Newbie Question: I'm having a problem with a Flash /swf. file I created, it looks fine when I create it, test it in flash on my computer and when I place it in the website I see everything fine. As of yet i have looked across many tutorials only showing me on the movement of text I would be great full to anyone who can help me with this text scaling issue
View 2 RepliesI have just created an animation of moving text, which I wrote in flash pro and converted to symbols then animated.
When i play it with the play button on the timeline it plays beautifully. However when I publish it as an swf file for a split second on some of the words theres a slight white flicker. As in a horizontal line that quickly flashes up across some of the letters.
I am trying to make a feed backbox for visitors on my website. I have made the editable text field and scroll bar and set all of my preferences, but when the typing reaches the border on the right of the text field it just continues to type further horizontaly. I can start a new line by pressing enter but I would like it to start a new line on its own when it reaches the boundary.
View 3 RepliesI have a movieclip that I want to move down and up.I use a new tween using the Elastic. easeOut property to move the movieclip down over a duration of 2 seconds.But right after it moves down I need to move it right back up so it looks like a uniform animation.I used setInterval(reverse,2000) and reverse contains yoyo();This almost works.Since Elastic slows down the movement of the movieclip at the very end, there seems to be a pause between the movieclip moving down and the movieclip moving up.It does not give the impression that it is 1 tween, which is what I was going for.I tried to set the duration to less than 2 seconds, but then Elastic property is not 'stretchy'.It is too fast and comes to a halt, not elastic, and then the reverse (when the movieclip goes back up) is much faster than when the movieclip goes down.Is it possible to move the movieclip down AND up by using just 1 "new tween" function?

It does'nt need any navigation like this example, but it's going to just an animationmovie.This animation is going to be viewed on a widescreen tv. How do I make the animation fit the screen? I'm not sure which resolution the animation must be. I guess this has to match the resolution of the tv. But is it just as simple as changing the flash file settings in 1920 x 1080?
however i'm not able to use eraser, when i select the eraser shape and mode i can see a eraser moving over the area i actually want to erase, but in the end the layer is still there... i did search all criss cross the menu, cannot find, i'm sure it's something funny, how can i apply eraser fully?

I have a fla file template and the example sequence swf but the template only show a few of the images in the finshed preview even though all the images are present 12 bitmaps and 12 symbols.see why the images are not moving in the Banner .

I am very new to Flash and apologize for the simplicity of the question, but I am having trouble moving the playhead along the timeline in Flash. For example, when I open up a new Flash project, and start out with the initial layer with it's single frame, I am having trouble moving the playhead forward to frame i.g. "75" or "80". My questions is, can I not move the playhead because I do not have content past frame one or can I not move the playhead because I have accidentally initiated a button or action that will only allow me to scrub my playhead through frames with content. On the off chance I had done this, I tried restarting Flash with the default settings with no success. Again, I realize this may be a very simple question and I am hoping the answer will be the same.
View 3 RepliesIs it possible to have a stationary video (ex: of spokesperson) move across the stage, in a manner that would appear to have a "panning camera" effect? I've attempted to produce this effect by simply importing the video as an imbedded video, then dropping a new layer into the timeline, and then simply placing a new keyframe where I'd like the video to begin a panning camera effect, but it starts the video over again where I've place the new keyframe. Is it even possible to acheive this sort of effect through Flash or can I only do this in AE or Premiere?

For example, I would like to remove black bars from being shown on the stage in one part of the video, so by stretching it out the black bars wont show, and then I can just revert it back as those frames end. Can I do this with the playback component or embedding?

The second is related text coming in from the left or right on the screen. I need to have it all controlled by an XML file that lets me specify the picture, direction the picture is coming from, text, and direction the text is coming in from.

View 5 RepliesUgh how to start...Each thumbnail image is a link which enlarges to an easel to the right with a neat effect. If you move the cursor over a thumbnail it has a little effect on it (very transparent "snow" like on a TV screen) I don't know why Flash keeps "moving" (if you call it that) the snow effect on top of the thumbnails when I open the file at a later time. All I remember doing is just editing simple text and swapping one bitmap thats not even tied to the thumbnails.
I can still click the thumbnails and they open to the right just fine. I just don't get why the "effect/link" moves on top of the thumbnails. If I delete the snow it deletes every effect on the website so they won't enlarge to the right. I don't care if I lose the effect but I don't remember/know how to make each thumbnail a link so they open on the spot I want.
In Flash CS5, after you've inserted a keyframe in a motion tween, how do you move that keyframe to another frame?

I can export them as flv also.How they are created? Is it in flash itself or from some other programs like after effects or something?I would like to create such effects for myself. View 6 RepliesI am trying for moving a graphic across the stage, using a png image of a vehicle created in photoshop. Top to bottom travel takes 2 secs and stage is 767 pixels height.24fps is default and I have timeline at 48 frames long.Test movie sees very noticeable jerkiness in the motion, I expected one smooth movement up the screen, I sort of see two windscreens etc. Now I seem to recall that 25fps in video editing sees smooth motion as the human eye cant't perceive individual frames at that rate. What should I be doing to get a png to run smooth ?I tried doubling the fps and timeline length, it got a bit better, I kept doubling such and each time it improved, I hit the limit at 120fps. Its acceptable now but that seems wrong to have to do that, Timeline is going to be massive as actual movie to be 20 secs. Are there settings to be made somewhere to smooth things and use 24fps ?Png is 20kb, background image is 1.28Mb as a png. Envirographics

I encountered a wierd problem. Im buidling a site with all content centered in the middle of the screen (with a listener script wich automatialy moves the content if the browser window size is changed by the user)In the site i have a newsscroller wich contains an externally loaded xml-file.Now to the problem; when i resize the browser, all the content BUT the scroller moves to the center of the screen like i want to except the xml-newsscroller, it flyes away somewhere off stage and dissapears

View 4 RepliesI have created a motion tween to fade in a symbol on the stage. I have set a there is a diamond keyframe marker at the point where the alpha of the symbol goes to 100%. I want to be able to drag that marker to a later point on the motion tween span (not sure if I have my terminology right here) but I find that I cannot -- I have to delete the keyframe and recreate it at the point where I want it.

View 5 RepliesAs the title says, how do you animate the resizing and moving of graphic symbols without making the other objects go invisible? I'm using Flash CS4. Here are the bizarre, unexplainable problems I've had before. First of all, here's my basic scene. It's 6 rectangles and 8 half-circles. [URL]. First thing I tried doing was applying a Classic Tween (since Motion Tween did nothing and Shape Tween was disabled). However, what that did was turn every object in the entire work space into one giant object for no reason at all, which certainly isn't what I wanted. [URL]. What I realized is that in order to avoid having all of the objects merged into one, I had to create a brand new file first. [URL].
Next, I added in a blank keyframe and a Classic Tween while the workspace is still empty. [URL]. Then finally copy/paste the objects into the first frame from the first file: [URL]. Now I paste those shapes again into the target frame and resize one of the diagonal shapes: [URL]. Then I moved that rectangle to a new position: [URL]. However, when I preview the animation, only the animating object shows up... everything else is invisible. [URL]. Also, if I try moving a different object, the rectangle will start spinning for no reason. [URL]. How can I animate this object without making everything else go invisible and keep the object from spinning out of control?
