am very new to AS3. I have a class that creates some sprites from ones that are in my library (exported for actionscript, thus new classes I guess?). What I want to do is, from my class, be able to create different sprites.
Code: symbolToUse = "Star"; //this is different, comes as a parameter when instancing this class... var particle:Sprite = new symbolToUse(); Is this possible?
ActionScript Code: var MapBtnArray:Array = []; var MapBtnSprite:Sprite; var i:int;
[Code].....
I'm using to code above to create several sprite on the stage, but when I click on the sprite, the index of each trace work just fine (output of J is according to the target i click); however MapBtnArray[j].x keep equals to "0"
I want the coordinate of the sprite on stage, how come what i get is "0" instead?
I'm going wrong with this? I'm trying to create a print button and a sprite, but nothing is showing up when I publish.n what I'm missing? Basically what I'm trying to do is create a coupon that can then be printed.
//_____PRINTING FUNCTION_____ var printContent:Sprite = new Sprite(); var printBtn:PrintBtn;
Code: var ball:Array = new Array(); var currentBall:Number = Math.random(); Now I want to create a sprite with ball[currentBall]
What I am trying to do is have it so that I can keep creating sprites from a random number like if i wanted every time a user pressed a spacebar to create a new sprite.Is array the best way to do this?
can you create arrays of Bitmap and Sprite Objects? or Custom Objects?
if not, how would you typically create multiple Objects of the same type? just a loop with
var enemy:Sprite = new Sprite(); for(var count:int=0; count<10; count++) { enemy = new Sprite();
[Code].....
That way could be fine for many things, but theres other things I want to do.. such as, create an array of wav sounds.... and my program could pick and choose them, so they wouldnt need to load them on demand.. midi files too.
I thought would be coded like this: var sp:Sprite = new Sprite(); sp.graphics.beginFill(0xFF88CC); sp.graphics.drawCircle(0, 0, 50);
[Code]....
however, I realize even tho im looping that addChild method, its still adding sp, so do I add a new naming convention in the loop, or should I be adding these instances to another display object.... this seems like such a simple thing to do yet I cant figure it out, I also want to randomize the x and y, but this first seems to be the issue I need to address.
I want a class that I'm going to pass a short bit of XML data And then I want that class to create either a Sprite or Clip that consists of an image and some text based on the XML data Example my XML might look like
I know how to get to the data what I'm looking for is the best way to create this Sprite on my stage.should the class create a sprite or clip?should the class called to create an instance and then I addChild in my core script?
I need tp set the y coordinate on a sprite's rightmost coordinate. That is, usually when we set the y coordinate that's the lefttmost side of the sprite, and the sprite starts there and goes to the right of that point. I need to reverse that. The reason is because I'm putting text into it and it's going to the rightmost side of a box, so it can't overflow to the right.
I need to use softkeyboard for a flash program developed for windows desktop, and I tried the example given on the following page: [URL] When I test the movie, it gives me a compiler error: 1119: Access of possibly undefined property needsSoftKeyboard through a reference with static type flash.display:Sprite. I noticed that this feature is available to flash players 10.2 or higher, so I updated my CS4, but it still didn't work. Does anybody know what is causing the problem?
SO I am working on animating a 20/fps sprite (an SCV from Starcraft 2). The animation is 1 second long, and thus 20 frames. I have made a sprite sheet in photoshop, and have each frame as a separate layer. I import the PSD into my library and have it convert the layers to "Flash Frames". I get each frame nicely tucked away as a layer in my library. Problem is, it gives an ugly white border (about 1 to 2 pixles thick) around my sprites, making it look like I did a terrible crop job. However, the crop job is fine (I can change the background in the PSD to black, and the cropped sprite frames look perfect! What have I done wrong or need to do?
I created a class, extended the sprite class, and now in the constructor I am trying to set the Sprite's width and height properties which are inherited from the DisplayObject. However, after I set this.width and this.height, and print the values, I get 0 for both.
What the heck is going on? When I view the livedocs I see that DisplayObject has width and height listed as public properties. I have been able to instantiate a Sprite directly, and set the width and height after it's been instantiated, so I don't get it.
package { import flash.display.*; public class ScrollBar extends Sprite {[code].....
I am developing a Flash/Flex based web tool that needs to output a pdf(which will contain dynamically created graphs) that will then be stitched to other pdfs and delivered as a single pdf.
Then the numericStepper is drawn as if it is squished to 20% its normal height. If I pre-set mySprite width and height before adding the numericstepper, the trace output is 0,0 after adding it and it is not displayed at all. Is there some way I can make the sprite only adjust to correctly fit the numericStepper OR resize it afterwards without distorting the numericStepper component?
what this company is using to create the e-flash flyers? Example: Canadiantire.ca Just curious to know what product they are using to create these interactive flyers. Perhaps Adobe sells one that I'm not aware (template)?
I have been working on a full flash website for a while, and been testing it using the Ctrl + Enter command to export it to swf. Today I was working on the file making some text modifications, but when I tried to test the website, nothing happens. It shows the progress window, but after a while nothing happens, It wont show the swf test file, and It doesn't create the swf file in any way. I tried the other commands: file-publish, file-export to swf with no success. I'm using Flash CS4 professional (10.0.2) on Windows Vista Home Premium 32Bit. Other .fla files export swf with no problem, and the Swf preview (Ctrl + Enter) works fine. It's only in this file.
I'm new to Flash and I need to learn how to do a slideshow with exactly the same features as can be found in this link: [URL]. Just like at the link above, it needs to play through the slides automatically once the page is loaded, each slide needs to link to a specific URL, and I need controls similar to the boxes at the bottom so the viewer can click on any specific slide they wish to view (I'd like to have numbers in the boxes though). The transitions don't have to slide across like this. If a fade is easier, that would be fine.
Actually, I thought I'd be able to do this fairly easily with Flash Catalyst, so I updated to Adobe CS5 Design Premium. I found that Flash Catalyst can be used to create a slide show like this, but unfortunately it won't play automatically when the page loads and the viewer has to manually click through the slides, which is not what I need. I could be wrong, but from what I've read, I need Flash Builder to add code so the slide show will play automatically if I create it in Flash Catalyst.
I am trying to create a personal portfolio website using Flash CS4. Understand that there are a number of ways to create web pages using Flash. One way is to create separate swf files for the web pages and load them when the web page is requested. Another way is to put the pages in separate frames in the same swf file or to use scenes and use gotoAndPlay(). Another possible way is to create separate movie clips for the web pages.
I need to have a flash intro for an ambulance that changes models and years while moving down the road ...something simple but can't figure how to get it started. Will be 3 different year/models.
I am trying to create a search bar within flash which will generate links to frames within my flash project based off of given text. I have found a flash project online which does almost exactly what I need, but it only allows for searching a single word rarther than a full term or sentence. It also gives no error message when no word match is found. I am not very good at actionscript or I would be able to midify myself.
stop(); var testText0:String = "this is some test text one"; var testText1:String = "this is some test text two";
